Yeah so on form over the last 10 games (since we signed Clint Hill) Luton are 1st, we are 2nd.

I’m expecting defeat, as whilst our away form is good, our keeping things tight approach to away games will be found out by free scoring Luton imo. And it’s not as if we can grow the grass long to make things a leveller! But the pressure is off as no one expects anything here and after back to back wins, a defeat here won’t be the end of the world as long as we put it right against Morecambe on Saturday.

Pressure off, we play with freedom. Luton players irked that they didn't get an entire week to bask in their demolition job on Cambridge. We run out 2-0 victors ;)...

I would of thought the jocks would have wanted a longer interval between the two games.....
The Luton will be still be on a high and will bring that positivity and momentum into the next encounter at the Little Bighorn......
Can’t see past another thrashing to make up for the disappointment of a previous Carlisle incursion into our domain on a previous Tuesday a little while ago....

Why? Not much evidence of you still being on a high earlier on in the season, your goals all dried up after beating Yeovil and you've had some pretty average results against the likes of Morecambe, Crawley, Cheltenham and Barnet.

But after we win away, very rarely do we win the following game.

It seems Luton aren’t selling tickets on the night for this, so I’d imagine that will put quite a lot of our London based supporters off. So I’d expect a fairly low away following.

Out of the clubs control. This rule has been enforced because our fans share the same stand. Something to do with the local plod and safety issues.
Unlikely we will turn in two high scoring performances in a row even if it is a home fixture. I'm sure your manager will have a game plan to stop our front men from running riot. You have also hit a bit of form and as we know in football confidence is everything. However our confidence should also be high. Hoping the fans turn up in force as a Tuesday night game can generate a decent atmosphere. We will have Cuthbert out which is a blow as he has been a rock all season. Not so sure whether NJ will bring in Mullins or move Rea to the back but we have options. Think NJ will otherwise keep the same team which means Elliot Lee keeping his place ahead of Collins. Cornick will also be on the bench which means our options are plentiful should the game not be going to plan. Not sure what to expect from Carlisle. Play off semi finalists suggest they are a good team but the early season form hasn't been great. Looking at some of Carlisle recent results seems to suggest you have done well against teams above you. The victory against Grimsby was expected as they are not playing well. A game at ours in midweek will be a very different game. I expect us to win by a couple of goals. We really need to make our home games count. The only slight concern is that we have shown some inconsistency but I'm hoping that will be put right as the season goes on.

We'd better be wearing our shitting pants, because we'll be about to shit our pants playing this ruthless Luton lot.

How many will they win by this time? ;);)

By 2 goals. In my humble opinion.

Only two? Nathan Jones will be pinning that one up in the dressing room to motivate his team. I just hope word doesn't get out among the denizens of Luton than some of us think they'll only win by two goals, could make for a very hostile atmosphere.

We’re decent enough defensively now and I don’t think we’ll capitulate so no I can’t see us getting dicked by 6 or 7

Tough game. We have generally not done well the next game after giving a thrashing. Perhaps basking in the glory a bit and not turning up and doing the hard work. Our great football comes off the back of hard work closing and pressing, winning the ball off the opposition midfield/defence and hitting them hard while they are on the back foot of transition from attack to defense.

The exception was when we played a decent Exeter after a thrashing, realised we had to be at it to do well as just turning up wouldn't work. Hoping the mindset will be the same from us for this game. We have to find a ruthless consistency. Still a lot of room for improvement.

Yes always a bit wary of us after these thrashings, it must be very tough to keep them focused after them.

May have missed it but was anything said after the game about the injuries picked up?

Missing Cuthbert and Potts would be a bit of a blow I think. Although JJ would come in if Potts is out so not too bad at all but not as big a threat at set pieces.

Seem to post this on a regular basis - word clearly isn't getting out.

Phone Luton ticket office on the day and they will put a ticket aside to be picked up, unless of course you have sold out already!
What they really mean is that there will be no cash turnstiles.
There are few, if any, more helpful ticket offices than Luton's imo.

Very tough game, but one I think we can afford to lose, as is expected. Luton fans will probably be used to away teams employing negative tactics and I'm sure that's exactly what we'll do, including time wasting from an early stage.

We've improved so much since Hill joined, though the football isn't always nice to watch, and we're creeping up the table.

1-1 Hylton, Grainger

If we take a few essential items, we have a chance.

Last time they thrashed someone (Stevenage 7-1) they came out the next game and beat Exeter 4-1 away.

Ah yes must admit that had slipped my mind. Guess I was also talking in the wider sense with the knowledge as a Luton fan that no moment of joy will go too long unpunished!

Little bit worried about this one. Was confident we would beat Cambridge comfortably howeve Carlisle aren’t doing badly. We’ll also likely have to make a few changes due to injuries to Potts and Cuthbert and Olly Lee being suspended. Collins may well still be out and despite being back in full training McCormack is still get to play and hasn’t done for two months. May need to be put back in mind as Rea probably needs to drop back into defense and Lee is suspended. As such can see us sticking with the diamond and lining up a bit like this..

GK Stech
LB Justin
CB Sheehan
CB Rea
RB Stacey
DM McCormack
MF Berry
MF Mpanzu
AMC Shinnie
FWD Hylton
FWD E. Lee

Subs: Shea, Mullins, Famewo, D’ath, Gambin, Cook, Cornick.

Other option would be to have Mullins CM, leave Rea at DMC and put McCormack on the bench. Would like to have Collins on the bench however not sure how injured he is. Same with Cuthbert and Potts, however didn’t look good for Cuthbert. Will know more once we have had NJs press conference.

Going for a 2-1 win.

Jones seemed to say that Potts coming off was just a precaution so he should be available and Justin would be starting for 90% of teams any way so no issue with him playing.

Wonder goal aside, Olly Lee being out is no big deal either plenty of options to come in for him.

Not sure how they can drop Elliot Lee given his recent performances, Collins might just have to wait even if fit.

The only really big loss is Cuthbert, Rea or Mullins aren't a patch on Scott the way he has been playing this season.

Jones confirms Potts is in, Cuthbert and Collins are out. Pelly and McCormack in, for me. Suspect they might bring in Mullins and not risk McCormack.

I'd drop Rea back to defence, play Pelly in the holding role and bring Gambin in for Lee. Mullins is okay but I'd rather get game time into players who may have a future here beyond this summer which Mullins surely does not.

Cuthbert is a huge blow though, defensively we have looked far more vulnerable whenever the Cuthbert/Sheehan partnership has been split up this season.

I'm afraid I lust don't get this Pelly love-in. When he came on on Sat he looked as if he had no idea where he was meant to be and what he was meant to be doing.

I’d play Danny Grainger and the youngsters.

Hutchinson in defence.
Cam Salkeld up front.
Nabi on the wing.

haven't seen any of the famous Luton tactics graphics yet. All this talk of who to play and where, and none of you have visited your favorite website?

I would play a 10-0-0 formation, it's our only hope of keeping the score down to a respectable 4 or 5 nil. Teams will now approach Luton with the philosophy of trying to limit damage to their goal difference.

I do feel time is rather is rather running out for him to make the most of his career. He’s been surpassed now in all the positions that he would play, Rea is the preferred DM, Berry and even Lee are ahead of him in the midfield positions and you’d probably prefer someone like Gambin to him if they be of those was unavailable. It’s only really due to Reas ability to play centre half and McCormack perhaps not being ready yet he’s even in consideration. At this point I think he’s a useful squad player and nothing more.
