Nah it’s against us next Tuesday, original game postponed a couple of hours before kick off for safety as a bit of the roof had blown off I think.

Argyle have 2 games in the locker against Grimsby (H) and Macclesfield (A). If they were to win both of them against current standings it would put them top regardless of the extra game Crewe and Exeter have in hand over Swindon, if they were both to win as well (unless Exeter in the one game could overhaul the +8 GD Argyle have over them, so realistically something like 11-0 win might do it if Argyle only win their 2 in hand by the odd goal!). All ifs and buts however and points on the board are what counts at the moment.

So if in the top 4 they all win their games in hand it would be

Argyle 57 pts
Exeter 57 pts
Swindon 56 pts
Crewe 55 pts

Certainly nothing is firm at the top between those 4 especially with a few head to heads to come.

The good news for us is that after Saturday that's all our games done against the current top 4. I believe that the other 3 sides still have to play at least one of the other 2?

We're clinging on to a playoff spot with Cheltenham's and Newport's games in hand. That and our impending departures don't leave me very confident. Big few days for the club and Bowyer now.

A few weeks ago it looked like Swindon and Exeter had pulled away but now they are right back in the sights of us and Argyle, especially with the game in hand, albeit ours is a tough one away at Exeter.

Also a couple of weeks ago it was only a point that separated us from 8th place whereas now we have a 7 point gap to Cheltenham. Very interesting and some big games to come. 3 long trips two of which are Tuesday nights spring to mind for us at Exeter, Plymouth and Colchester.

The feeling mutual this weekend, and the Devon derby. Seems a little unfair, little old Crewe taking on the might of the West country.

Certainly looking like a very exciting end to the season. I can see the majority of the places going right to the wire.

As long as we don't finish 4th with Vale sneaking into 7th as I don't think I could cope with that.

We’re on a decent run but our games are coming thick and fast and we’re just showing signs of wear and tear. Our more difficult games on the horizon are all at home so that reassures me

It has not gone down very well in our house that second son has a weekend tournament for last game of the season near Bristol. Myself and two of the other dads are very seriously thinking of driving back for the game, and then go back up north again for their tournament. Son “you are going to leave me.” dad “yup.”

I suspect in reality we’ll try and find coverage somewhere and not return. So Argo it would be really helpful if you sort out automatics the week before.

Colchester, Vale and Swindon in quick succession for us was always going to be tough, and so it's proving. The rest of Feb after Swindon looks a bit easier (aside from Northampton) so still expect us to hang in there in the top 3, but getting very congested. Anything could happen. Beginning to seriously fret about Argyle's run.........

Massive to have beaten Exeter in a game ruined by the conditions. Our hardest game on paper is now Northampton away a week tomorrow. Surely to god it would be some fuck up for us not to get promoted from here!!

Vale are at Northampton on Saturday. Personally I just think it’s a bridge too far but if we are to keep tabs on the playoff spots we really need to take something from this game.

Sixfields was the scene last season of one of our more enjoyable away days in recent times coming from a goal down with 10 men to win and effectively avoid relegation. They are clearly better now and will provide a very tough test. Good news for us is it looks barring any setback Manny Oyeleke will be back in the squad for this game so that’s a huge boost with Jake Taylor to return soon after.
