Beat Halifax away 3-2 Pope and Wozza with a brace.

Decent workout. Got to find 11 to play Nuneaton tomorrow now as our youth lads are in Devon on a training camp!

A Bury XI featuring one senior player (Tom Aldred) won 3-1 away at Rhyl. Not sure it will he classed as a first team friendly as it was mainly youth players plus a few young first teamers such as Tsun Dai and Saul Shotton.

Everton at home tomorrow, can’t see them bringing a strong side as they are away in Austria on a training camp, could be wrong though.

Crewe played 2 games tonight with mixed teams at both games.

Beat 8th tier Kidsgrove 2-1 with the stronger team, lost 1-0 to Bala of the Welsh Premier League.

Now got a game on Friday night away at Altrincham. Should be a decent run out.

We lost 1-0 to Ipswich tonight. A bit odd, watching two Crawley wingers warming up for Ipswich...if only Jordan Roberts and Gwion Edwards were still Crawley players.

Martin Briggs played for us in the second half. No doubting his talent but...?

Milsom, Whelpdale, Turley and Young still around plus a couple of other trialists. Sessay (ex Watford?) Tarryn (ex Colchester?) Mammou (god knows poss French)

Ipswich were better than us and we still look to take three touches where one would do.

Leeds had pretty much their strongest team out, give or take, so as you'd expect they beat us, but to only lose 2-1 was a decent effort. Decent crowd of over 3k as well, with over a third of that from them. Cos Leeds are massive we gave them a proper stand under a roof, and they slightly outsung us.

Bielsa v Cooper in the dug out, you don't see that too often. Bielsa apparently watched every minute of our friendlies v Brimscombe & Thrupp and Weston, must have been a bit of a shock to the system lol.

First pre-season game I've been to in about 10 years, mate had a spare ticket so thought I might as well. Wouldn't have paid 13 quid though, what a rip off.

We lost 1-0 at Alty. I've always said friendly results are meaningless.

Benfica gave us a footballing lesson today by the sound of it. Final score 5-0 to the Portuguese.

We had Hull at 11am in a hastily arranged friendly after the Lincoln United one got cancelled.

No news other than both sides played further trialists.

Well, I hope pre season fixtures don't have much to do with the real season.

Crawley played a behind closed doors friendly against Arsenal today. Obviously behind closed doors means I couldn't go but it's all about fitness and the shape of the team.

There's a debate about the result but these things don't matter...oh you want to know the score...oh ok.

10-0. The Arsenal website says 9-0

Not to us I hasten to add.

The only saving grace was it was four goals for Lacazette and four goals for Aubameyang.

Their goes our confidence...up the new arsehole we have just had ripped.

3-1 up over Derby, both playing strong squads.

Don't think Derby have played anyone decent yet, though

It’s funny because Notts County lost 4-0 against the same team that Mansfield are beating 3-1.

As dumb as it sounds, you were playing against genuine world class players... 9-0 is about right. We got beat 6-0 by Rangers but drew 0-0 with a stronger Liverpool side... it’s all about performance in these games... You can’t take anything out of a game where you’ve come up against Aubamayang and Lacazette.

Don't really look at pre-season scores for other teams tbh

Though, my original statement remains true :fl:

Bury 1-1 Everton.

Everton dominated the game as expected they played all their star players bar Pickford. They hit the post 5 times.

Not a bad week of results holding both Merseyside giants to draws.

Chester, Radcliffe and Southport next.

Our fitness levels did look good tonight and a few encouraging performances from some young players from the youth team. First and last friendly for me though so we will see what it’s like against Newport on the opening day...

We drew 2-2 with Swindon Supermarine, goals from Ogunleye and Laird. Our captain Lee Collins made his first appearance of pre-season which is good news.
