And they sacked their manager too.

We may think they're all numpties, but if all the FGR fans on here are in agreement that it needed to happen, then they're probably right.

When you get bored watching football you know it's bad, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching FGR, the 'football' pennock made the team play was tragic, he bottled under the pressure, couldn't handle it one bit, he had to go.

Only very occasionally under Pennock and little more under Hockaday. It was on Saturday, seeing Jim Harvey back managing the visitors, that I had to admit that the last time we really saw exciting football was when he was in charge. At times this season the football has been truly dreadful, which is sad as we have probably had the best squad, player for player, than ever before. Harvey managed to get the players working as a team and it was good to watch. I saw evidence of that in his Halifax team on Saturday, if they can avoid the drop it will be because they deserve to.

Very serious doubts on our forum that Harvey's staying on for next season - might be heading back to you if you can move on from the 'serious breach of contract' that caused him to lose his job.

The word on our forum is that Mark Cooper has left Notts County, though I can't confirm whether that is true, and that he is a possible. He is a fairly frequent visitor to the club so it may be that he is already known to Dale Vince, would be a popular choice as he is a former player for us.

With respect to Harvey, I'm pretty sure that there is nobody left at board level from when he was with us, but not sure he would want to come back anyway.

Any news on your player who was stretchered off on Saturday, it looked pretty serious at the time. Our stretcher case has done his ACL and isn't expected to play again this year!

I'd be very happy with Harvey, with the budget we've got now he'd have got us up last time he was here I'm sure. Great football as well, almost forgot what that looks like after 7 years of dross.

Just concussed apparently. Shame if he did do his ACL again though, considering it was only last year that he did it in at Alty.

Interview with DV. No rush over new appointment.

Bartlett not interested in job full time, wants to go back to academy role after the play-offs.

With Pennock we had no chance. Without him we have a chance.

I wouldn't call that a gamble really, more giving yourselves a shot. Sensible move.

Couldn't have called it better myself. The atmosphere at the ground has been dire for weeks, very little to cheer about and many were expecting a repeat performance of our games against the Gas last season. Regardless of how we do in the first leg of the play-offs (assuming that we don't get humped out of sight) I expect it to be rocking for the second leg.

I have gone from severe pessimism to slight optimism in the space of 24 hours.

If he can swing it with the board to adopt one of the low cost full time options that are currently being looked into, Harvey will be here to lead us to the Conference North title next year. He's already made it plain the part time set up doesn't give him time to work with the team although it's the same set up that Neil Aspin took into the play-offs in 2014. Go figure. :bdick:

It's funny really, Bartlett has made it clear for a while how key it will be to our academy set up for the club to get into the Football League. Now he's got 4 games to make it happen and make his job next season that much better. Would be amazing really, his 6th game ever as a manager or even a coach at senior level could be a play-off final at Wembley.

Would quite fancy him to outwit Hurst over 2 legs, even if he's working by himself with no assistant, goalkeeper coach, fitness coach or groundsman! He'll certainly have earned his clubman of the year award if/when he pulls this off.

Is it not possible that after the title was out of reach Pennock decided it wasn't worth the risk in throwing in all your best players for every game? Especially on a pitch that is in ruins and could cause injuries like the ACL injury one of your players got at the weekend.

Yep that's what he did to a point once the title was out of reach, which is understandable. The fact that the title had become out of reach was the problem.

I hope the players are more focussed than that camera.
