The PC version of this is a port of a PS3/XBOX 360 version rather than the PS4/XBOX One version.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Been playing the demo a fair bit. Much better than FIFA's attempt in my eyes, feel a hell of a lot more realistic, the build up play is class and you can't just easily run past players like you still can on FIFA, you have to be smart in the way you play. Graphics top notch too.

May buy it.

I played the demo and there were no commentators. Not a gamechanger but I just wondered if they were just missing cos it's the demo or they've got none this year.

There are commentators in game.

The commentary is one of the best bits about the game for me. It's really dynamic and seems like a progression in game commentary.

It's a great game and a lot of fun. You can score from everywhere. Sometimes you think it's a bit too easy and then struggle to break down the other team again.

Bought PES 15 and enjoyed it, the defending was hard and it was difficult to beat defenders. I'll download the demo and see what it's like but I still hate the fact the teams don't have the proper names, it puts me off playing as them.

How similar is the demo to the proper game?

Played the demo, thought it was alright - I didn't like how accurate the shooting was though, every shot from distance I had was sailing into the top corner or forcing the keeper into a difficult save.

Definitely feels a bit different though, will probably play FIFA for a few months and then pick up PES a bit cheaper around Christmas.

Picked the game up, plays well, feels like the old PS2 games again which is good, lack of licenses really doesn't bother me and it's pretty easy to actually edit the kits and logos in on this edition. Check out PES Universe, has downloads with kits, logos etc for English clubs.

Actually prefer this to recent FIFA's I've played.

After playing it more, I have a few cons I need to talk about

- The ratings are very inaccurate for the South American teams. Riverplate who pissed every single competition they were in the last 2 years, are somehow worse than Fluminense who did absolutely nothing. There are more examples, but this is a prime one.

- The squads aren't up to date. They need to sort this out if they want to compete with FIFA this year. They are very capable of doing this but they HAVE to sort this out because not having the licenses for the Prem already harms them.

- Goalkeepers are decent, but not great. I think they should fix it to stop rebounding as much as they do.

That's about it really. Was going to mention inaccurate offside calls, but its good to see referee's make mistakes in a video game just like in real life.

I was going to say how unrealistic the ratings are for South American sides as well. How the fuck any of them are above 2 stars is beyond me. Absolute farce....

Basically PES have created something that brings a certain joy when you play it this year. I've only played the demo, but once you get over the controls there's just something fun about it that Figaro lacks.

I think the AI is a bit too aggressive but it forces you to think, not just to pass balls around like ping pong.

Like others I'd already pre ordered Fifa so will start with that, but it's gonna be a great year for PES. They just need to sort the squads and constantly updating that fifa has. That's a killer feature if you like FUT

Typical that the one and possibly only year that FIFA have taken loads of effort with the club I support, have modeled the stadium and will have actually put together an accurate squad etc, FIFA ends up being 'meh' and PES (the game I loved 10 years ago) is awesome again!

At least you're in the game. I used to completely custom Notts. Took hours

I haven't played a PES since the 2008 iteration (which was admittedly a poor entry into the series but felt different enough to FIFA that I enjoyed it) but the demo for this just feels a little off, as if they've borrowed FIFA mechanics and true to integrate them into the raw feel of the PES series. Things like shooting and movement feel almost automatic when before there was a bit of nuance to how you performed those actions.

I have come home! After being a die hard Pro man, a life long fan, I was tempted away by the money and the name. But, after spending the best years of my life at Fifa, I am finally returning home to the place where it all began.

I got this yesterday... and after playing a fair bit of it last night and today, I have to say, I'm pretty sure that it's the most fun I've had on a football game in a long time.

Ok, yeah, maybe I'm biased as here's a disclaimer: I was always a PES guy. PES 2 was my first and I loved the series right up until about 2008... which is when that Euro 2008 came out which, to me, was the game where FIFA started to slowly overtake PES. And since then, I've been pure FIFA, in fact, I'm pretty sure that PES2016 is the first PES game I've even bought since 2008.

But back in the days of PES2-6, on any of those years if you'd asked me what my favourite games released each year were, PES would have been up in the top 3 or so along with anything else those years dished out. FIFA meanwhile... yeah, I played it every year, but I don't know if it'd even have broke into the top 10. And I got to thinking... I used to play PES purely because of how great a game it was... whereas with FIFA, I kind of feel like I was just playing it because I like video games and I like football, and it was the best option out there in terms of football video games.

So I guess in the back of my mind I was always sort of hoping that PES would retain its crown... because to me, PES at its best blows FIFA at its best out of the water. So when I saw all of these reviews and things saying exactly that had happened, I couldn't resist. And yes, there is a an adjustment period now... it looks fucking weird, the menus are shit and there's a lot of things that are just different. But fuck me is it fun. It's not just a case of learning the best route of attack for the year (over powered crosses/headers, pace overpowering all, ect) and sticking to the same fucking attack every time you're in the ball with goals from other sources being unlikely... goals can come from anywhere. I never realised how much I missed the days of watching a ball bouncing off of a player and then having to react to it. It feels so raw and organic compared to FIFA, which by comparison has become so fucking scripted and bogged down by horrible game balance things that screw you over. I know PES always seem to boast this word over FIFA all of the time, but fuck me... the FREEDOM. It just feels like creativity to play how you want to play is just unlocked and there for all to go and have fun.

So yeah, I'm loving it so far. It feels sort of like being away from home for a long time and then coming back. Still getting used to it but overall it just feels so damned right.

What system are people playing Pes on? I got it for the xbox one this week, and must say I am extremely disappointed. The goal keeping on it is a farce, I can't believe more people don't seem to have an issue with it? Played 6 games either exhibition or master league so far and every shot that either me or the cpu has that has been on target, and not blocked by a defender, has resulted in a goal. Every one, this is caused by the slow reaction speeds of the keepers.

It has made the game fundamentally unplayable to me. I started on the lowest level and then upped it to whatever the max is in the hope that would fix it. It's a shame as if this was even passable the game would be stellar.

It reminds me of playing some buggy piece of shit Dreamcast game at the moment.

I cant say that I have noticed. Thinking about it while I type, I dont recall playing it and thinking the keeper was man of the match I am playing it on the PS4, but so far I have only played about 10 games and still trying to master the normal game play as I am in the habit of playing Fifa.

I returned mine. As far as I am concerned the keepers are broken, I can't see it being patched neither as they don't seem to think there is an issue.

I recently got FIFA 16 after praising PES so much, but I did criticize it for a lack of addicting game mode which I still stand by.

After playing FIFA, I had fun with it but in terms of gameplay, its the worst FIFA game I've played in years. I don't regret a word about me saying PES 2016 is better because its far superior to FIFA 16.
