Pre Season friendly thread

Have Crewe played anyone above about Conference North/South level? Every result seems to be against Aberystwyth Town or Shepshed United etc!

They played half of Burnley but strangely not a single EFL Level side aside, Wrexham being the highest the rest below the NL which is unusual prep certainly. Not the ideal preparation for the League in theory with very little test.

Well Burnley is clearly a good test, and Wrexham you would think aren't too far below league 2 but it doesn't seem as strenuous a test as you would have wanted in my opinion.

We were flying in the table but then came a cropper when we played Birmingham and Coventry who were both too strong for us.

Our newly formed ladies team beat Barton Town ladies 15-2 on Sunday, surely that counts?

We're sending an Orient XI to Canvey Island tonight - No idea if you want to include this or not.

The fact that I'm not going should give a good indicator of what sort of team we will be putting out...............A very youthful one with a few trialists.

Last pre season friendly tonight against Melksham Town, mainly our second team, won 6-0

Beat Colwyn bay 5-1 and a youth team beat Sandbach 4-2.

Glad we will be playing in L1 pre-season next year after our glorious pre-season promotion. Shame Crewe pipped us to the championship trophy but it's the automatic spots which matter at the end of the day.
I think we may struggle against better opposition than taunton and weston-super-mare next year but you never know, we may be able to raise our game against the likes of Weymouth and Poole.
