Cruise control throughout that second half really, hard work done in the first 45.

Roll on Saturday and a nailed on 89th minute booking for Hylton so that he missed the FA Cup game.

Keith Curle looks a very miserable person. Took Jones to march up to the centre circle for him to shake hands with him.

Wouldn’t you be miserable if your team had just been fucked 3-0 in the bottom tier of the football league on a cold Tuesday night with a 5 hour journey ahead of you?

3-0 and fairly routine. Didn’t really feel we got ourselves truely going but 2 pieces of quality from Shinnie and then Sheehan’s lovely free kick for Potts gave us 2 goals in the first half and from there it was just see the game out and keep Carlisle at arms length which was fairly easy.

Initial reaction was that Cornick was slightly offside for the goal but was very tight for sure.

The battle between Hylton and Grainger was a good watch also, Graingers rugby tackle toward the end was pure comedy, by that point Hylton had well and truely got in his head.

Efficient performance. Great finish from Shinnie, ref played a great advantage after a foul on Berry. 3 in 3 for Potts, 5 for the season. Goal machine. Happy for Cornick, was a great sub by Jones. We were under it a bit and needed an outlet, good goal on the counter. Poor penalty from Hylton. Defended well, gutted for Mullins who just can’t string some games together.

Carlisle were one of the better sides we have played this season, well organised and knock it about. Just needed a little extra quality. Should do ok this season.

Top of the league, averaging 2 points a game and +29 GD. On to Crewe.

Yeah that’s our problem. Utterly toothless against decent sides.

Looking at the stats on sky sports (so they may well be bull shit) we shaded possession, more attempts on and off target. But obviously did absolutely fuck all with it. Zero end product when it comes to games against teams near the top, which is why this season will continue to be one huge disappointment.

I’d agree that Carlisle were one of the better sides I’ve seen in terms of general play. Had some poor moments with the ball but think that stemmed from frustration at being relatively stifled up front. With the experience throughout I’d expect them to climb the table. Wasn’t a great deal of creativity, not sure of the financial situation but if you could add a player or 2 in January to add something creatively it would be a good unit I think. I guess the loss of Adams is a major blow on that front.

I saw Notts County the other week and the only difference between you and them is they had Grant and a bit more of a platform to play off up front.

Very happy with that. Could easily have been a banana skin for us with key personnel out and off the back of a drubbing - perhaps we have learnt our lesson.

We've shown we have the quality when we flow and things go out way, now we now need to show we have the mentality to go on long run without stupid results when the going gets tough and teams dig in.

Promotion and play off table taking the expected preseason shape with regards to the fancied teams, pretty much now just the order. We need to solidify our Top 3 position and put a gap there so that we can ride out loss of form key injuries suspensions bad luck etc.

Why is hellogregory being so bitter about our defeat? Getting beat off this lot by just 3 goals is not too bad to be honest. However that Kenneth E End fan does sounds like a bit of a cock, I'll gladly meet him up here when Luton come to to town.

It’s all well and good having Nicky Adams. He’ll create chances all day, but the problem is unlike last season we don’t have anyone up front who can provide the end product to his creativity.

I’d like to think we can climb the table and we probably will move up a few places when we beat teams in the bottom half of the league... Then like tonight we’ll come up against a competent team at this level and we’ll fail to hurt them, will lose and then drop back down a few places. Repeat repeat repeat.

It will be a season of disappointment.

I was hoping we’d keep the margin down to 2

Im just a bit pissed off that by the sounds of it we didn’t make Luton work for their win. We had enough of the ball but did fuck all with it.

They have signed quality players, we have signed Sam Cosgrove and Steven Rigg straight off the fucking street. I will laugh though when Luton go into administration because of their irresponsible spending and it will be funny if it ends up with them going out of the league again.

Carver, they sold players for a lot of money in the summer. They probably haven’t spent anywhere near what has come in. They’ve just been shrewd in the transfer market, reinvested wisely and are getting the rewards for it. Nothing irresponsible about it.

Collins? Berry?

Probably got lots of players on big wages too.

By the way did you change the thread title?

I turned off the radio at 3-0 and was out for the first half, but wasn't too disappointed with the bit I did listen to. It sounded like we spent most of the game trying to get back into it, and like HG says, finding ourselves lacking a final product. My fear was that we would park the bus and spend the entire game just trying to keep the goals against to a respectable number. We'll have the opportunity to make amends later in the season.

Our wage bill is the lowest its been in 3 seasons.

Players out

Vassell £1.75m
Marriott £450k
McGeehan £800k

All of the above have add ons also, and our young current second choice right back we rejected a £1.8m offer for.

Players In

Collins 250k
Berry 300k
Stacey ~75k
Cornick ~50k

Sick of hearing about how we are 'buying the league'. We have a warchest for this level and a new stadium on the way through a great business model.

Hows that for dick waving.

Not sure if it was Jones or more likely our CEO Gary Sweet but we were amazing in the transfer market this summer. You never know wages signon bonuses etc or real sale and buy values but we have a better team by a lot and from the numbers banded around have money in the bank and a similar wage bill at worst - with a squad that has potential to play much higher as it grows in experience and skills.. Really smart, sharp summer of business. The board and Gary Sweet deserve tons of credit.

If you're going to rename the tread this then can we at least get it off Page 3 for the sake of my work internet history.

Solid win last night, I thought Carlisle were the second best visiting team I've seen this season after Coventry so satisfying to run out easy winners.

Bought for an absolute fraction of what they reportedly sold mcgeehan and vassell for

Who the fuck are Vassell and Mcgeehan? and how was one of them worth £1.75m?

Fucking jammy bastards.

Who did we buy back when we sold Garner and Westwood for a million each? NO ONE!
