Perfect fit for Bolton, expect he'll stop the rot and maybe even get them challenging at the right end of the table providing there are no points deductions on the way. Impressed with both Charlton and Bolton's appointments, was expecting both to struggle but now I think they'll be fine. Parkinson has done a cracking job with Bradford considering where they were when he took over, surprised their fans are not bothered about this. Uwe Rosler wouldn't be a terrible appointment but since his decent stint with Brentford, his last 2 jobs haven't gone fantastically well bar his first 6 months at Wigan.

What's the craic with your finances? Are you expecting a budget to get you challenging for promotion straight back?
The $64,000 question my friend. The football eague made certain conditions to the new owners in regards to finances for this and the following season. They had to show that funding was set aside to compete in League 1. We are all still a bir wary of them at the moment, but we have taken another £1m a year from a players wage off, so am hoping we can compete for players at this level, the jury is still out though

How can it be said that he can't utilise a budget, if another post says he had the fourth largest budget and they finished fifth? It seems pretty par for the course for me. Even at Hull where it didn't work out after spending money, the majority of that team ended up in the Premier League once they had settled down. He took us up from this division on a shoestring team of free transfers.

I would have put money on him taking Bradford up again in the next year or two if he was given the time to do so.

To be fair to Uwe I'd imagine League One is probably his level, although he's yet to manage in the division without Warburton.

Parkinson is a good fit for Bolton right now, horrible turgid football but he will sort them out, make them very hard to beat and grind out results. If they can keep Clough and add a few quality loan players then I'd be surprised if they aren't in and around the playoff places next year. I'm not surprised some Bradford fans aren't that bothered he's gone. I'd struggle to watch his style of football week in week out let alone for as long as they have. Maybe a change could give them the impetus to go to the next level and actually get out of the division.

So, after the about-face of almost every 1FF Bradford City fan on Phil Parkinson, we are probably better off taking everything they say ever again with a massive dose of salt?
No about face here,I'm gutted

Out of interest, why?

He's improved our league position year on year and had some of our best memories with him at helm. All stability we had has gone now.

He's also been backed.

It's frustrates the life out of me how fans look at our club and say, 'look how far we've come'. Therefore, Parkinson must be the saviour.

Listen, he's done a good job. But fans revert back to how it was pre-Parkinson, and draw comparisons with how we are now - merely because PP has gone, then assume it's all not gonna go tits up. We had fuck all spend from 2004-2011.

The board gambled on PP, and he delivered. Not ONE manager was backed like PP was (barring McCalls second season in L2) under the old board.

The vast majority of City supporters either aren't aware of that, or simply forget.

We need to thank PP for his services. He's certainly brought some good times - but that wasn't solely down to him. He's not the savour....and FFS, he's not the 'special one' for beating Chelsea, either.

He had taken us as far as he could - that coinciding with the new ownership, and the rumours surrounding the club that the new owners are effectively going to act as Director of Football, I fully understand why he has jumped at the chance of managing a recent ex Prem club - irrespective of their financial issues.

We all await the news of who's next in the hot seat.

It's been a dissatisfying week for most City fans (not me, I'm not bothered), hence why seeking out the fans choice (re: management) is pivotal in terms of keeping ST sales where they need to be to ensure its sustainable. Although, the new owners will have their own favourite - this 'scares' me the most.

Toss between Rosler and McCall for me. Can't call it.

Parky realised this year he was for the first time under actual pressure to perform with the new owners. He bottled it and went to a club where if he fails he can just blame the club being a mess. This proves the type of person he is and is reflected in his predictable one dimensional and boring football.
