Oh it was just validating a point that it doesn't really matter how big or small your attendances are, as some seem to think it does. Look at Accrington for instance.

I've never understood why clubs don't build pubs close to their grounds whether they've decent catering facilities or not.

So much potential could be made from them done properly - pubs in and around Field Mill will make lot of money, and I (like anyone reading this) would prefer the money to go to their club than a chain.

A pub for only 23 days a year won't make a profit. Our social club is OK but I wouldn't go in there outside of a game and even then just for half an hour before or after it. Give me a proper pub any day

No, it'd clearly need function in general to run a profit. We use our supporters bar as one, but for those that don't have one already.

There were 8,471 fans at Wrexham v Tranmere in the National League on Saturday. The game sold out and if there’d been more tickets available they would have been snapped up. However, if we’d both been near the bottom the crowd could well have been half that.

Sadly not, these days. Because the Kop is closed/condemned, we only have three sides and our capacity is now 10,500 odd. This has been reduced further because the lower tier of on of our stands currently has no catering facilities so can't be opened (I think the club would remedy this pretty quickly if we were selling out every week), and the local Safety Advisory Group forces us to put netting on some other areas to stop any unwanted "interaction" taking place between home and away fans - again something that could probably be remedied if needed. As it is our average attendance is 4,500, and most of the time there are barely 100 to 200 away fans, so it isn't normally an issue.

The Racecourse is still a good ground, but needs some major renovations. We will only be able to afford to do this as a league club.

I don't really know how you can explain Lincoln, it's been a perfect storm of the club finally getting its act together on attracting younger fans, winning the league and THAT cup run. If we'd gone out in the first round and won the league I don't believe we'd be the best supported club in the league, or anywhere near it.

As others have pointed out though, the thing that makes me hope it's a thing for the long term is how many kids there are who seem to support Lincoln first now. But after last season why wouldn't you?

We went half way through the regeneration, so the old away stand behind the goal was miles behind the goal - bit like at Newport's ground.

When I went (97/98 season) I can't remember there being any seats in the away end just a terrace that felt like it was below ground level and it was really dirty and the home ends all looked black with filth too. By far the shittest ground I've ever been to even including our Conference years.

Yeah - the stand I mentioned was a home end, opposite the large open terrace that was the away end. This would have been around 1996.

Ahh right I thought you were talking about the away end. All I remember about the home ends were they were wooden and filthy, they sounded really loud when Blackpool scored though I can remember that!

I believe the Bishop St stand aka ‘the bus stop’ must be Grade II Listed , no other reason the eyesore should still be there

Agree that multiple stands or different shape, size and ages down one side of the pitch just looks weird. See Sincil Bank , Manor Ground as it was etc
