We made a poor start too.

Miles better than us though, we were bottom of the league in October.

Plus you spent like £10m...

Carvalho out.

What's the fascination with fans on here who support half decent sides claiming they're shit...?

Is 4 wins in 16 half decent?

I think even James had a bit of optimism pre Xmas, since then we've been a bag of wank.

Being in the play-offs with 7 games to go is decent.

The Derby self loathing on here is ridiculous at times. Dread to think what your fans would be like if you were actually shit.

Like Bobbin said, still in the POs and may bloody well be at the end of the season. Again, if you were genuinely shit the reaction from some of your lot on here would be outrageous.

This league has been a really poor standard this season I think. Not seen one team play really really well.

Come on Bobbin, we both know it's not that simple. There's only 4 teams with worse form over the past 16 games, so a place above relegation form. A point and place above you. Is that decent?

If we finish 6th of course I'll be pleased but we have been far from decent since Christmas, the record start is what is keeping us up there for now. Who knows, we might fluke ourselves to the PL as that's what the play offs are all about, but we're not in a good state for promotion IMO.

We've had plenty of years of shite on here, James is pretty much always been the same so people should be wiser when they get annoyed by him, the optimism has faded from myself and others after what is looking like the third capitulation in a row. We were good 3 years ago, very good. We're not anymore, despite the investment.

Not remotely fella. We've conceded just once since then and won our last three. Soon Tom will be paying his bet up

We've been poor for so long now it's actually boring. Two seasons now we've been In Strong positions for promotion automatically and we've self inflicted to ruin the chances.

I can take over achieving but being a Derby fan isn't nice - several years of mid table obscurity under Clough was hard but fine because it was all about the future and building the club. McLaren comes in and we rocket up the league playing some excellent football. we lose to last minute play off winner despite being the better team but remain confident of a top 2 finish. Top at Christmas time but implode by mclaren being tapped up by Newcastle.

Summer 2015 comes and we stupidly spend massive on to copy teams such as QPR and Fulham did to raise expectations. We buy to build individuals rather than a team. Top around Christmas and 6 games without a win,l and all hell breaks loose - sacking a manager because he didn't play 'the Derby way'. We employ 'the best motivator at the club' to finish the job who can see positives in absolutely everything treating the fans as mugs. Simultaneous to that our form once again goes to shit. Not only is it painful watching the team play, but it's even worse when you know that those players cost a shit loads of money and could be detrimental to FFP in the next few years, leading to more bloody problems. Oh and included in that is having the best away form In the league to no wins at all under waffle other than 1 game against Brentford who were dreadful. Throw in blowing a 3-0 lead in 8 minutes or so and being a Derby fan is bloody horrific.

I don't want us to be in the play offs because I'll spend hard earned money to see the team flop. But it's ok because waffle will come out after and find the positive in another team beating us.

No other team has recently seen such an implosion so many times in consequence seasons. In fact some fans on here predicted it but Im pretty positive they did so in a joking manner.

So yes, forgive the Derby fan for being bloody negative about our chances.

I'd say standard is pretty good, its unpredictable with teams at bottom capable of beating top teams, Charlton beating Boro and Rotherham beating Hull being good examples.
Even Bolton who have been rooted to bottom most of season are capable of playing some good stuff like they did at Hillsborough.

I was impressed with your own team when you beat us 1-0 a few weeks ago.

You have an owner who has spent absolute shit loads on your squad, most teams in this league could only dream about spending the sorts of money you have.

You've not been anywhere close to the relegation zone, you're constantly fighting at the top end of the championship aswell.

Sorry mate, but it really could be a lot worse.

The standard isn't terrible, there have been worse seasons in recent times, but it's not exactly been good. I haven't seen a team and thought they are ready for the Prem or anything.

I mean, Burnley and Middlesbrough are supposed to be the two best teams in the league, but we're bottom half and have gotten 7 points from our 3 games against them.

Appreciate you've been inconsistent and have probably underachieved but so have a lot of other teams.

You have probably the best squad in the league and going into the final month of the season you are amongst the top 6 sides in the division so to describe yourselves as 'dreadful' or 'a bag of wank' is just silly.

That's just looking from the outside in though mate, some might say your protests are silly but then they don't really know the facts and I didn't until I read one of your replies re: Lamby where you documented it. I imagine if fans from other clubs had sat and watched what we have with all the controversial goings on added on top they would probably be feeling the same. It's easy to just say we've got a really good squad and we're 6th. 20 million spent and we're no better despite the personell brought in, half of them either don't play or don't fit the way we play.

Don't get me wrong, it's no where near as bad as some seasons we've had in the past but with the standards set and the investment we have made we have been awful. If I could see some sort of direction or improvement I wouldn't be half as disappointed but we've been on a slow and steady decline since about mid November. Poor decisions all season from recruitment to managerial appointments.

7 games to salvage something from this season, bar this weekend we've kept teams at an arms length despite our poor form (Probably down to Cardiff's/Ipswich's inconsistency and Birmingham's even worse form more than anything). With some big games coming up (Hull, Wednesday, Brighton and Ipswich) and Cardiff now breathing down our necks we're going to have to improve significantly to hold onto 6th spot.

I've predicted from the start we'd implode. Expected it, but I'm still equally as pissed off that we've actually let it happen again.

We should not be this awful, but we are. Offically one of the worst teams in this division right now.

Your second paragraph is my point, no-one is denying that you have underachieved but you are by no means 'dreadful'.

Other sides in this league have also wasted money or made poor decisions, look at ourselves, Leeds, Bolton for example and then look at your league position compared to theirs and what you can still achieve compared to them.

We are though, Bobbin. Our players are supposedly challenging for promotion, yet they look disinterested and completely void of any motivation. It's absolutely pathetic.

We have been dreadful since Xmas though, that's my point. To be fair to yourselves, Leeds and Bolton you haven't collapsed 3 seasons running from very, very good positions. I probably wouldn't mind as much if we'd flirted around 6th all season but to go top with the start we had and then turn in to the shower we have been recently is unacceptable.

It's the one extreme to the other that I can't accept.

If we play anything like we have been doing recently down at your place in a couple of weeks then you might be able to comprehend why so many of us are so pessimistic at the moment. I actually thought it might just be us lot on here rubbing off on each other but a quick look at our forum shows it's a fair old few that feel this way.

Look, I don't watch Derby on a weekly basis like you chaps do. Perhaps you don't play the greatest football or the sort you would like to see but I can go by the stats (facts) and what you are/have been doing is currently better than that of 18 other sides in this division.

From my point of view, coming on here to read comments from supporters of a side who are at the right end of the table and with a very realistic chance of being in the PL next season claiming they are dreadful whilst supporting a side that actually is, is quite irritating.

It don't look that bad from all the way down here lads.
