I think Ravenbish has left due to John Stead signing a new contract.

No need for 2 divisions, just tell anyone who gets more then 3 results in a row wrong to fuck off. 3 strikes and your out. :fing:

Same goes for anyone who misses 2 predictions. 2 yellows and your gone. :fing:

That will quickly sort the numbers out.

Just did, can't see nothing about get three wrong in a row and your gone though, that rule would quickly seperate the top dogz (like me) from the twats and make it a more manageable number for you to sort out. :dk:

Great solution to the problem, btw it only took me a minute to think up this brilliant NU RULE, must be a genius or something.

I reckon we should just let Oakey run it his way he's done a grand job in recent seasons,if you don't like the rules then don't bother playing.

Yeah cos no other fucker ever makes suggestions. Oh wait.

2 divisions of 14?

That would be fun and perhaps promotion/relegation every 12 games?
But if this season goes like last Oak had a load of drop outs so the divisions would end up with 7-8 teams each, which would still be ok ish?

Perhaps the top 14 from last season in 1 and the rest in 2. I think you would be ok despite the little mishap :gr:

I'm afraid Carver is right for once. It's way more interesting with two divisions, but it also guarantees that people lose interest a lot quicker.Back on the old forum, I proposed to Joe. that he splits the NL prediction league into two divisions, and he and quite a few others liked the idea at first. Sadly, loads of div.2 players dropped out as soon as they knew they're weren't going up (or down ;)). IIRC, only three players kept on predicting til the end, and that was only because there were two promotion spots up for grabs.

Anyways, it's all good when people sign up for forum games, but not so when they keep dropping off one by one. One may think there are enough players now for two or more divisions, but we all know that only some 12 players will predict all throughout season.

Ok fair do's what about 2 divisions of equal stature then the top two go into the FGRCarver Cup final over the play offs :woot:

A new rule we should have is that you can only make one prediction for each game, if you want to change it then tough shit, you've already made it.

I would get sick of people screwing up and then that big softy Oak would let them off. Then of course they would end up getting it right.

How about keeping it as one big league until the Boxing Day games? Then based on the league positions, cut it into two equal halves and have the top half as Division 1 and the bottom half as Division 2. Then, at the end of the season, you'll have your relegation and promotion places sorted, and the Champion of Division 1. Then, the Play Offs themselves can be used for the people sat in the Division 2 Play Off positions.

That way, with doing it halfway through the season and then at the end, instead of dragging it through an entire season, there's less chance of people getting bored as you could be hovering in mid table so end up in Division 2 after Boxing Day but then go on a good run and end up getting yourself promoted to Division 1. So in both halves of the seasons, there's an incentive to play as the ones who just made it into Division 1 after Boxing Day are then competing to stay from the bottom of Division 1 to avoid relegation.

Be interested to hear others thoughts on that as I think it'd work really well. And I'd be more than happy to help oakroader with anything during the course of the season. Not a problem.

Seems everyone else is allowed an opinion, so why the fuck shouldn't I? :fing:

So the League 2 forum now has Impish, Carver and ChrisFGR.
All we need now is Woking to be promoted and Sparrow to join us and we'll have the full compliment of 1FF 'characters'..... :bl:

Welcome bro...
Be active be proud
I followed this site (well the previous version of it) for ages, signed up, then never logged back in, despite clearly enjoying the content. But I'm sick of our fan site, so hey ho, should out that effort here. Just can't wait til the real stuff starts.. Promotion threads after 5 games, season long random rivalries between clubs.. Love it.

You forgot GTFC1979, I'm sure you'll agree he was a class apart in the 'character' department. Would be fun if he came back, he was full of shit but it was always easy to get a cheap bite out of him.

Yeah he was a 'top lad', in fact he was 'head and shoulders' above everyone else in the character department Chris.

How do u know that lol. He went off in a pissy fit long before u turned up. I know a lot more about him then u do, and let's just say the man was an utter embarrassment.

Almost made u look like a good poster in comparison......

But did he ever do anything as stupid as to proclaim that if his team lost to whichever tinpotter they were playing that week, say for example at home to North Ferriby, that if they lost he would get the word 'twat' tattooed on his forehead before welching on the deal after Ferriby won 1-0?

Yes. Everyone who was around back then knows WHAT HE DID. The man was a grade A tool, and ended up disgracing himself and leaving.
You don't remember, clearly, cos you weren't around then. Ask Sparrow and Master D about him.

The twat forehead tat turned out to be too tough to get permission for, think the missus would actually have left me tbh, and I'd have probably lost my job as well. Weighing it all up I decided it weren't worth it.

Surely saving face on an Internet forum full of strangers is more important than losing your missus and your job though...?
