Went along to Arnold tonight, good fun with a pint in the sunshine but don't really know what you can learn from a game against opposition of that standard.
First half we pretty much played 4-2-4, with Stead and Spencer right up top and Jenner/Valencic pretty much with them, worked at times but also seemed a little bit forced - although we should've scored more than the one we did, which was Stead flicking in a Spencer cross. They defended pretty well, to be fair, and the 'keeper made four or five great saves. Was particularly impressed by Jenner on the right, who could beat his man easily and had a decent final ball.
The second half was just silly when we changed the entire eleven against an Arnold side who only made a couple of subs, the pace we brought on in Campbell, de Silva and Snijders was too much and we scored seven. De Silva took all four of his goals really well and hit the post, Campbell and Snijders both looked lively and trialist Stanley Aborah played really well in midfield.
Only bad thing is that we have no idea whether either of the trialist 'keepers can catch a ball or not after that.
