No chance of you winning this now Carver. 25 participants so far, and I fully expect more to join Oakey's predicta next week pal.

As for myself, I'm just grateful I won the inaugural league last season when only 9 or 10 guys were taking part. Like when the Italians won 2 world cups during the 1930's because only 4 countries took party, or when Bury won the FA Cup more than a 100 years ago.

Now ,what exactly are you waiting for before you predict your lot's game?

PS - Be nice to our guests!

Vanni the reason why I probably have no chance of winning this is because Carlisle may not be the best or worst team in the division, making it harder for me to predict, but Oak just seems to hide from that massive flaw and do nothing about it other than say he doesn't care. Dunno why he couldn't just be like any normal person and have us predict every fixture of the days matches and add the correct ones up making it much more fairer. Do you agree?

It's partly the reason I haven't predicted anything yet, I'm not sure I want to bother taking part in it if it's screwed up.

As for your chances, well last season you were competing against a small bunch of shit for brains, so it's no surprise you won it.

Oh and no I don't have to be nice to our so called guests who aren't even from our league! Look at them all coming over ere and taking our competitions, get out of my league and go back to your own!

Who opened the flood gates?

You missed the other flaw I already pointed out too. The elaborate points system in the first post means absolutely nothing unless you tie with someone at the end of the season.

Afaic, nothing could be simpler - predict your lot's matches. The bonus points system nearly came into play last season when myself, Mowgli and Richard all had a chance to win it going into the final day. Now with more people taking part, there's even more possibility the system will come handy.

Anyways, it's Oakey's baby and he sets the rules. Simple.

AND OH CARVER, IF YOU WANT TO PREDICT ALL THE L2 GAMES, THEN HEAD OVER TO THE 1FF PREDICTION LEAGUE.

Exactly! Oakey does this off his own back so should be thanked not abused by idiots who haven't the intelligence to understand the rules.

The problem I have with points is there us no point to them. The first post makes it out that the 3/-3 amd using jokers matters and it looks a lot of fun.

But in the end all that matters is who predicts the most correct. If the points did matter then you can catch up with people by using the joker and getting it right whilst the person at the top plays safe and doesn't use a joker.

Unfortunately you can't catch up now unless the leaders have a few bad weeks and you don't. If the 3/-3 and jokers don't really matter (unless a tie) why is 90% of the rules about them.

Now if you are 5 or 6 correct predictions behind come Jan time there isn't really much point in carrying on and probably why people drop out

Why not? If for example I will be last in January I won't drop only because I don't have a chance to win it.
No, I fight til the end to improve from my last place. I don't surrender :D. Winning isn't everything. For me this is fun and it doesn't need much "work" to post the vote.

TBF to Oakey, he did say last year was an experiment first and foremost. I also remember reading one of his posts where he was explaining to someone how it all worked.

I was running away with the league by NYD, but then I somehow managed not to get a single correct prediction during January/early Feb, some 7 or 8 matches iirc, and people soon caught up with me. It's all too common in this league as L2 sides are everything bar consistent.

Spot on my German friend! Let's take Bristol Rovers for example - they know they're going down next year, and the only question mark is whether they'll manage to avoid 24th and perhaps grab 23rd, yet they aren't going to forfeit their matches and give up no sir! And fair play to them I say. That's the very definition of fair play if you ask me.

Plus the fact in that time i got 5 correct on the bounce which took it down to the wire :)

Aye I did say unless the leaders go through a bad patch. However with the jokers it doesn't matter if the leaders go through a bad patch or not, you can still catch up.

I appreciate it Oakey mate for sticking up for me  But he's most certainly not insulting me because I simply have never met him and most probably never will, unless I go up to Carlisle and seek him out personally :box: But I don't want to go all the way up there only to discover he's just a harmless schoolboy. So, the only time I feel insulted is when the words are coming from one of me best mates or some family member, and not from some random guy over the internet.

Still, you're the man Oakey! And thanks once again :bravo:

Careful Vanni he posted on 1FF he was a 16 year old semi-pro boxer :fl:

Really Mowgli? Then it should be a good fight because I went to a boxing gym for all of 5/6 months a long time ago  Seriously though, I have always liked boxing but at the time it was either boxing or footy so I chose the latter cos I have always liked footy more.

Bring it on Carver :box:

PS - tbh though perhaps the main reason I enrolled in a boxing gym was to disobey my dad - he absolutely hated it and still does I think! OTOH, he didn't say a word when my younger bro started practicing martial arts.

My boxing gloves have barbed wire wrapped around them, just thought I'd point that out to you.

What's the first thing that is instilled into the minds of prospective boxers? Here's a clue - without this trait, a boxer doesn't go very far.

Discipline. Something you haven't yet grasped it seems.

But I digress. Enough of the boxing talk.

It will be or i will just keep deleting his posts making them irrelevant :smug: If anyone on here threatens violence to other posters then admin will be involved which could include a permanent ban. We may support different teams for our own reasons but let's all get along. :2thumb:
