Had both my ankles broken via planned surgery when I was 13 to relieve pain reset my stance. It was never really noticeable to anybody else but caused a significant amount of pain for me (my brother had the same) so we decided to go ahead with surgery.

Only had my appendix removed, not a pleasant experience... Started off keyhole then they realised it was burst so turned into open surgery, can see the original incision, then it goes a bit wonky where they had to completely open me up. I was apparently about 24 hours away from death by the time we got into A&E, pumped full of antibiotics and emergency operation morning after.

Then 2 weeks later the wound got infected and started oozing brown crap, never smelt anything so vile in my life. All good fun, eh?

I was kicked in the bollocks when I was at infant school and had a hernia - I don't remember much about the operation but it's the only one I've had so far. The main thing I remember is getting loads of those Hasbro WWF figures from relatives and people who felt sorry for me and my testicles.

I've had my share of hospital visits over the years.

I've got a 4 inch scar on my lower spine (2 disc operations, 10 yrs apart, the latter an emergency in La Coruña). It lines up nicely with a 2 inch scar just below my belly button (I won't gross you out with the details).

Should I need to distract or entertain small nephews or nieces who were becoming a pain, I had a story that involved being impaled on a steel spike and had to be cut free by the fire brigade. I could string it out for ages.....and when they doubted my word, I had the scars as proof.

Twisted my knee playing 5 a-side in goal, hurt like hell when it happened but never went to have it looked at (good old self diagnosis), left it for a couple of years (whilst continuing to try & play football which made it worse), I finally saw a knee specialist who, after having a scan on said knee, told me i'd ruptured my ACL & it was hanging on by a thread.

So they removed what was left of my cruciate ligament & replaced it with some tendons from my hamstring, I was back playing football within 10 months. That was over 4 years ago & not had a problem with it since (touch wood!).

Also had a minor op on my left middle finger after breaking it (again playing in goal), had a pin put in my finger for about 6-8 weeks whilst it healed.
