No one has overly stood out against us but our record against the fellow challengers is relatively good, 4 points of FGR and Mansfield, beat Swindon and Bristol Rovers away, 2 draws with Tranmere and two grab games against Cobblers, Newport probably looked the best but the caveat there was our injury crisis meant we had a central midfielder as a lone striker and one winger… so essentially played with virtually no attack. Swindon looked decent but we had 10 men for most but their midfield looked very good.

We have yet to play Exeter so will have to judge them after that.

It’s clearly very tight and lots of changes in form and levels between the top 10. The top 7 look set to be from that top 10 now you’d think and any of them could get top 3 still with us and Mansfield having games in hand.

It’s shaping up to be the closest battle in the EFL this leagues promotion race.

You were very good against us, definitely in the top three
But they could be bottom on 0 points and they'd still look like Man City against us. I'd be surprised if it isn't the worst head to head record in the entire football league

After all the promotion chasing sides (bar Sutton and Mansfield) win in midweek, Newport start the weekend dropping points by losing at home to Hartlepool. Hopefully we can take advantage tomorrow at Crawley.

Because of how tight it is I think we are probably looking at around 78 points for top three and maybe 71 to get into the playoffs. I fully expect this to go to the final day at this rate.

71 seems a bit low, that would mean five wins would do it for us mind which with 11 left would be fairly achievable.

Exeters resident stat modeller predicts 78 will be enough for an auto spot on goal difference this year. 79 points gives you 70% chance of an automatic spot.

Hope he's right, that would mean three wins from ten need for us, which at the minute looks by no means given but the opportunities are plenty.

The vegans now just 5 clear. Not long ago when they were 15 clear I said we'd win the league. Berated by all and called deluded. Now it's happening and you've all got egg on your face.

Vale v Exeter has the potential to be a good one on Tuesday. They have the chance to narrow the gap to 2 points on FGR and we have a chance to gatecrash the playoff spots.

Problem is in this league nothing goes smoothly and it’ll bite you on the arse when you least expect like us at Oldham or Swindon today at Crawley.

You'll win comfortably I think, if we can even fill a squad anyway

FGR play Colchester on Monday though, don’t forget.

Vale Vs Exeter is a wicked fixture - hoping for an Exeter win tbh. Right now I’m viewing us, yourselves and possibly Swindon/Mansfield for that 3rd spot - based on form.

But honestly, anything could happen at this point

We will do our usual, beat Exeter and Sutton before defeats at Barrow, Salford and at home to Oldham! It’s typical Vale!

It’s anyones guess now who this will pan out. Any 7 of the top 10 could finish in any order it’s so close.

Despite being convinced FGR would comfortably make it even they look like they could be clawed back into the mix which would be incredible considering where they were.

If we are in the mix still at that point would imagine demand for tickets for that will be through the roof. From memory can have up to about 2400 including those sections down the side? No doubt our players will want to prove a point after the game at VP. Suspect DC won't be back for then so that should take some edge off from the Walsall side of things too.

Would be quite good for the West Country if FGR, us & Rovers all go up automatically with Swindon or Newport winning the PO'S. Coupled with potentially Oxford, Plymouth & Cheltenham in League 1. Some tasty games.

Rochdale were unbeaten in 11 or something at home so a better result than the table suggests.

It would be good for us northern clubs to get rid of all that travelling too!
