Nah, he signed for Blackpool from Stocksbridge Park, then LFc took him last year. First player to come from NL to cost over 1m
At least you got the last bit right.........

Check Wikipedia. Or just google him, it's all over the web. He was the first player to score in the NL, FL and PL

Back on topic, Leicester to finish above Man U again, whoever the manager is.

I believe Liverpool could fight for the PL title next season, taking advantage the fact they will not play in european competition.

However they will not win because of manchester teams and coachs.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea will make the second group with some distance from the top 3.

The next 3 clubs will be Leicester, Southampton and West Ham fighting for the last european berth!

At the bottom I believe Crystal Palace and Sunderland will be relegated, and a close fight between West Brom, Sheffield/Hull and Bournemouth.

I'm going to say that in a duel between Liverpool and both Manchesters vs Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea (best mates all teaming up) the London clubs finish higher.

1. Man City - Pep will be like a pill
2. Liverpool - No Euro football, good progress under Klopp. They'll blow teams away in a 10-game winning streak at some point but buckle towards the end
3. United - Reasonable first season under JoMo but no real title challenge, like his first in his return to Chelsea
4. Arsenal - we'll cling on
----
5. Spurs - will struggle to balance CL football and will miss out on more on the last day, even though it'll seem certain they won't
6. Southampton - superb team, ended the season in inspired form and will carry on into this one without losing any key players
7. Chelsea - it's a pretty big rebuild job imho, Conte will come good but it won't be an easy season. Can't see them doing a Leicester
8. Leicester - they won't be found out, they'll just suffer a lot of Euro hangovers and the league will lose its lustre
9. West Ham - think they'll do well in Europe but stutter in the league
10-17 - don't care
18. Boro - idk why
19. Bournemouth - not a disaster, they'll come straight back up
20. Watford - been awful 2nd half of the season

imo

This will finally be the season where Arsenal drop out of the top four, what do you think to that?

No. It will not happen. It will never happen until Weng goes.

Big Weng invariably delivers a top four finish but next season he has to deal with Big Mou, Big Cont, Big Poch, Big Klopp, Big Pep and possibly Big Ran Ran.

It's a big season.

Srsly tho, we finished 2nd (table doesn't lie) and have finished in the top 4 since the time of Christ. Yeah other teams will improve but that much? It was only last summer that United fans here were looking at a title challenge because you'd signed Depay and Schweinsteiger, and they and your manager turned out to be shit. I think the changes in the table will be significant but not *that* significant.

Getting Xhaka in is a good start for them though, he'll help them big time.

Going on Smat's point about Depay, what the heck happened to him though, he looked amazing in Holland and has the talent. Lazy and just wants to buy motors and get more money though? It an attitude problem?

This could be our year. A few signings in the right positions and it'll be time to make a "Swans for top four" thread

[On Depay]
He's not that good. I mean he's good, but he's not as good as he was hyped to be but that's probably due to the fact he's taking the number 7 shirt. He made better use of his pace in Holland and you get a lot more space to run in the Eredivisie, it's why attackers from Holland are gambles. I was going to say he'll probably push on under Mourinho but he's not got much patience with erratic performers. I'm thinking Schurlle or Cuadrado who didn't hit the ground running and soon found themselves elsewhere. If Depay gets off to a good start under Jose he could fulfill some of that potential, but Mourinho won't give him much leeway to dip in his form, he can't afford to.

A full back or two, a couple of wingers and a central player. Do that and we're on.

he undoubtedly has some talent and has shown it in a couple of brief spells but not enough. He looks shot of confidence on the ball and it's hard to get any rhythm when you're in and out of the side and hard to show anything when you get 5 or 10 minutes at the end of the game. I wanty him to be given another season and a run in the side to see what he can actually do under a manager which doesn't stifle his players

We finished the season so poorly once survival was secured, and we looked so shattered having achieved that, that I can't deny it's a worry ahead of next season.

It's clear that for some of our long term players who've been with us since L1, whilst they can perform up here on their day, over an entire season it's asking a lot.

So the big question is, can Howe move some of them on and blend new players in, without destroying the team ethic that we have, our one big advantage over some more mercenary clubs up here. It's a challenge.

I reckon Burnley will stay up with their second bite at it.
I reckon Palace are going to continue struggling and will be in danger.
I think Watford will have a worse season than last and will perhaps regret losing QSF.
Sunderland will be safe boring mid table.

Fuck the fence-sitting bollox, I'm going to be (a little more) adventurous for once:

Leicester City to narrowly miss out on winning the title again.
Crystal Palace to be relegated next season.
Burnley top-half finish.
Chelsea to flop again
Liverpool to make the top 4

I have no idea. Next season feels ridiculously unpredictable. Chelsea, us, United, Arsenal (XHAKA), City and probably even Tottenham are bang on to have a better season next year. Leicester I'm not so sure, first time in Europe tends to take its toll.

Well if that's the case you already know the top 4 next season. Arsenal top followed by Spurs, Man City and Man Utd in the last CL spot. Your lot anywhere between 5 and 7th and Chelsea to be 6th to 9th.
