Not often I agree with Ben but this is spot on, would much rather be watching my team play like Cardiff do than the boring, sterile, insipid losing shit I'm currently watching.

We got stuck with the Longball tag under Wilkinson in the 80s but it was exciting and often very successful, get the ball forward quickly and get wingers to get crosses into the box.
Don't get me wrong the winning football we had under Atkinson was much more pleasing than the Wilkinson style, but winning games is fantastic and that style is often more exciting to watch than many football "purists" will admit.
I love you too baby.

Nah, just pointing out your attempts to lure in one of us to have a dig.

We're on a bad run but hardly choking, I think we all knew we were punching when we were up in second. We were probably the most clinical team in the league pre Christmas, winning games we shouldn't have. Now that's levelled out a bit we're dropping back to our expected levels.

Hopefully we'll pick up a bit and hang in the top 6, would be a good achievement for Rowett in his first full season.
You say all this yet you have won how many in the last 10???

Villa as a club need to be in the premier league. Money is one reason, but I also think it's important for a club like us to be making a challenge, and trying to be one of the top clubs again. I'm hoping with our new owner we have a chance of at some point challenging the top 6 again. I will admit though my desire for us to get back in the prem, is not as strong as say Leeds fans who have been out of it for so long. If we still had Lerner, or someone else who weren't bothered about ambition, but just wanted to cash in by not getting relegated from the prem, then I'd say fuck it. I am very intrigued to find out how high our owner wants to genuinely take us, so it will be exciting if we go back up, I hope. I will miss the championship though. Proper fans, more competitive, and in some small ways it's like how football used to be a few years back.
That's the same with any club tho playa

How is it a pathetic turnout when it's a sellout? We could have sold 10 thousand tickets if they gave it us. Don't talk shite.

2.

11th in the form table for that period, which isn't miles off of where this team was expected to finish. No hiding from the fact that it's a poor run but it was always going to happen. Everyone's had a dip, we were due one.

We’re an absolute joke. Not sure we’ll win another game all season.

Too early to rule any of the top 9 out really, although you do look ominously stalled. Desperately need to sort something out. Good win for Cardiff to keep their pace over Villa. A win tomorrow for us and a draw with Villa would be a decent return going into the two home games I'd say. Although think going to an expectant Villa Park actually plays to our strengths (baring in mind I am posting this Tuesday)

Fuck knows how we hung onto that in the end, Barnsley were well worth a point in that game. Another win though and that's all that matters.

Win or bust Saturday. Don't give a fuck who's playing where but if we don't do Burton that's it as far as I and the rest of the fanbase are concerned, big big game.

We were hanging on at the end there. Big result though Birmingham away isn't a place we do well. Into 6th going into Barnsley at home on Saturday.

Still ten games to go. That's nearly two full cycles of form. Ridiculous to put that sort of pressure on your team at this stage when you're only a point behind.

No it's not, we've had two wins in nearly three "cycles of form" so if we don't generate some momentum soon it'll be a stale end to the season.

I said a few weeks ago I thought us and Sheffield United have had it, we shall see.

Less than 16,000 Welsh at their game tonight. If there was ever a fanbase that didn't deserve promotion it's that one.
Come on Villa.

Totally deflating that. It's been a case of one step forward and two steps back since Christmas. We just can't get any form going.

Burton, Ipswich, Barnsley our next three. Seven points minimum needed.

It's all in your head, then, innit. How long have you been going to football. Whether your intuition is correct or not, losing to Burton doesn't end your season. You're pessimistic because you're trying to pre-emptively soften the blow of missing out, but that doesn't mean there's any reality to any of it.

Considering we're the anti-christs of football and are complete thugs that go out to injure opponents while also doing nothing but hoof it I'd say 16k on a Tuesday is decent.

15 years, not that it means anything.

I'm pessimistic because we're on a truly awful run, have had injuries all season, now have more injuries and suspensions on top of those.

I conceded that we wouldn't make a few months back and I do believe that.

It means you've seen enough to know that things can change quickly and it's far from over yet.

Neil Harris and Millwall are developing a tidy little side, don't think they'll be struggling at the bottom like some people are suggesting.

Sheffield United, I wouldn't be surprised to see make a challenge for the top 6. Remind me a little of us when we came up and finished 9th. Popular manager, tight knit group, good momentum after romping the league below etc.

Must admit, wasn’t expecting Milllwall to do THIS well.
