Doncaster gave us the green light to sell the extra 800.

Went on sale at 2pm, sold out by 2.08pm.

Let’s do this Charlton!!

Edit: misleading info, ticketing system was saying sold out. 100 odd remain.

The home attendance is looking well below average for this game anyway, be around 25k there.

We do have precedent of not turning up to big games, I remember only have around 30k in the ground for a League Cup semi-final, ~5k of which were Man Utd fans. I'm sure should we get to Wembley for the play-off final they'll miraculously return.

That's really strange. You'd expect the place to be rammed for this. Could be that your recent history of disappointing outcomes has taken its toll.

Or maybe people just value their "Saturday night out" more? Might explain our slow take-up, too. :dk:

Always catches me out how quickly the play offs come round. Got my ticket for the home leg. C’mon Pompey!

Games are scheduled before it’s known who’s playing in them.

Even if their game was tomorrow, Portsmouth would be going up there for a 12.15 KO.

Was expecting to be sick with nerves, instead I’m just sick from a cracking hangover. Ideal preparation for a game that’s going to be excruciating to watch anyway..

Blimey, two big blows in the team news for us with both Brown and Pitman out injured. Advantage Sunderland.

Bigger blow for Sunderland losing McGeady in the warm-up.

I was looking forward to this game, unfortunately it's been fucking dreadful so far.

Definitely, that was a welcome surprise.

That first half was the definition of cagey, I imagine it’s dire viewing for a neutral. Fairly happy with it though with the blue spectacles on, we’ve not threatened but look solid enough at the moment. On we go..

Sums it up very well. Was thinking Portsmouth will be the happier of the two sides as things stand.

It's not been great, typical play-off semi really. There's definitely an opportunity for Pompey here though, as soon as it starts to go against Sunderland their fans turn on their team immediately. Do you dare take a risk and look to capitalise on that by becoming more adventurous?

My word, that's an appalling decision. Never a red in a million years.

If that was your team you'd all be calling for it though. Looked borderline to me.

Poor defending either way.

The ball's heading off to the corner flag. I'm rooting for Pompey in this tie but there's no way that should have been red.

Sunderland have a good case to get that overturned on appeal but the EFL will probably just decide to protect their official by sticking with his decision.

I take it nerves or the occasion played a part as that was a shocking game! Never a red either.

We were abject. Far too conservative and lacking any creativity. Will take it as anything can happen at Fratton and it’ll be rocking, but what a disappointing performance. Even against 10 men we offered no threat.

Did I read somewhere the attendance was about 8,000 below the average this season?

If so, how did that happen?!

That red will be rescinded, surely? That's never denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Really surprisingly low attendance. Was it the no pay on the gate? Obviously a terrible kick off time for Pompey fans.

26,610 at the game. Still a great attendance for this level but 14,519 less than the fixture a few weeks ago.

The tickets cost £20, but I think I read that Sunlun' fans were unhappy at this cost when they were paying far less through their season ticket. It was their lowest attendance of the season!

If that was the cost, I'd say it was very reasonable for a play off semi final.

I know it wasn't the greatest game, but fuck me the standard between the top teams in L1 has improved since we were last in this league. Shows how big the gap is between L1 -> L2, especially the top end of L1. Huge difference in quality.
