It had better work out or you’re well stuffed.
Agreed Dan but the two yesterday were youngsters who Hessie said were 12-18 months from the first team.
Looking to build for the future so it is becoming even more essential we stay up.

Players in bold are ones we've signed this window. Squad looks much healthier already with still another week+ left to add to it. Harris has said he wants to add at least 4 more. Desperately need another CB, maybe 2 with Baggott departing and FW as well as probably a left sided defender and another wide midfielder. Very light in numbers in defence although Mckenzie can also play there.

Goalkeepers
Glenn Morris

Jake Turner

Defenders
Cheye Alexander
David Tutonda
Max Ehmer
Will Wright

Midfielders
Shaun Williams
Stuart O'Keefe
Alex Macdonald
Olly Lee
Ben Reeves
Dom Jefferies
Robbie McKenzie
Timothee Dieng
Ethan Coleman
George Lapslie

Callum Harriott
Jayden Clarke
Jordan Green
Hakeeb Adelakun (Loan Lincoln)

Attackers
Scott Kashket
Oli Hawkins
Tom Nichols

Joe Gbode
Lewis Walker
Looks light in defence, but when you consider any of Williams, McKenzie and Hawkins can also play cb if required then it's not nearly as bad. Got most of our loan slots available again as well with only Adelakun remaining at the club so we can fill out with back up young'uns should we need to.

Of the rest, there's several that can go out the door right away for me - Lee, Green and Walker the main three. Wouldn't be too upset to see Adelakun go back and I'm torn on O'Keefe - I think either way this has to be his last season with us as his legs have more or less gone.

Clarke, Coleman and Gbode are obviously for the future more than right now (although Clarke is an interesting one to give a chance to) so for me the squad could end looking a bit more slimline than what you've posted there, and hopefully more balanced!

Looking at your squad now . I would say you will comfortably stay up. But one I would get rid of ( Based on his time here ) was that lazy B*****d Ehmer.

You can question his ability by all means - He certainly isn't lazy, but I can see why you'd think that based on a short period of time with you. He has a languid style about him, but you could never say he doesn't put the effort in which becomes more obvious the more you get used to him as we have.

Should get (at least) another 4 in - at least 1 centre back, a winger, a left back and a forward

Agree with what Jo said
Ehmer has his limitations as a footballer no question.
He is definitely not, however, lazy.
You are judging him on a short, unhappy spell at your place.
I honestly reckon a large part of the issues he had at Rovers was down to the odious, fruit loop, bullying convicted criminal you have in charge.

No it was happening before Joey got here. It was obvious he was'nt trying and should have been bombed out before JB arrived.

Fair enough.
Just seem strange as he has always put a shift in here.
He just isn’t very good at football.

Stockport going for a one out one in system but wagmi is changing the face of football. We're going for a one out and ... er ...another out system but the clever part is if we can't sell them we refuse to play them anyway.

Erm.. .not sure.

Within that list, 2 keepers are youth loans - training purposes?

Critchlow, Bola, Pereira, Nevers, Banks and Costelloe are loanees.

Hendrie, Cousin-Dawson, Threlkeld and Wood set to go out on loan/leave permanently.

- and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Pereira return to Luton.

Not sure what the rules are regarding registered players, as we’ve had more than 21 all season.
22 outfield players over 21 I believe.

Why? We only had a squad of about 19 before the takeover. We’ve had 5 go out (one back in perm - Morris). And only 5 others back in so far inc 2 of them youngsters for the future. So we still have a small first team squad.

We might have handed out a couple of decent contracts recently. But that only puts us back up to probably lower/middle of the table on wage budgets for L2. You can tell by the standard of our previous squad that we had no budget before. Oh, and probs our largest wage, Mandron, has left as well.

Sounds like we will be getting 3 or 4 more in. And I’d expect 2 or 3 to depart if they can find a taker. I think one of our “ins” might be marquee type signing up forward. We’ve reportedly offered big deals to the likes of Olaofe, Stockley and Marriott. That money is still there to be spent if the right forward becomes available.

Watch this space.

Well, you seem to be recruiting players from clubs well above where you currently are. Wages will, obviously, be the attraction. Fail to stay up and those contracts will mess you up in the NL.

What - Mansfield, Leyton Orient, Dulwich Hamlet and Crawley? Well above us?

Come on.

Exeter are in the league above at the moment so Dieng is a bit of a coup, but it's not like we're spending shite loads on a squad full of Championship players are we?

You are bottom!
So we're only allowed to sign players from clubs below us in the pyramid? Gotcha.

I guarantee you're spending more on your top earners than we are, we're just building a squad on a reasonable budget for the first time in years.

Either way, don't you worry yourself about what we're up to, I understand you're very concerned about us but it's fine honestly.

I think Gillingham are doing it the right way. At least they are trying to stay up. And I'm sure if they went down it would cost them a lot more.

It’s nothing to do with who can sign. Just pointing out that attracting players be offering high-ish wages could backfire if you end up getting relegated.

Personally, I don’t give a flying one whether you stay up or not.

What else are we supposed to do?

Continue with the dross we already had and certainly go down?

Our budget was that shit last summer we signed someone who had literally been playing Sunday league football, Walker from Como’s B team in the Italian second division along with several others who weren’t making the grade anywhere else.

Ridiculous to say we should be sticking to that particular master plan.

Of course not. All I’m pointing out that if this recruitment drive doesn’t have the desired effect you’ll be stuck with some high earners in the NL.

Reasonably happy with our transfer business this January.

Some loanees have left

Duncan Idehen - just a couple appearances off the bench in the league but quickly clear he was our sixth choice centre-back and not really worth keeping him on.

Sonny Hilton - couple of promising performances earlier on in the season and maybe would have had more of a chance if he hadn't picked up an injury, again only featured off the bench but never with any real impact.

Jack Stretton - two goals and three assists with nine starts in a decent first team run, we were looking to keep him on but he signed permanently for Stockport instead.

We brought in new loanees

John-Kymani Gordon - scored on his debut and another good game last night, could be an improvement on Stretton, looks really positive.

Alfie McCalmont - highly rated full international only had a couple of late sub appearances but if he can play for Northern Ireland then presumably he can challenge for a starting place in League Two.

Jack Robinson - yet to come off the bench but much needed cover in left back and we have an option to sign him at the end of the season

And one permanent signing

Joe Garner - we needed more experience I think, and another goalscorer. It's a bit of a gamble whether Garner still has that in him but worth taking and he's been a popular choice among the fans.

Looks like we're just hoping nobody leaves now. We still have injuries but touch-wood things are improving, Patrick is feeling his way back into the team, crazy to think we've done this well with relatively little input from who most would have identified before the season as our star player and main goal threat, no reason to think he can't still be that in the second half. Our squad isn't massive but we've no real gaps, it's been a case of having a good first 11 and a decent second 11, which currently I think we have.
