Following on from what Full of Gas said on Saturday, we have announced most of our friendlies:

Salisbury City (A) - 11th July
Cirencester Town (A) - 14th July
Arsenal [U21/Development Squad] (H) - 18th July
Reading (H) - 21st July
West Brom (H) - 31st July

I do think we will have a few reserve team friendlies arranged as the weeks go on and I wouldn't be surprised if we have another first team friendly between the Reading and West Brom games. Cheltenham away, maybe?

Think we've only got a couple arranged so far:-

11/07 - Away vs Salisbury
31/07 - Home vs WBA

Been updated now. Nothing crazily exciting:

11/07 - Away vs Salisbury
14/07 - Away vs Cirencester
18/07 - Home vs Arsenal Development/U21's
21/07 - Home vs Reading
31/07 - Home vs WBA

Imagine a couple to come between Reading and WBA.

Apparently we're charging local non league teams £500 for the privilege of hosting us :ffs:

Is this the norm for league clubs to do? To me it seems a bit cuntish.

It doesn't seem very friendly, does it? But I've no idea whether it would be standard practice, to be fair.

Only 1 confirmed which is away at Wealdstone but we are trying to arrange 2 games in France but as yet no details.

Somewhere in Normandy I believe. I doubt we'll have any home fixtures as we've just relaid our pitch, I guess it may need some time to bed in.

We'd probably play a few local non-league sides too, usually the likes of Borehamwood, Beaconsfield SYCOB, etc.

Wow. Not even sure that the glamour of hosting CUFC for a friendly (or indeed any L2 team) could ensure an extra 50 tickets sold at a tenner a pop.

I suppose I'm biased as I despise PSFs, and would only ever go if it was a testimonial, but that seems like a skinflint move to me, especially with your new incoming zillionaire set to build a new stadium out of solid gold and all.

Burnham will no doubt be another one which is my home village, the last time i saw that fixture maybe 20 years ago the game was cut short by lightning, sounds familiar!:lol:

Looks very harsh charging them £500, and some people on our forum are suggesting everyone chips in an extra £1. Last season we must've took at least 750, and that was on a weeknight, rather than a Saturday, so I'd imagine they'll still get a good gate.

Christonabike, what's that about? I know some of the top tier clubs charge lower ranked clubs if they bring their first team rather than an X1 or development squad but never heard of a L2 club charging their non-league neighbours for the 'privilege'.

It is a disgrace that we are charging our local clubs, the one good thing is as usual with Cumbria sport stuff its been leaked and while our fans are some of the most negative you can find a plus here is its good ammunition for our fans to slate and slate and slate them off until it will finally be dropped by the owners in a big backdown.

their argument no doubt will be that of course prem clubs charge us, but what they will forget is a reason we follow small clubs is to not be like that corporate money-grabbing clap-trap.

at well it means a good 2 weeks for our fans to slate our owners until they drop the fee..........we like reasons to slate our owners

We're off to Halifax Town on August 1st, in addition to the match at Darlington 1883 on 14th July, and also one at Harrogate Town that Harrogate have announced but we haven't. And allegedly games against premier league and championship opposition to be announced in the coming days, probably Sunderland and Hull.

Happy with Halifax, should be a good day out.

That's a nice set of fixtures for Exeter, in particular the Scottish tour. I never made it to East Fife despite studying at St Andrews, but then Methil is a shitehole so I can live with that. Arbroath is quite pretty, though.

And Fluminese!

Arnold Town away again. Hopefully that tinpot c*** who injured Spencer then goaded Notts fans on Facebook about it gets a nice big knee high lunge on him, maybe Alan Smith is of some use after all.

Or maybe he'll injure him again for a laugh.

Newcastle United on Wednesday 29th July, even more pissed-up Geordies in town than usual. Happy with that, though. Might even tempt my Dad into a visit.

And Middlesbrough at home on July 11th, which is also a race day. I'm sure the local dibble will be delighted. I'd avoid York railway station that evening if I were you.

All the Notts friendlies are local and pretty much low key, I am looking forward to the Arnold Town friendly. It should be a good day for both clubs!

Port Vale is also a possibility for me but I won't be going to the upcoming Arnold game.

Last time their players took it way too seriously and seriously injured Jimmy Spencer who was taken out for the majority of the season and that's considering they tried battering several other players.
