Gutted that I have to miss this match.

It's an away trip I usually do every season

Yeah I won't be making it either. Had planned to go but I've got a mate visiting instead. Catching up with friends I haven't seen in ages trumps watching Jabo dick all over Hartlepool as it happens.

I've seen both players and I think it'd be impossible for Paynter to have improved to the level Ibehre is currently at over the course of one summer.

You're talking about Ibehre as if he is some sort of Rakish Bingham, give your head a wobble.

Wow there's a lot of bitchiness in this thread.

Carlisle doing their usual trick of trying to find a rival it seems

On the Wyke thing, he did actually do a decent job here. I wouldn't say he'll ever be a world beater but will carve out a L1/2 career.

Anyway as for the game, I just hope it's better than last year's shambles

Ibehre may well be better than Paynter but his form will dip at some stage. I'd back Paynter to come out on top on Saturday though. Could be a good game, I'll go for a 2-2 draw

Well if we were trying to find one we wouldn't pick Hartlepool, that's for sure.

On the whole looking for a rival thing, it is true that in the absence of a proper rivalry we will spice up our encounters with the closest clubs to us, but we don't expect it to be a real rivalry, it's just that any game close enough for us to take a bumper crowd will have a bit of an edge to it, we took 5,000 to Preston the first time we visited Deepdale. Before Hartlepool (and Morecambe) it was Preston and they made the same accusations of us being obsessed with them, but we've forgotten about them now we're not in the same division. We used to be more concerned with Darlo than with anyone else when we were in the same division for a while, but they too are now just ancient history to us.

Interestingly I can now recall 3-3 draws against all of the four clubs I've mentioned that we've considered temporary rivals at one time or another.

It's you lot that treat us as a big game and "rivals".

I once travelled on a train from Newcastle with some Hartlepool fans heading to our game and the way they were talking you'd think they were Millwall going to West Ham. I didn't let on I was Carlisle, but they were going.. "As long as we beat these lot I'll be happy whatever we do this season", "we'll have to avoid the feds when we get off this train, they'll be looking for us because we're Hartlepool", "if we score at our end today it's going to be fucking mental, the best thing since Tranmere in the playoffs" etc etc and continued in that theme all the way.

As far as I'm concerned nothing comes close to the Carlisle/Barnet rivalry :bg:

Is anybody under the illusion that Jabo will keep this up? If so, he's going to beat Dixie Dean's record.

Well if he keeps it up he'll score about 60 goal this season, so no. I do think he'll carry on doing well though and he's been our best player so far by quite a way.

Of course he's doing well.

But you've got three points and no wins, so his magic efforts aren't really helping are they?

Whereas Fat Billy's meagre three goals have helped win us three games.

I can really assure you that it isn't. I have never met a single Poolie who gives a fuck about you. Seen your forum before you've played us before and there's a lot of bile towards us. Go on ours before the same game and nobody really gives a toss.

Good to see you've based your assertion on hearing a couple of drunk plastic hoolies on a train.

Why didn't you fill them in then??????

For the record .... I like Carlisle for the away support .... I'm fed up of seeing 150 in the Rink End ....I also like thier proper ground , even if the builder of the new stand can't see straight ....but there is no rivalry, it's not close enough , I think Accrington takes the same amount of time to get to

If Fat Billy doesn't score, there's a good chance someone else will, that's why we've won three and Crlisle haven't.
They had to get Jabo off the bench on Saturday cos the rest of them don't know where the net is.

That isn't why you've won more than us at all. How could that possibly be a reason? The reason is because you've stopped the oppo scoring where as we've so far failed miserable. It's nothing to do with you sharing goals around the team and Jabo scoring 7 for us.

Maybe those sheep botherers are still of the dizzy heights they once reached ,and as for Jabo the hut think his last visit to the Vic saw red
