This is the way to celebrate.

Lol.

I remember after we beat Panama someone on twitter said jokingly that in an alternate universe where Sam Allardyce stays on as England manager, they would only beat Panama 1-0 with Wayne Rooney scoring a penalty in the 78th minute to give England a vital win after their horror show defeat off Tunisia.

Apparently there was an alternative universe article in today's Sun describing Allardyce's 2018 journey. Haven't been able to find it online and refuse point blank to buy that dirty rag.

More chance of Narnia existing than you lot lifting the World Cup next week. ;)
At least we are in the tournament salty. Even if we go out in semi’s we are proud of the lads and Southgate.
Scotland would be over the moon to just qualify so they can participate let alone ever getting to a World Cup semi final :gr:

He hasn't done a superb job - you've been faves in every game you've played except for Belgium. He's done standard.

Maybe you're right about the middle bit, but consider where we were two years ago, and look at the "easy" games we failed to win - Russia, Slovakia not to mention Iceland. Look at how well Southgate is man-managing and preparing the squad and you'll see that the factors behind our success are a good deal more subtle than getting the luck of the draw and beating teams we "should" be beating.

And OK I'll admit we have been lucky in the way the draw has panned out, but after the farce of WC 1982 when we won all our opening three games but got a harder route to the knockout stages than France who we comfortably dispatched but only had to play the mighty Austria and Northern Ireland, we deserve whatever luck we get. :)

Isn't it great that our soon not-to-be European neighbours can come on here and share our rare success, while the people we share our island with are full of bitterness.

I actually have shares in Ikea so I don't appreciate England fans damaging my bottom line

If most of this squad wasn't born and/or brought up in the NORTH and played in the lower leagues, I think my vaguely celtic (North Lancs/South Cumbria) heritage might have put me even closer to Aber and Salty.

I think this track captures my ambivalence, even discomfort, that I want this bunch of (mostly talented and hard working) millionaires to go down in history and set themselves up for life.....................but not very much. I'll enjoy it if it happens or doesn't but I'm not sure I share much of the motivation that seems to drive some of the England Supporters on here or on the streets of our fair country.
