I will love him even more if he's new tie up with the Vale is something that will involve financial input as it appears (via shirt sponsorship)

Our last four games aren't particularly bad at all. It's just a four game spell in the middle where we have Colchester, out of form Forest Green, Vale and Northampton that looks difficult.

Newport, out of form Bradford, Grimsby and Cambridge for a last four games isn't as bad as it could've been.

I think we need 8 wins to go up. 4 of them can be achieved in our next 5 games on paper. But we'll need to beat FGR plus 1 of the 3 sides in the middle who seem to all have our number in recent seasons. Win 6 games between now and Good Friday and I'll back us to finish Top 3 comfortably.

Very doable. 4 games against teams in and around us, 3 at home where we've only lost once, the 4th away against Plymouth on the final day which introduces spice of its own. The rest against roughly mid to lowish table.

I'm targeting 7 wins and 1 draw and we should have a play off spot secured. Win all 6 home games and that could do it.

Askey has the squad in the mindset to kick on for autos. With four 6 pointers in the run in, it's mathematically possible. Crewe and Newport at home should be five figure home crowds if we carry on in this vein of form, Plymouth last day could be huge.

Mid-season around Christmas and the NY I thought we'd just miss out by a few points but we seem to be consistently hitting form at exactly the right time. The Shanahans really deserve this.
I love your optimism but let’s forget the auto’s for now please. Also it was only last month after the Salford cup game that we were all saying that we have no strength in depth! Funny how things change in football isn’t it?

Anyway, another big game today. Up the Vale x

It’s gone from saying “yeah we will be happy with giving it a go but falling just short as progress” to now being huge expectation to make the top 7, rightly so with our form post Xmas and missing out now would be a huge disappointment.

It’s not a bad run in as we’ve just played 6 against teams above us or Salford who’d spent big in Jan.

Crewe and Bradford at home isn’t too bad with our form at VP and we’ve already won at Cheltenham so won’t fear it although it will be a tough one.

Key is those games against the bottom half sides though, we’ve generally done very average against those but the games at home to Scunny, Grimsby, Crawley and Newport are going to be crucial to give us the best chance of making it.

6 wins and a couple of draws should do it, that would be a dip in post Xmas form to only achieve that so hopefully we can make it count.

Autos is a long shot but right to target it until the end to keep minds focused and avoid dropping off concentration which could cost us a top 7 place. Askey is being fairly smart there. Can’t see us getting ten wins to do it but nothing to lose in going for it.

Main aim the next few games is to cement our currently position and try and build a gap on 8th if possible.

Typical Vale over reaction, half that side 60 hours before had been chasing Man City around and players weren’t fresh who had come in. The injuries now cleared up hopefully at the right time as that bench today is going to be as good as a bench as we’ve had in a long time. If you want to keep your shirt you can’t drop off as you’ll have the likes of Taylor, Manny and Amoo breathing down your neck.

Great win for us against Exeter to stop the rot. Exeter didn’t really trouble us apart from 15 minutes in the first half but they didn’t test the keeper. Much much better and should have been 3 or 4.

We played really badly today, but I expect we will bounce back next week. We are mentally much stronger this year than previously and hungry to win.

Good day for the railway towns not so great for the pastie munchers.

Our record Vs the lesser teams is very good. Hopefully we carry that on next week at Morecambe. Then make it 8 straight wins at home Vs Stevenage.

We were pretty poor today and lucky to get a point.

Results elsewhere (other than Bradford) went against us as well, typical!

We’ve lost 27 points from winning positions. Probably top of that league based on that.

Good day for us with Exeter and Plymouth both dropping points. Get another 3 points next week and we'll be 3 points off 70 with 11 games to go. Excellent position to be in if we can get it.

Thought one or two would drop points but luckily most play each other next week and midweek so beat Scunny and we should be back in it and on course. Draw away and win at home and we won’t go far wrong... positive is when we’ve played that bad earlier in the season we have lost whereas today we ground it out and could of nicked it at the end.

Just those lost points... if we don’t go up this year it at least shows it’s small margins we just need to improve on to be right up there next.

We have 41 points from 33 games, 13 to go. Those 39 points (by winning every game) would give us 80 points; 79 points was enough for automatic promotion last season.

Just saying for a friend!

Has Exeters form dropped off?
Eh? We lost a game, we won the previous three. One of those wins was against Macclesfield, a team you failed to beat in midweek.
In fact, you have failed to win in two games, has your form dropped off?
