Oh, and if Amond put away his chance when through on goal 30 seconds before the sending off, I think it's game over.

Really? Can't quite get my head around that like.

The guy has 2 goals in 11, for someone who scored for fun last year (non league or not) I expected a whole lot more from him, you can't even say he hasn't had the service or the chances, he's had both, first game of the season he skies it over from inside the box, comes on as a sub away at Exeter and rolls it wide of the post 1on1, I don't doubt his ability but it is borderline lunacy to play Amond up front on his own.

Would have taken a point before the game so can't complain. Major plus of the night was the back 4 and the keeper. Taking Alan Sheehan out they had an average age of 19 and a few months. Really glad Jones has stuck to his word regarding blooding the youngsters.

You said it yourself,he can't play up front on his own,he's not that type of player.
It's not as if he's missing loads,he's not had that many chances in 11 games

Interesting that Famewo has clearly jumped ahead of Frankie Musonda as the 4th centre back when last season you'd have said that Musonda would have been the next in line from the youth team.

Whatever Amond is or is not capable of , he shouldn't be up front alone .....if he doesn't start to covert more of these chances I can't see him lasting

Speaking of not converting chances, both Marriotts misses on the little 2 minute highlight package are bloody horrendous. The first one is a little behind him sure but he is totally unmarked under basically no pressure. The 2nd is just an absolute sitter, both horrific misses.

Yeah, Amond up front by himself is not a good idea. Balls into the box are better, he doesn't create goals himself.

Marriott chances. Come on. Both were tricky, he's not Kun Aguerro or Suarez. First behind him and hes at full speed so has to slow down and the other comes pretty fast and at an awkward height with keeper blocking a lot of the goal - far from the open goal from six yards description. Looks easy but if you ever played up front extremely tough.

You don't need to be Aguero or Suarez to score from 6 yards with no one marking you! The first one is behind him a little the second is easier to score than miss and not even on target. Maybe I'm being harsh on him but I probably hold him to a higher standard based on his performance last season and the fact he is a quality player who should be looking to go higher relatively soon.

Not the first very poor misses from him this season either. About the best you can say is at least he was there to miss them, he's getting in great positions to score but his clinical touch from last season isn't there for some reason.

The problem we have is if we go 2 upfront we will probably score a bag full more goals, but will be weak in midfield and will see us concede a bag full more goals too.

I agree though, Amond needs a partner. Fewster would be my preference up there with him. A front 5 of Thomas, Laurent, Alessandra, Amond and Fewster has some serious pace and skill about it.

TFCH - We'll agree to disagree - albeit a minor disagreement. I like your even keel approach to Luton, you seem a very smart man apart from your mad choice of Football Club :2thumb:.

I played to a County standard (as a youngster) and to me it's not as simple as it might look from that TV angle. Good chance you hope to score more often than not as a pro, sure - but not an absolute open goal, tons of time sitter it sounded. Maybe just me. Strikers live and die on confidence and his is probably a little off at the moment with his run of misses and his young age. He'll come good but he's not likely to be a top Championship or better striker from my limited viewing.

Oakey my fellow fossil. Walsh would have got them both. Harford needed a keeper or a centre half to plough through first - that or a bunch of Watford dying flies!!!! Husband went to the US early in my time. You're on your own with the others mate.
