Football has nothing to do with the number of people in the stands. It's all about the quality and fight of the 11 on the park. Nothing else matters and attendance Willy waving is dull.

Still it should be called out for what it is. Shrewsbury is a very small town and had just been to Wembley over a month previous so their attendance was admirable if you ask me.

Rovrum’s though was nothing short of disgraceful and if the FA had any sort of idea of how to run a football league they should either promote Charlton in their place or let Barnsley keep theirs, those are two clubs who’s fans back then constantly.

Rovrum will average around 8,000 next season in England’s second tier, that should not be allowed to happen it’s embarrassing.

And this isn’t me being bitter because I was assaulted by Rovrum fans for no reason whatsoever, they genuinely are an embarrassment to the top divisions of our great league.

What a load of crap. Monaco play in champions league with home crowds of 5000. I get the feeling you are just wumming here. Or surely Bournemouth should be automatically relegated.

So what we need to do is order the leagues by order of their average crowds and not allow any promotion or relegation? That will be fun to watch.

It is great in this country we have such competitive leagues where even small teams can get promoted from the division below and see a 36.4% increase in their attendance on last season.

Congrats Rovrum, brilliant achievement to get back up at the first attempt after the horror show of 16/17, wouldn't have been shocked if you'd gone down again having been unable to shake the losing mentality.

Commiserations to Shrews, amazing season though. And from a selfish point of view, I'm glad I get to go to Shrewsbury and not Rotherham next season, lovely town (and yes, I know barnsley isn't the most attractive away day).

Yeah Monaco playing with crowds of 5000 is absolutely embarrassing, it makes a mockery of the league as does Bournemouth with their abysmal gates in the world’s premier football division.

Ideally if a club can prove it can average 20,000 or more in its previous 10 seasons on average it can be allowed entry to the Premier League should it ‘win’ promotion.

15,000 for the Championship, 7,000 for league 1 and 3,000 for league 2. Below that they can do what they like. If any clubs can’t do that the next team gets the slot. Fans have to be accountable for their clubs in the same way their team or their stadium is, don’t get why that’s such a problem tbh.

Lol, I know you're just fishing, but in your opinion there's no point your club aiming for Promotion, as by your logic they don't deserve it.

That’s a really bad sign in my opinion.
I think this is the first time seemingly ever that every relegated team properly has it's shit together. Wigan and Blackburn had by far the two biggest budgets in the league and players who were far too good for this league. Rotherham going back up is a lot more impressive but they have a good manager who made some great signings.

The gap between the two leagues is getting bigger due to the size of clubs being in the Championship now and the money they have. Even mid-table clubs are spending huge money. The gap will just continue to get bigger.

Interesting that should be the case, I thought that with their second relegation to League 1 and Dave Whelan handing over the reins, the money was running out and they were returning to their natural level. Is it likely instead that they've become established in the top two divisions, like we have since Elton John took over (only two seasons below the top two tiers since 1979)? Small clubs don't always remain small forever.

The money isn't what it used to be at Wigan. They won't be spending £7 million on the likes of Charles N'Zogbia again unless they make it to the PL. But they're due to be taken over apparently which could make them a competitive outfit in the Championship.

Attendances have halved since PL relegation but they're still backed well enough to the point where they can cherry pick very good lower league players and mould them into a good side. I'd back them to survive in the Championship this time around as the core of the squad is more based upon hungry youngsters than a spine of Championship has-beens. Paul Cook is also a vastly superior manager to Gary Caldwell as well, who was in the right place at the right time and ultimately proved how poor a manager he was at Chesterfield.

Have you seen some of the players they have? Will Grigg and Nick Powell will be on a lot of money.

Yeah I'd expect them to survive this time round, just interesting to ponder what the future holds for them. Are they likely to return to the Prem any time in the near future, and even reestablish themselves, or are their glory years realistically behind them?

Well this place is now boring without Rotherham, guess I’ll have to start a rivalry with Barnsley instead.

Hey Tykes, what is there to do for fun in your town on non match days except cleaning the webbing on your fingers?

We’ll finish above you next season no bother.

Probably already been said but what an awful attendance for a League One play off final.

Well played Rotherham. Shame to lose a local game but know plenty of Millers and chuffed for you.

Rotherham average attendance in championship season 2014-15 was 10,240

Doncaster average attendance in championship season 2013-14 was 9,041

Nah. The key to a good WUM is the disguise. Assumed it's just a prat.

Yeah, it’s a shocker.

As someone said on Twitter, could have just played it at The Valley and still had spare seats.

I’m not even being an arse about it. I just genuinely thought Rotherham would have taken around 20,000 and Shrews around 15,000, even after their appearance there last month.

No you are absolutely right to make that observation pal though let’s be fair I think we can excuse Shrewsbury as they had just played at Wembley against much more lucrative opposition just over a month earlier. They get a pass for me and it’s a shame it’s not them getting the chance to prove themselves at a higher tier.

And no millers fan gives a fuck, we didn't bottle it in the playoffs and go promoted.

The only bottling twats there were on Sunday were the c*nts drinking on the tube, it's illegal you know! Can't a Northerner go without a drink for an hour?
