These are out of contract in the summer:

Sam Vokes - CF - no-brainer to re-sign him if he wants to, maybe another team will poach him if we don't go up though.

Vokes just signed a 1-year extension, I guess it's a nice touch that he's re-signed regardless of whether we get promoted or not.

Aden Baldwin, Jay Bird, Hiram Boateng, John Freeman, Brandon Mason and Connor Wickham all released with us offering (as of yet unsigned) contracts to David Kasumu and Josh McEachran. Nothing overly surprising there.

Nothing from us yet but I think the list has to be with the EFL by close of play Friday.

Like the look of Kasumu whenever I’ve seen him. I’d be looking at him as a Luongo replacement if he doesn’t sign a new deal. Suspect he’ll have Championship interest though?

Swansea is the rumour. But that’s not unsurprising at all because it seems like half of Russell Martin’s transfer rumours are either current or ex MK players.

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t sign a new deal myself, although it’s been on the table since March…

Just the four out of contract for us which is very low. Two have been released - Max Melbourne (LB) and John Marquis (ST). In talks with the other two - McGrandles (CM) and Bridcutt (CM) over new deals. Surprised we're bothering with Bridcutt unless it's a pay as you play or player/coach role and vastly reduced wages because I suspect he's one of, if not the, highest earner. Would keep McGrandles but I think he'll head back up to Scotland, as was mooted in January.

The headline figure is that we have 26 under contract, however 8 of those are Academy lads, most of whom will end up out on loan. Also a couple of senior players will attract attention this summer and with question marks over others, that will reduce the squad size to give us some room for manoeuvre. Quite clear we might have to be selective and targeted with what we do over the next couple of transfer windows rather than look to do too much of a squad overhaul.

Very strange to have so little movement. Will be interesting to see what happens as you say. Guess it depends if we'll sell players (Scully etc), look to shift some on (Maguire etc), or get that money from Huddersfield if they get promoted!

James Henry and Elliott Moore have had their contract options triggered for next season. Still wouldn't be surprised if Moore moved to a Championship team this summer.

Any info Bolton fans any good?
He’s okay. Has pace and athleticism, a good touch and good dribbling ability. His crossing needs some work as he often fails to beat the first man and he generally seems to lack confidence, often electing to pass inside or backwards instead of trying to take the opponent on.

Defensively he’s not bad, sometimes loses concentration but has the pace to not be beaten 1v1 very often. Aerial ability isn’t great given his short stature.

Not sure he’s quite ready to be an effective L2 starter just yet and I don’t know if he’ll ever be. But Flynn is a good coach - if anyone can get the best out of Gordon, Flynn would be a good bet.

The five we have contracted for next season are all internationals or youth internationals in Buchanan, Knight, Sibley, Bielik and Bird.

We have agreements in place with the majority of our squad from last season, or so we’re told, but I’d imagine a few will go anyway. The likes of Allsop, Ravel, Forsyth, Davies, Cashin, Ebiowei and Thompson will stick around, I’d imagine, plus a few more from our academy that are waiting on deals. Lawrence and Byrne will go.

We’re genuinely going to need somewhere between 10-15 players to sign depending on who sticks around and who doesn’t. Crazy how it’s got to this, honestly I’d imagine the loan market in particular will be one we look to hit hard as Rooney is someone who can likely call in favours and boy-oh-boy are we going to need some favours!

Are you certain Rooney will stay? I know it's crazy for a manager who's just got a team relegated to have his stock so high but from the outside looking in he's been really good (which I would never have thought likely). SUrely there are teams that would jump at having him now.

Heard Rooney mentioned on the radio as being a candidate for the Burnley job...although Vincent Kompany seems to be a firm favourite as he has just left Anderlecht and also has family in the Manchester area.

Appropriately as we are holidaying in Scotland, Fleetwood have signed Shaun Rooney from St. Johnstone. Reads well about the guy, judgement will be reserved till I've seen the guy play a few times. For sure Brown is not hanging around and encouraging he is already bolstering a weak squad from last season. A name change along the way, as the club sign further players from north of the border Fleetwood McTown.....

Absolutely huge news for us that Ricardo Santos has signed a new 3 year deal. Linked to the championship and we really weren’t sure if we were going to be able to keep hold of him. Getting that done may well be our best piece of business this summer.

Sounds like Fossey is done too. We had an agreed fee of 250k in the loan deal but have renegotiated it to be more instalment based on appearances. Just need James Trafford back on loan again and we are starting to look pretty healthy for the new season.

Gavin Massey released and available to a good home. Luke Robinson offered a new deal but not accepted yet, he might want to go off somewhere else and play a bit more depending on the offers he gets.

According to a local reporter, there is a three year deal lined up when (well, IF) the takeover happens between him and Kirchner. He's been about the only stability the club has had for the past 18 months - it looks like he will be given the Freedom of Derby too very soon, which has only ever been given out to Reg Harrison and Brian Clough due to his work both on the pitch and behind the scenes in keeping the club going. The revelation of just how much shit we were in only came to light post-Cocu when Rooney was manager and without publishing the accounts for two, nearly three years now, I don't think anyone really understood the situation we were in - apart from the man who cut and run.

I believe part of it is that his long-time agent is said to have a place on the new board along with Garry Cook (ex-Man City) who will be the CEO of the footballing operation.

Nothing is ever certain in football, but it looks very likely that Rooney will be around next year unless this takeover doesn't transpire, of course. The deadline is next Tuesday so we will definitely know soon enough.

McGrandles has opted to leave, as expected.

As of this morning, we have 6 players confirmed:
Lee Buchanan
Jason Knight
Louie Sibley
Max Bird
Krystian Bielik
Nathan Byrne

Still no keeper, but as a 6-a-side team that’s pretty good.

6 players that would get in pretty much every team in L1

Sean Raggett has signed a new, two-year deal which is great news for us. It's a rare event when our player of the season doesn't piss off to pastures new.

At least now we know where we will be playing next season can get cracking with this. We’ve got the following out of contract right now:

Aiden Stone (GK)
Nathan Smith (CB)
James Gibbons (RWB)
Dave Worrall (RWB)
Mal Benning (LWB)
David Amoo (FW)
Jamie Proctor (FW)

Of those players I’d say only Amoo is almost certain to move on elsewhere. Lost a yard of pace. Worrall I thought at one point was probably past his best but in the playoffs since making an adjustment of Gibbons in at RCB suddenly looks like a new player. Stone in goal will get offered something but there are areas he needs to improve on if he is to make the step up.

Apparently our retained list will be released at 09:30 tomorrow. Jamie Proctor put a post on his LinkedIn which implies he’s either leaving or at the very least will be taking his time. Really hope something gets resolved there. Be a tough act to follow.

Biggest priority will be James Gibbons, Nathan Smith and Mal Benning though.

Vale’s retained list. David Amoo released. Says David Worrall under contract which is a surprise as though this deal had expired. Didn’t realise we had an option to extend with Nathan Smith so that’s good. Hopefully can get Gibbo, Proctor and Mal Benning sorted too.

Yep chuffed to keep Smudge and can’t argue with Amoo being released. Surprised on Woz but pleased all the same!

Hopefully keep the three we want and then look at adding a bit more quality for the new season.

Yeah I think it was guaranteed Amoo was going to depart. For any L2 club that favours a 4-3-3 system he will be an excellent addition for them even if I think he’s lost a little of his burst of pace. Wish him nothing but the best though.

Yeah struggled this season and last but can’t forget that first season and of course the cross at the Etihad.

Don’t know when Wozza signed an extension though!

Still think a couple will leave from the under contracts, maybe the likes of Covolan and Hurst.
