Forgot to mention, every L1 promotion this season has come against us.

Blackpool deserved over the 90 minutes, but still an incredible season. To compete as well as we have, given the circumstances has been a superb effort. But ultimately the three above us were a) better quality in their squads and b) had more finance available.

Everything feels very measured and planned at this end and this is just year one of that so we feel fairly well placed. You'd expect the likes of Portsmouth, Charlton, Ipswich etc to get their act together but I still think we'll be competitive albeit I don't think we'll be top two competitive again.

Only a 5 week turnaround I imagine so it'll soon be pre-season!

Good effort today but the better team on the day won.

That is the problem with losing a play off final as you are weeks behind everybody else. In terms of player negotiations etc you'll probably going for different players if you get promoted. I'm sure it had a knock on effect for us this last season.

The majority of the side that we won this league with was with us in League 2 so not a hard and fast rule I’d say. We had 2 new centre halves but other than that it was the same team really.

Only got home around 30 minutes ago. We got down to Barnet in no time at all, but it probably took as long to get from Barnet to Wembley due to a traffic accident and the queuing to get in the car park.

No complaints from me, the best team on the day won even with our ridiculously fast start. A little bit more composure towards the end and one of those wayward efforts may have gone in. 2 brilliant finishes from the Blackpool player, we were behind both. A good day for a suntan!

Equally took forever to get out after the game (so abandoned the car & went for drinks for 2 hours) - still a lot of traffic at that point.

Is traffic round Wembley normally that bad. I appreciate there was an accident but there is just no infrastructure. Thankgod there was only 10k there!

Traffic around Wembley has always been bad. As a London resident I've always used public transport to get there and that was many times in my brief time time stewarding.

Best bet is to park up elsewhere on the tube network and use public transport the rest of the way. I've seen Willesden Green recommended in the past.

100% agreed, after that experience it will always be train in the future. Due to engineering works however, it was a right faff as not direct and also pricey!

Ive always parked at Cockfosters previously and gone into London that way, but for Wembley we were going to park at Stanmore, but theres no parking there this weekend.

Congrats to Blackpool, dont think we really did ourselves justice in the final but overall it’s been a great season. Will be a big ask getting quality replacements in again. However with Appleton at the club and with a better budget back for next season (covid permitting) we should be able to establish the club further and potentially have another good one.
