Durham, it's 2015. Most people have experienced the internet and trolling died out about 5 years ago. It's seriously not worth your own time, mate, especially if you stayed up from 2-4am to watch our game and post that.

I'm just looking out for you, mate.

The biggest problem last night, for me anyway, was the midfield 2 of Carrick and Schweinsteiger. There's a serious lack of mobility there and Verratti and Matuidi gave them no time on the ball whatsoever. I would've liked to have seen us match PSG's midfield 3 and played Herrera and Schneiderlin alongside one of Carrick or Schweinsteiger. Also, I have no idea why Smalling is seemingly out of contention, he was our best defender last season and even captained the side a few times, the Jones-Blind partnership isn't convincing at all.

I'm really excited by Darmian and Shaw though, reckon a lot of our goals will be created by those two this season, especially at Old Trafford.

Did it? You bit enough to triple post! :fish:

I went to Chicago on Wednesday to watch that match. Matuidi is an ace player. PSG dominated Carrick and Schweinstieger (ahem, some people predicted this :ds:). I've mentioned Schweinsteiger's limitations a few times and been greeted with jeers from a select few United fans. He'll go unnoticed in most of his matches, play a few blinders, and look as crap as he did vs. PSG against mobile, pressing midfields like Arsenal and Liverpool.

LVG should go with Carrick/Schweinsteiger as the pivot behind Schneiderlin and Herrera. Blind may be required in some matches over those two.

I thought Schweini was good after a shaky start. He didn't give the ball away, he passing was crisp and he played Rooney in a couple of times. He did look gassed at the end of the half though, which is concerning. I think the problem is playing two players with similar styles as the two central midfielders. Herrera or Schneiderlin with Schweini would work nicely.

He did grow into the match a bit more (though his fitness is crap as you pointed out), but I've never said he's a bad player. He was a world class player in his prime. These days he struggles when pressed, has lost most of his physical attributes, and is injury-prone. I think games similar to Wednesday are what can be expected from him when he's fit. He'll be decent if not good throughout most, but will normally have the shaky ten minutes when the opposition picks up the pace.

Who doesn't have a shaky 10 minutes in this league? I've barely seen the man play before though so I appreciate your opinion.

The first leg of our two friendlies in two days didn't go so well. Lost 3-2 v Cardiff. With a couple of terrible goals to concede.

The other half of our squad (theoretically stronger thankfully) has the tough test of Hoffenheim tomorrow over in Germany.

Lost 1-0 against a strong Seville side.

Fairly decent performance - defence was solid and midfield competitive if not a bit rash at times.

Nyom was excellent.

Could do more in attack pace wise maybe but chances aren't going to come easily against the top sides.

Something more resembling the first 11 drew 0-0 in Hoffenheim this afternoon. Missed about 7 clear chances, need to find those shooting boots if we want to score another 98 goals this season! ;)

Origi and Coutinho score both goals as Liverpool win in Finland. Hopefully Coutinho can have a big season.

Blimey - Usually their games end 3-3 or something crazy!

Beat Swindon 2-1 thanks to a late goal. Benteke also scored on his first appearance which was a great goal. Unbeaten in our pre season and the new signings are all looking promising. Got to love a bit of false hope.

I know it's a long shot but hopefully there is something in his contract which says he can't score against us :dk:

You've got much less chance than United of winning the league, and the chance we have is slim to begin with.

Also, don't repeat yourself mate - it's a worrying sign!

Hehe I typed that out on my moby and the site badly lags there and I didn't think it went through, hence the duplicate post. I'm not getting senile just yet! :p

That is what I meant btw, both Utd and Liverpool have no chance of the league this year despite Ings coming to Anfield! ;)
