We've sold nearly double amount of our average attendance so far so I don't know why that isn't getting a full backing. It's not like the supporters what's been coming all season have decided they couldn't be bothered, just don't get your arguments. Just means will have less plastics this time which should create better atmosphere.

What are you on about plastic, our town did turn up for that final. Just so happens most of it turned out in Leeds colours instead of our own but the point remains, Rotherham and Shrewsbury don’t deserve promotion if their fans can’t be bothered to back them.
Do you really see us as such a big club that you use phrases usually saved for the Man Utd's of this world? Thanks I suppose.

It wasn't really a dig just pointing out that Charlton don't deserve to be there because they'd take more, just as Leeds didn't deserve to beat you for that same reason, it's irrelevant, I'm still grateful to you lot for that result btw I watched it with a bunch of Leeds fans.:fl:

Funniest thing I've read on here in a while that, good job you took the tickets off sale when you did, otherwise half the "Donny end" would have been made up of Leeds fans.
So funny when you beat em.
BTW whoever goes up deserves promotion, it's gained by results on the pitch not numbers turning up to watch.
As both You and Hull showed us and Leeds to our cost.

Wembley PLC or whoever and the EFL need to take a long look at their pricing and ticketing arrangements.
Our blocks were released bit by bit and in an apparently random order. Adult pricing from £30 to £80 with associated concessions at £15 to £40 is, no matter what people say prohibitive to many, especially on the back of a trip to Wembley at Easter for the Check-a-trade. Two adults and 2 kids will cost you £90 at its cheapest for tickets alone. Steep when the equivalent could cost you £40 at the Meadow.

Then you have to get to London on a bank holiday Sunday, Coach travel from £25 and rail works affecting train through Birmingham all have an effect and thats before you factor in your days 'match day' spends.

While not knowing how Rotherhams in depth sales,it would appear that a similar situation is happening. We are both taking double our average home attendance and whilst not great its indicitive of the cost of watching modern day football at the FA's white elephant.

That said I will be at Wembley hoping 4th time lucky and avenge 1996 when I sat in the Olympic Gallery for £30.

Looks like the same pricing as last season, agree it's a total rip off. But that's modern football, I wouldn't mind unless you win Wembley isn't exactly a great day out, I've had far better away days.

The only good part about Wembley is having a few cans before the game on the retail park next to the walkway and commiserating/celebrating at a pub closer to civilisation at the final whistle.

You could equally apply that to most matchday experiences though. Not being able to drink in view of the pitch is a sham.

I don't get your point, how is tens of thousands of fans travelling from Doncaster to support Leeds (in many cases in the loosest sense of the word) any different than the same number of fans not travelling from Doncaster to support their local team?

Cos at least they went. Look Smoggy I don’t like it any more than you do, Donny Leeds fans make me sick, absolutely sick to the pit of my stomach but AT LEAST, AT LEAST they went to that dump of a national stadium even if it was to turn out for them lot.

Rotherham can’t even muster that...well unless they played Wensdi maybe.

Just answered your own question on the last paragraph.

Our town is full of Owls and Blades and if we ever played any of the 2 in a playoff final in final in the future then they would be nobody in rotherham on match day.

We took 22k just only 4 years ago and this will be our 3rd visit in 8 years so novelty wears off on the plastics eventually.

Sales so far, Rotherham 15k and Shrews 13k.

Think we're closer to 11k that 13k tbf (we also sold 20K+ on two of our previous visits)

Exeter sold about 11k too for their final - about time the EFL/FA realised the ridiculous prices are driving anyone but the diehard fans away. Not that they care!

Just to make it look better on tv they started by releasing the expensive blocks and wouldn't open the cheaper seats on the top tier. A floating fan might pay £30 to sit on the top tier (where the view is still good) but will not spend £60-80 to site in the only seats that are still on sale

I agree with what you're saying about novelty.
I remember in 1993 when we visited Wembley for the 4th time in 8 weeks, sold about 27k tickets for a Thursday night match at 5 days notice, some Blades fans tried to take the piss.
I found it hilarious, especially as the noise we made that night drowned out the larger Arsenal support and was commented upon by not only by the commentator but also by the studio guests.

Also agree Prices are far too expensive for 2 relatively small cities, with a fair distance to travel, cheaper tickets would make them more money, with more people spending more cash in and around the ground on matchday merchandise, food, drink etc. As ever these days, pure greed from the people at the top of the football food chain.

OK, well I suppose one good thing can be said about those Leeds fans from Donny in that they played their part in generating an atmosphere at Wembley (even the day-trippers - whatever people say against them, better to be playing in front of one-game-a-season types en masse than swathes of empty seats) which ironically seemed to suit you lot more than the Leeds team.

Anyway, this argument is probably run its course, hope it's a good game tomorrow, good luck to whoever goes up next season, like I said both teams have done amazingly well to get this far.

Apart from the keeper Shrewsbury not really turned up ready to play so far.

Penalty should probably have been retaken I think as well.

Shrewsbury have looked horrific here, Beckles is having a horror show. Every set piece it looks like a Rotherham goal is coming.

Like yesterday’s game all over again, only one team in it and will possibly rue only being one goal in front at the break.

Hope Shrews turn it around, come and join the Midlands party up in the Championship next season :woo:

Really nice training ground move on that free kick. Can’t say it’s deserved but hopefully be the lift Shrewsbury need now.

How have Rotherham not won this.

Beckles is continuing to mess up and give Rotherham chances.

Absolutely stunning save from Henderson.

No idea how Shrewsbury are still in this but just get the feeling now that they may well go and make Rotherham pay.
