5th July: Sileby Rangers (A)
7th July: Worthing (A)
11th July: Burgess Hill Town (A)
18th July: Derby (H)
21st July: Birmingham City (H)
25th July: Brackley Town (A) MAUNSELL CUP FINAL

Will go to Sileby as it's 5 minutes walk from my house and has become the traditional curtain raiser for the season. Plus it's a bloody good piss up.

The £20 deal to watch U's v Ipswich and Norwich 4 days apart is a good deal. I hope they market that well.

Ours are officially released tomorrow morning, although most matches have been unofficially announced. I'd like to think we'll host a Premier League or Championship side, probably Sunderland again.

Bit underwhelmed by that if I'm totally honest. Would've liked a big London team to come over to mark us getting back in the league. Peterborough is expected really with Fry there, but MK Dons? Hmm. Would rather go all out for someone like Palace or Watford. Hell even Brentford would've been decent!

You may be pleasantly surprised with that Palace suggestion in the next week of two...

It is a disgrace that we are charging our local clubs, the one good thing is as usual with Cumbria sport stuff its been leaked and while our fans are some of the most negative you can find a plus here is its good ammunition for our fans to slate and slate and slate them off until it will finally be dropped by the owners in a big backdown.

their argument no doubt will be that of course prem clubs charge us, but what they will forget is a reason we follow small clubs is to not be like that corporate money-grabbing clap-trap.

at well it means a good 2 weeks for our fans to slate our owners until they drop the fee..........we like reasons to slate our owners

I agree it's fairly shocking, but I bet that most clubs do it. Given that it helps establish scouting networks around a region, you might have thought it would be the other way around.

I thought you didn't need any more reasons to slate your owners.

Ours are dull as shite.

Saturday 11th July – Boreham Wood (a) 3pm
Sunday 12th July – Lowestoft Town (a) 2.30pm
Tuesday 14th July – Thurrock (a) 7.45pm
Thursday 16th July – Hitchin Town (a) 7.45pm
Saturday 18th July – Peacehaven & Telscombe (a) 3pm
Monday 20th July – Gosport Borough (a) 7.45pm
Saturday 25th July – Coventry City (H) 3pm
Tuesday 28th July – Brentford (H) 7.45pm
Saturday 1st August – Walsall (H) 3pm
Monday 3rd August – TBC (Beds Premier Cup final)
Wednesday 5th August – Dunstable Town (a) 7.45pm
Saturday 8th August – League 2 season starts

We did apparently have one away to Royal Antwerp lined up before they hit severe financial difficulties. Antwerp came to us last summer and their fans were absolutely spectacular, genuinely put to shame any set of fans from this country I've ever encountered, so that would have been a great weekend trip/piss up. Alas, we'll have to make do with Gosport.

Gosport comes halfway through your Pre-Season Friendly season, so you might beat them. Eleven pre-season matches? Is this a summer league or something?

That would be great then! Wasn't sure if there would be any others added, it looks quite packed out considering the size of squad we're apparently aiming for. Guess that the kids'll be rolled out for the smaller ones though.

Nothing too exciting, but the final 3 games should be quite challenging, and get the players ready for the new season.

we always need more reasons as the most miserable fans in the FL.

and us at home for Bradford must be thrilling.........but its nice to see that game back it seemed a sort've bizarre yearly tradition to have Bradford away.

Funny enough when MA was here we played Palace pre-season so I would not be at all surprised,

We also used to have Puncheon and Bolasie so it would be really great to see them back. I bloody loved Puncheon when he was with us.

I've liked your post mainly due to your fantastic avatar - keep up the good work.

Makes it worse that you will probably be our only home friendly according to our local rag.

Nothing against Carlisle but can't remember the last time we had a decent home friendly. We played Man City about 8 years ago but even then it was the Samaras and Martin Petrov years.

Your gaffer managed franchise a few years ago. He can expect the usual reception from us when we play you. Welcome back by the way ... that's the fans, not your manager!

Is the Daggers fan (sorry, can't remember who it was) running the PSF league again this year? That was fun and I expect the Carlisle and Pools fans will compensate for the Gills being ineligible.

we don't either only preston and oldham, neither that interesting.

I suppose what you have to look at is they are good to test the team, which is more important than playing a bunch of top flight youth players infront of 10,000 day trippers.

they should just make it £1-2 to get in, they won't make money regardless, just make it some sort've openday let kids go behind scenes on a matchday....kickabout with players on pitch afterwards etc, etc

Millwall, Nottingham Forest and a Tottenham XI at home and St. Neots and Wealdstone away. We've also been invited to play a Sevilla B team over in Spain for some reason.

We are playing Burnley away now so fck knows what's happening. Would have been more traditional to play them at home. You will be the only ones to test out the relaid pitch after last season's abomination so maybe we're hoping you don't run about much on it.

Its getting that boring right now, I am actually looking forward to the friendlies. I think the clubs plans are working, if we sign a player before Monday I may die of shock in the process. Please, can we return to football.

We've announced a home friendly against the mighty Owls, which means our schedule now looks like this:

Middlesbrough (H) – Saturday 11th July (12 noon)
Darlington 1883 (A) – Tuesday 14th July (7.00pm)
Leeds United (H) – Wednesday 15th July (7.00pm)
Sheffield Wednesday (H) – Saturday 18th July (3.00pm)
Newcastle United (H) – Wednesday 29th July (7.45pm)
FC Halifax Town (A) – Saturday 1st August (3.00pm)

That's a decent mix of challenging fixtures from higher level sides and games we have half a chance of winning, and all the home games should see a decent turn-out of away fans. Quite happy with those and will probably attend most of them.

We travel to Arnold Town next Wednesday, really is just like another training session though - we use their ground as a training ground.
