City's full pre-season fixture list:
July 2 - Gainsborough Trinity (A)
July 12 - TBC (N)
July 16 - Hartlepool United (A)
July 19 - TBC (A)
July 23 - Blackburn Rovers (H)
July 26 - TBC (H)

City XI side:
July 13 - Sleaford Town (A)
July 20 - Lincoln United (A)
August 2 - Eastbourne Borough (A)

Shame we're not playing Lincoln United on a Saturday again, that was a staple of our pre-season schedule and swelled the coffers of them.

The Eastbourne Borough one is presumably tied to the deal for Charlie Kendall but a weird time to have it, three days into the season albeit a Lincoln XI.
July 12th is Sheffield United behind closed doors, presumably because the last time we tried to play them it got postponed on police advice, off the back of fighting the season or two before!

I make that 3 teams

Is that Rushden and Diamonds? Blast from the past!
My bad, Rushden & Diamonds. I think they reformed after the bloke who bankrolled them to the EFL left and they went bust. They are called AFC Rushden & Diamonds now. That's a big chant for a little team. :fl:

Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th June Loughborough University Training Camp

Tuesday 28th June - 19.45 - Melksham Town A

Saturday 16th July - 13.00 – Swindon Supermarine A

Saturday 23rd July – 15.00 – Newport County H

Four friendlies against really decent opposition, but these are behind closed doors

Wolverhampton Wanderers
Swansea City
Coventry City
Bristol City

To say that our fans, at least those who post on the club forum, are unhappy is a bit of an understatement.

I'm starting to think that our club don't care about the fans and are utterly clueless about what we want.

Don’t get why so many games are behind closed doors. Literally 1 game against decent opposition, and only 2 away games so no paydays for the likes of Slimbridge, Shortwood, Brimscombe etc.

We’ve got Rochdale away but not announced anything else. We are going to Spain for a training camp so maybe organising something out there.

Apparently the games against Wolves, Swansea, Bristol & Coventry are being played on the training pitch, hence no fans.
But FGR supporters have the chance to watch team play Newport who they only played in March and who they will play once again this season in the Pizza Trophy!!!!!!!

Are there any Barnsley fans on here? If so, can they confirm if yesterday's game was a full 90 mins? Same with Ipswich fans - I'm sure I read elsewhere one was a 60 minute runaround.

We are playing Wycombe and Cambridge but behind closed doors which is a shame .

A few would have probably gone to both games .

Apparently we won't be having any home friendlies given our season didn't end till the end of May and we've had the Robbie Williams concert a week later. The pitch needs all the time it can get. We have only announced a match at local non league side Kidsgrove and another at Rochdale. We are also in Spain for a week so can't see us having too many with a close season of just 2 months and 2 days.

Yes, our game was a 60 minute match. Completely different 11 second half as well

Decent run out tonight in our first pre-season friendly at Longridge. Two separate starting XI’s for each half, won 9-0.

Beat Melksham 3-0 goals from Little, Matt and March. Two different xi’s mixture of first team, youth and trialists, one of who was George McEachran apparently.

I have made a start on the League One PSF League table, currently topped by Bolton on goal difference after their 9-0 win over Longridge tonight. If people could post their results on here it would help me greatly. Some basic rules:

1. The game must be a first-team game. Obviously, a lot of trialists and whatnot will be used, but if it's an academy team with no first-team players involved then it will not count
2. The game must be a standard 90 minute match consisting of two 45 minute halves (Ipswich's 60 min runout last Saturday therefore does not count).
3. As teams play a different number of games, the final table will be based on points per game. If that is tied, then it will go to the team with the most points overall, then goal difference, etc...
4. A reminder this is only a bit of fun and winning the pre-season friendly title really doesn't mean shit.

Wrong, yes this matters a lot!

Hopefully we can get a few more pub teams on our schedule to boost up that GD.

At the moment we only have 6 points we can get with 2 games!

The first official table will be published on Monday because I think most teams will have played at least 1 game by then.

We've only got 3 PSF's this year and all are away. I presume becuase we are hosting 4 games from the womens Euro's, so I doubt we are going to be very high up the PSF league!!!

Oh well. I like football and I like women so that's a few evenings sorted. Cheap too. £10 for the group games and £15 for the semi final.

Yeah according to Burchnall we are. Not only did the club schedule most of our pre-season behind closed doors they also haven’t even officially given dates for those fixtures.

We have 5 at the moment, but 2 are behind closed doors and haven't been announced yet.

To be confirmed. Are we scrabbling around for someone to play or will it be the Cross Keys pub team over on Woughton Green?
