Did you see that tweet from our keeper he banished. ‘I don’t hate anyone apart from that bloke and his sidekick. Made me hate coming to work and hate what I used to love’.

I suppose, giving him the benefit of the doubt, the shower of mainly shite he recruited was the result of the budget he was given, but I doubt it.

If I was your owner I’d get rid soonest. Any compo must be less than the budget he’d waste.

All you’ve got to do is read a bit of this from stagsnet -

At the risk of a whooosh, Accrington didn’t beat Crawley this season. In fact they lost both games.

But, yeah, we really should have won that.

Wycombe *should* pick up 3 points at the Proact, but how much will the Accy defeat have taken out of them? Will Akinfenwa be fit? Will the Spireites at least want to show some kind of fight in front of their own fans before what looks an inevitable relegation?

Well whilst we're perfectly capable of screwing up our own game without any outside help, there are rumblings of pitch invasions/protests on the Chesterfield forum.

I'm well aware what a load of hot air and bullshit gets spouted on messageboards, so take it with a pinch of salt.

But.

Should for whatever reason a pitch invasion happen during the game and then the game gets called off, it could be a "what happens now?" scenario, since we couldn't get a replay in on Tuesday given that Chesterfield are already playing then - and the following week the playoffs start.

I guess it would be on the Thursday? In one season in the early 90s I remember we twice played on a Thursday towards the end. Can't see it getting called off though, like you say take it with a pinch of salt.

Stanley could win the league tonight with just a point. Bit conflicted about this... Would be great to do it in front of home crowd on Saturday but also want us to go on and win everything and get to 99 points. Does mean I've got a reason to be happy regardless of the result though.

What difference is it between 97 and 99 you’re still going to win the league!

I didn’t realise until the other day that Luton came second in this division with 97 points back in the day.

Great win for Lincoln to effectively confirm a play-off place. Can't totally count them out of the race for third either, particularly with a decent goal difference. Asking a lot for three teams to drop enough points to let them in, though.

Coventry are more than capable of bottling that last play-off place I would say, but far less certain that Mansfield would be capable of taking advantage even if they did.

And they’re off to Accrington on Saturday.

If Lincoln could pull of a win there, Swindon could spoil their party

.Nope not going to happen!

Oddly enough we are something of a bogey side for Accy - 8 wins, 2 defeats, 2 draws - so stranger things have happened.

We now know where everything stands with 2 games to go. Accy still need a point to confirm the title. They'll have a chance to do it at home on Saturday, but Lincoln will be fired up trying to reign in the teams above them. But, even if they blow that, they'll have a chance to confirm it at Swindon the following Saturday, who themselves are wildly inconsistent and pretty pish at home. Still very much in Accy's hands.

Lincoln keep their slim automatic hopes alive, but it'll take a big swing in results in the next 2 for them to sneak into 3rd. Impressive win at the Ricoh for them, now they have a tough game at Accy. But then it's already safe Yeovil to finish.

Coventry will possibly have to settle for 7th, got 2 games against bottom half teams to get themselves into form ahead of the play offs. Who do they want to finish 4th? Wycombe and Notts County, with decent sized allocations, or Exeter with a couple hundred?

Exactly. For the good of football everyone should want us to go up automatically.

Why? If you get less points than Wycombe over 46 games you'll deserve to be in League 2 next season as we will if we cock it up.

Surely the rest of league 2 want rid of the cheating chancers that are Lincoln City, allowing them to see far more of the beautiful free flowing football served up by every side we've beaten this season.
Whichever way promotion goes, I'm sure the best side will thoroughly deserve it.

He was joking. It was in relation to a comment I made about how Coventry wouldn't want to play Exeter in the play offs because they'd only receive a tiny away allocation for the 2nd leg.

So if Luton are definitely in second on Saturday, there will be a presentation on the pitch from the EFL for medals etc.
I had no idea that this actually took place, I assumed it was just the team that won the league got this.

In 2002, the club received a circular trophy as runners up but don’t recall a presentation.

I’m hoping the play off places stay as they are right now just to see all the whinging posts from that away support obsessed Coventry fan when they only get allocated 350 tickets at Exeter.

When we came second in League One in 2006, the club received medals and a circular plate sort of award but these were a few days later rather than on the pitch.

Yep I think they realised that it was a bit weird that potentially the 7th placed team would get a trophy at Wembley for promotion but 2nd and 3rd get nothing.

Must win games this weekend for Wycombe, Exeter and Mansfield.

I don’t see Notts, Lincoln and Cov having must wins on Saturday but all would love a win naturally and we need a win to take it to the last game of the season but it’s a first time for a long time for those Stylish Magpies that we don’t have a must win.

You're just trying to ease the pressure. 100% a must win game for Notts. You can still go up via the autos

I could just about cope with coming fourth behind Wycombe. Losing out to Notts would be unforgivable.
