the good thing is that if we can keep this lead to about 70th minute i am unsure if Plymouth will bother chucking people forward to get back in game and may just give up. I still think again they'd rather lose than a replay.

but sounds like we should be 4 goals ahead, hope it doesn't come back like Northampton to hurt us in 2nd half but we sound quite solid today so i think it should be fine.

A win here would be an enormous confidence boost for the squad, not only being able to go to top of L2 and win, but that we never win at Plymouth.

It sounds like it's been a really comfortable performance so far.

I worry about Hanford in goal but it sounds like he hasn't had a save to make.

Expect improvement from Plymouth second half. Ask me on about 70-75 minutes if I'd still be happy with a replay.

176 away fans. Fair play to the lot of them.

Another goal would make the result safe. We'll see if Dave's prediction comes true now. I honestly thing any team of professionals will just try and do what they've been trained for, score goals and win games... there's an argument that the worst thing for Plymouth (players) now would be for them to score two goals to get a replay, but whether that affects their desire to play, I don't know.

I'd be gutted with a replay now

Everyone including the Plymouth fans, but apart from Carver would I think... according to Carver it would be even better than us stuffing them. He's the only person cheering for Plymouth right now.

I don't really think we can say if Dave was right or not now. Plymouth would have had to have been trying in the first place for them to stop trying once it seemed the best they could get was a replay.

Apparently Derek Asamoah just barged Curtis Nelson over, giving away a free kick.

Yeah after this horror draw we deserve a favourable draw.

Stourbridge, Salford, or just any part timers home or away.

Great win. Sounded a relatively comfortable one, too. Delighted to be into the 2nd round, hopefully we get a favourable tie in the next round. Not many, myself included, thought we'd get a win today.

Well done Carlisle, pleased for the fans!

Now they'll undoubtedly get rewarded with Colchester away or a similarly terrible draw.

Meh, we were shite after the first goal. Bit more tempo from half time until 75 minutes then we literally gave up. Better than a replay though I guess. We desperately need a new striker cause Ryan Brunt isn't good enough to be apart of this team. Oh, and I hope you get Colchester away. And lose.

If we can beat the mighty Plymouth then surely we'll now be favourites to win the thing... Colchester don't scare me.

Routine win for us today against a poor outfit.

Feels great to be in the next round of the FA Cup doesn't it. :bg:

Can't believe how many of your fans are mad about this. Just accept that you've come across a better team than yourselves. Luckily for you it probably won't happen again until the reverse fixture at our place. I actually hope you guys get promoted so don't bottle it.

Seen that your manager said he basically couldn't afford Hallam Hope, only we could hence why we got him. Sour grapes a bit to bring that up but glad to see we've got some financial muscle now after all the income we've received.

Down here in Plymouth for a week so took in the game. Having said that Plymouth looked all the world like a top of the table side at Luton two weeks ago, I couldn't believe how poor they were today. It really was easy for Carlisle, who could even have won by more. Asamoah looked a real handful, keeping the Argyle defence busy pretty much on his own, with good movement, control and pace. Difficult to tell how good Carlisle were given how little Plymouth offered.

It is a massive confidence booster for us, but we always look capable of beating any side away from home as we go away to attack and don't play for draws (apart from when 10 men at Wycombe) It's abit frustrating for me as i used to be a 20 away games fan during awful Ward, abbott, McDonald, Collins periods when they'd go for 0-0's and 'hope for the best' sh*te most teams do away from home.

we get a manager who plays an open, risky away game tactic, unafraid to lose the game but go for goals and I cannot afford to get to any away games now as i have my own flat and have to look after all bills while girlfriend looks for a job........bloody typical timing after 15 years of god awful away games.

Biggest thing is we really need to follow this result up at Bristol R next week, we've had big wins before in cup, but do not follow it up afterwards in league, need to get something next week and push on, but it won't be easy.

As i said last week i have a feeling Ellis could be a massive signing for us, I may be totally wrong and didn't see him today but was just something last week about him reminded me of Gray when he first came here, the Doncaster game which we lost, and Gray wasn't great at first but he grew into it and had that individual purpose and leading from the front style which urged on the others.

we're fine going forward and when Jabo returns its going to be a nightmare for teams as they mark 2 men on Gillead and they previously put 2 men on Jabo.......suddenly teams either have to lose 4 men marking these 2 players or will have to risk one of them with space and time on ball. So if Ellis can 'lead by example' and shore up our defence we have the makings of a good side.

Our defence should be pretty solid now with Ellis in the fold.

A back three of Ellis, Atkinson and Raynes will dominate most teams and will see us stop shipping daft goals. It's a good mix I think - you've got Ellis to keep it all together, the composure of Atkinson on the ball to clean up and the height of Raynes.

Fair play, Keith...

I hope your right, if we can keep hold of Ellis for longer then we will surely move higher! We've still got Ibehre to come back from injury very soon as well so things are looking much better. :)

Just found out that Plymouth tried to get Hallum Hope on loan before we did but they could not afford his wages! He had a good game yesterday and once he gets his match fitness up he may be a quality signing.
