I can confidently predict that we won't start with 12 players on the pitch!!!

Sounds like we're about to sign two new wingers so I'm thinking 5 at the back is going to be very unlikely too.

Hahahaha!! Fuck sake. I've just got back from Amsterdam, clearly left my brain in one of the 'shops' over there!!!

Luton.. 5-3-2 I think.

Tyler in goal.
O'Donnell and Griffiths wing backs.
Wilkinson McNulty and Cuthbert 3 centre halves.
Smith and Doyle sitting in front of them with McGeehan just in front.
Pelly Ruddock wide right, McQuoid down the middle and Marriott wide left.

Who knows though, lots of business to be done still
I can't see Marriott having enough about him to start for you, though I may be wrong.

Strikers in L2 must be shitter than I thought then. Jesus :dk:

Or Macca is better than you give him credit for. Voted our player of the season the year we pissed the Conference too. He can't turn or run but he can do everything else very, very well.

Not too sure for ours, especially the defence. No matter what team Curle picks this season he'll be called 'the tinkerman' by some of our fans.

GK Gillespie

RWB Miller
CB Atkinson
CB Raynes
CB Grainger
LWB Brough

DM Joyce
CM Kennedy
CM Dempsey

ST Ibehre
ST Wyke

Subs: Hanford, McQueen, Meppen-Walter, Hery, Balanta, Asamoah, Rigg

Think that team looks alright, midfield is solid, as is the attack. The defence still looks a little shady, and no doubt Curle will start Grainger. I'd like to see another centre half brought in, and I think we'll have to get rid of Archibald Henville for that to happen.

At the moment I'd guess

GK Krysiak

LB Dickson
CB Arthurworrey
CB Sowunmi
RB Tozer

LW Compton
CM Laird
CM Dolan
CM Dawson
RW Gibbons

ST Jeffers

Need a few more signings (a second striker would be good!) to get people in their usual positions but it's looking half decent

I hope for your sake you dont put Tozer at RB. He is a CB all day long. Can provide cover at RB but gets found out there.

Put Troy in for Raynes and that team looks pretty darn good. Any team with Dempsey in and a reasonably solid defence has got a chance in this league.

I think we will line up like this - 4-2-3-1

Jones
Stevens Robinson Burgess Webster
Doyle Dunne
Bennett Roberts Naismith
Tubbs
I think we will sign a rb so if thats the case i can see Webster playing cb and burgess on the bench.

Pompey's team looks very good indeed. Solid squad depth too looking at some of the names being excluded from that XI. Could maybe do with another striking option to cover Tubbs, I assume McGurk will be used as one of the three behind the main striker.

I think another striker will be bought in, the local rag is reporting that paul cook is assessing craddock , had alot of injuries for us. McGurk probaly will be in the 3 and to be completly honest theres been so much movement I completly forgot about him lol

Carroll
? - Bennett - Hollis - Adams
Noble - Swerts - Milsom
? - Spencer - ?

Suspect we may sign another centre back to start alongside one of those two as well. More work to do than most others, but expecting to sign four by the end of the week. One of the two wingers will probably be Jenner.

I dunno now. Maybe we'll go 4-4-2...

Carroll
Amevor - Bennett - Hollis - Adams
Snijders - Milsom - Swerts - Jenner
Spencer - Stead

More likely that we're going to rotate Stead and Spencer, sign another striker who can play wide (CMS), have Amevor at centre back and sign a right back, though. I think.

Carroll
New RB - Amevor - Hollis - Adams
Noble - Swerts - Milsom
Snijders - Stead - Jenner

Is basically what I'd bet on opening day currently, although I've got no idea how many more signings we intend to make and how many will be leaving etc... Having players like Thompson and Spencer in reserve is pretty terrific as I think both would be top League 2 players, just can't fit them in the team (although if *I* were picking the team I'd put both in somehow)

How good we are is basically going to entirely depend on a) how good this Amevor fella really is and b) how good those two wingers outside the striker are, not convinced it'll necessarily even be Jenner and Snijders as first choice yet. Rest of the team looks very strong, especially through the middle.
