I'm not a huge believer in 'natural levels' to be honest, historical levels maybe. Mainly because it suggests you're unfairly at a lower level than you should be. You lot are in L2 because of gross mismanagement in the late 2000s, just as we ended up in the Conference due to gross mismanagement both on and off the pitch. Likewise, Burton for example are being run very well, hence their place in the Championship.

I think you'll succeed on the pitch now you've had the fans takeover etc. and it seems to be starting already. But I don't think crowd sizes matter when you're not using the revenue wisely and racking up debt (we've been there ourselves).

Finally a bit of sense from someone!

Pleased that you got promoted as I didn't fancy playing you in the playoffs!

Good luck in League 1 and I will miss you ground, bot for the results as we got nothing there, but for you excellent pies and pasties!

I'm hoping you'll be visiting next season to be honest! Will be watching these games with interest.

Really make me laugh when people make references to crowds.

Never realised the size of your crowd determined where you should play or what league.

Since we have been in the Conference and League 2, I have see so many so called "big clubs" who have average teams and their fans still think they should wipe the floor with us.

Luton were one, Bradford another and I could go on and on.

I am more than confident that my team will progress up to at least League 1 until we get a new ground in Wimbledon and bypass the so called "big clubs" on the way up.

We run our club well and only spend money we have. The problem with big clubs is that their fan base want them to spend and spend above their means and unless they reach the premiership in 3-5 years they normally end up in serious trouble.

By no means did I indicate that my observation determined which league a club should reside.
It was purely an observation with a bit of humour.
We are not a big club, normally we have an average 4th tier gate, we beat teams with larger averages and lose to teams with less. To me it is entirely immaterial. If the team on the pitch are good enough then your/our crowds are also good enough. The higher you go crowds improve anyway, Bournemouth are testimony to that even to the state in their case of not being able to accommodate all of their extras/glory hunters.
Back end of the 90's we played at Wembley twice, beating Swansea and losing to Grimsby who both had an attendance far less than ours on the day. 2013 against Bradford, only half of those from the 90's bothered to face Bradford who filled their end completely.
Good luck in your quest to join us in League One, out of the four, I hope you do and there are benefits if you get to the final, at least you won't have to scramble to get tickets. :gr:

Time to see what we're made of! COYG!

Please just don't be 3-0 down at HT in the first leg this year. I still have nightmares.

I will be watching all the playoffs for all division as I just love them, but of course when your team is not involved.

I think watching the game tonight will bring home what we have qualified for and how tense it is going to be.

I echo your thoughts about not being behind early or 3-0 at HT.

I sense that you will get at least a draw and I fancy Plymouth to win the tie overall. Pompey are good but I seriously think the huge expectation will weigh them down again.

Imo this will be a home win. I recon Pompey will be waiting at Wembley for the winners of the other Tie.

Ryan Allsop starts for us tonight on loan from Bournemouth as all are other 3 keepers are injured plus Bass (Youth). Bennett and McNulty are back too.

Dreadful all round from Plymouth, CB needs to get rid earlier instead of a couple of touches too much and McCormicks positioning was terrible. Tough ask for Plymouth in this game now.

"Found the bottom corner" it was in the centre of the goal! Really poor from the CB there.

Well, that's a quick comeback, another shocking mistake from the keeper.

Oh dear, not the best start for the new keeper!

Entertaining opening 10 minutes though.

Pompey bringing in a keeper on an emergency loan is a bit of a scam, no?

Mind you he's just ballsed up a cross...

Is it really the keeper's fault that his own defender banged into him to prevent him from reaching the ball?

I thought he should have cleared the ball out before or been stronger personally.

May I just add, it's an absolute pleasure to watch this without being crazily stressed!

This game has the ability to kick off.

We were trying to help you Pompey!

Allsop shouldn't be phased by this and should be plenty good enough for this level. I guess jumping straight into the car and into a squad for this game at a few hours notice isn't ideal, but that's bread and butter stuff there.

Yep, he's gotta command his area, communicate with the defender to stop him banging into him! His ball all day long and he didn't claim it

Was already hoping Rovers went after Matt this season, that was an outstanding goal.

Brilliant games so far. I knew over 2.5 goals at odds of 2.10 were brilliant odds

Defenders got to be closer there, although again looked like the keeper was rather delayed in going for it. That being said great goal from Matt.

Watching Pompey defend is like watching us - and I don't mean that in a good way.

Good game this. Horrific defending from both teams, but some decent football and both teams look like scoring more.

Matt will surely be banned for the rest of the playoffs now. Our defending was bad in the first half but completely dominated the second half. That was the first penalty we've got at home all season.
