2-2 draw for RUFC in their friendly v Werder Bremen ll in Germany. Goals from Vassell and Smith. More game-time for all new boys except Lamy who picked up a knock last weekend v Parkgate.

Played UCD who are bottom of the Irish Premier league. Played two 11s. 11-0 in the end. Could have been more. Pitman got 2nd half hatrrick, Lowe Curtis all scoring too

Not entirely true, according to Twitter there's at least half a dozen of last season's squad playing. Does seem a lot of trialists playing to fill in the rest though!

Lost 1-3 to the wendies today in what will probably be Bruce's last game in charge of them.
Decent workout for them and a good crowd of just under 6000.

Payne and Morrell look like what we missed that season - speed of thought and quick passing.

Too much football played for my liking, which landed us in needless trouble at times but there's no harm trying that in pre-season against better opposition than the league you're going to play in. A decent workout in the end against a good Wednesday side, though.

We'll improve further as all the first teamers start playing together as pre-season goes on.

Nope, nothing. Never has been. No police or anything and they get the whole of the SW with no segregation.

Only thing that happened was a Wednesday fan running on the pitch towards Bruce in the first half, which he was roundly booed and called a wanker by the Sheffield lot.

We got in Lincoln around quarter to 1 and parked in Lucy Tower and went straight to Harvester so we didn’t go past that pub but then we left there at half 2 and walked towards where the shops are so that’s the first time I noticed them all as we walked past them.

Usual multitude of changes by both sides but quite a few bookings so perhaps not that friendly.

Pitch not quite ready for 2 games in a weekend, so Dale v Blackburn cancelled as a public game and played behind closed doors in Blackburn - 5-1 to Rovers.

I enjoy seeing my team again in a more relaxed environment but I wouldn’t go out of my way to attend.

Tuesday is a bit different though after the unfortunate fire at Brackley, and I hope we take a fair amount of fans over to our neighbours to help them out.

Beat Burnley 3-2 in a behind closed doors friendly today. Nice to chalk up a win, it's not been the most reassuring of preseasons up until now!

Burnley were at full strength, so it was an incredible result really.

The entire Burnley squad participated and beat Accrington 8-0 as part of the same session.

Just got back from Farsley Celtic where the game was called off about an hour before the kick off.

Paul Warne came into the bar and explained to the supporters that the pitch was not fit to play on and he had reluctantly decided that he had no other option than to call the game off.

He went round every table and thanked us all for supporting the team and shook all our hands.

It was very disappointing for all concerned, but at the end of the day. you can't risk players careers.

I had a look on the way out and TBF it was local parks standard at best.

Not too sure who picks up the tab but I hope RUFC will be helping Farsley out.
