Big game this both teams need the win to have any chance of top 3 and desperately need the win to keep solid claims for the play offs.

Think we're playing portsmouth at the best time possible. Fans seem to be getting on their gaffers back and he's cracking under the pressure.

We've sold over 2,800 tickets so should be a good day.

2-1 home win for me, though.

We've not won at pompey in living memory! The last time was in 1975 so i'm hoping our decent away form and large away following can make a difference this time. i think a draw may be on the cards!

1-3 Gas victory, forget Accy they're horrible bastards who we always lose against. Back on track with a resounding victory against a nervous Pompey. Messi twice and Sincs for us triggering a standard Cook meltdown. UTG :bdick::box:etc.....

In regards to tickets, i think when last you were in town our capacity was reduced in areas of the ground due to the dreaded H&S, we've slowly been notching the capacity up with small ground improvements.
In regards to the match, I'm struggling to see past a gas win. I just feel after watching us against orient and oxford, with big expectant crowds, its become obvious that our players do struggle once the crowd gets tetchy. This is in comparison to a less expectant, more of a party atmosphere against bournemouth, and we played lovely stuff. Rovers seem to be going like a train before their slip up the last few games.

Im hoping for a draw, and praying that I'm wrong, but our supporters seem to have forgotten the drivel served up the last few seasons and jump on the team at the moment, which is wholly frustrating.

Looking forward to what should be a cracking atmosphere and a cracking game.

I can't say I'm uber confident we'll win because Pompey are probably the best side I've seen this season and with their squad they could easily start firing on all cylinders at any moment. I do think we are capable of winning the game, though, without a shadow of a doubt. We slipped up at Accrington last time out but we aren't in poor form particularly. We have a strong, athletic, hard-working team that possess quality in key areas, so there is no reason why we can't silence the home faithful and claim all 3 points if we play as we know we can do.

Pompey are well overdue a decent run of results at home. Still think Rovers are nowhere near good enough for the playoffs.

Deal!

On what basis do you think we are nowhere near a top 7 team?

I thought you probably had the worst defence I've seen at the mem this season!

Not good enough at home, don't keep the ball well enough, no outstanding players. You are functional. Nothing more, nothing less. Honestly believe there are seven better sides in the division.

By the way, Orient have changed all four players in that defence since you saw us. But I'm sure you knew that already before taking the bet.

Any chance you're going to answer my question yet?

started the season really slow at home but we've definitely improved home form now taking 16 pts from last 21 available, don't get where your getting don't keep the ball very well from I would say we play the ball around too much if anything! Lockyer Sinclair Taylor would get in pretty much any team in this division, name these 7 teams then! I'll give you Northampton Oxford Plymouth Portsmouth! Not saying where next best but certainly on par with others

Accrington, Carlisle, Wycombe.

Lockyer is a good defender, sure. Taylor might get into the Orient side if we played two up front. He won't be any cop above League One level; vastly overrated. Wouldn't even have Sinclair on the bench.

Sinclair isn't that great. Obviously would have him at Barnet but more because we've got nothing but shite, more than he's got nothing but skills.

I love being underestimated. Tastes even sweeter when we surprise people, again!

The more games we play without Lavery, the more it looks as if we are toothless without both him and McNulty linking together. Whatever our form was with them both in the side, results show it's nothing like it without that partnership.

Cook has started to tinker to try and find an alternative magic formula, but without success to date. Smith has been a disappointment but is clearly not match fit at the moment. If he finds his early Swindon form then it could spark us back in to life. Frustrating to lose Tubbs, but Cook was adamant that he didn't fit his system, especially since McNulty was brought in. I'm growing slightly concerned that we're regressing back to building a team around loans, which is never a long term solution to improve things. As per Lavery, as soon as their loan ends, you're back to square one.

Right now, with confidence taking a dip, and the locals restless, this is the perfect time to play us. Rovers are a good side and have definitely got the momentum behind them carrying on from last season. An early goal for them, with a big travelling support, and it could be a bleak 90 minutes for our lot.

Again? How on earth was you escaping the Conference a surprise? You should have pissed it.

Quite surprising that you got relegated in the first place, I suppose.

It wasn't a surprise but still a decent achievement considering how similar sized clubs have struggled and are still struggling to get out. We have been underestimated this season which I think The Gas is referring to. A lot of supporters including a lot of posters on this forum had us struggling in the bottom half.

Nothing but skills? Probably the complete opposite!

Rovers 2/5 to finish above Orient if anyone's interested...

Bookies are normally correct.

Brilliant how 10 of our normal 11 starters was playing non league last season and we're above one of the biggest spenders in the league in Orient.

Orient may now have a bit of confidence now Nolan has come in and got a few a results, but that doesn't take away from the fact that having played a game more than Rovers they have one less point. That means that so far this season they have not been as good.

Our home form was admittedly shoddy at the start of the season but it has improved drastically since then, and in our last few games we've played three of the best teams in the division and picked up 4 points. Not perfect but indicative that we can compete with all those at the top. Orient still have to play Northampton, Plymouth, Oxford and Accrington over the next few months whereas we don't, bar Northampton.

If they are still in with a shout after that they will be worthy contenders, but they have a very tough run of games ahead. I see no reason to think we can't finish above them if we carry on playing as we are, especially as I believe we will only get stronger when Liam Lawrence and Rory Fallon settle into the squad.

I didn't mean skills like tricks, skills as in overall skill.

Which the majority of Barnet players lack heavily
