Very brave taking on the club at such a young age, can't see it ending very well to be honest. He's getting a poor reputation now, and if he forced a move to a Real Madrid for example he'd be a bench warmer mainly. Not a great career move this.

Thats my feelings on it, he's only 20; I don't see why he can't stay for another couple of years at Liverpool, get his six figure per week salary, develop his game and fully begin to realise his potential and then move to some place where he could win things consistently and be a regular starter. I think he's jumping the gun, and his new agent isn't doing him any favours by not seeing this either. He doesn't need to show loyalty but he is gambling with his future if he does push this through.

Young players need to choose their destination wisely because they need different footballing experiences to grow as players. They need to play and make mistakes in order to develop. People are questioning whether City would offer him that. Liverpool are offering that and people are saying it's a risk to leave that behind at 20. Personally I think him saying he wants to go and win trophies at 20 is ludicrous, if he's good enough teams will pick him up when he should be a better player if Liverpool aren't competing.

Anyway, I think it's becoming a little more clear that it's a London move he's after.

I think he's lost the PR battle on this (not surprising really), but the money thing appears to be coming more from Liverpool and the media than him. He's a good player that certainly has the talent to play for at least one of the teams currently above Liverpool in the league.

As for the links to Arsenal. I'm torn because he's a very promising player, but he's yet another wide player that likes to cut in to play the no.10 role. I feel we have too much of that already and have cried out for width, particularly in our last few games.

Going into next season with Sanchez, Ozil and Stirling would look great on paper, but I would worry it will end up with us being narrowest side in the UK again.

City fans seem to have such a warped view on how young players become good professionals. The amount of City fans who say their academy will breed great new players is laughable. They are very unlikely to be given a chance because you have to have balls, patience and strengh to let young players play develop. Something that doesn't look like happening at City or Chelsea and is being reduced at clubs like Arsenal and United due to the pressures of needing to win, win, win for financial needs. This is the main reason why Chelsea and City gave ruined the game.

Fair play to Rodgers for giving young players a chance, Van Gaal is doing the same at United (although most United fans would like more youth player opportunities)

Sterling is a disgrace. He owes everything to Rodgers. Put him in the first team aged 16, rests him to prevent burnout, shields him from criticism and played him centrally and built a team round him and this is how he gets repaid. Hope the little c*** goes to Man City for 45 million and does fuck all.

I don't think Sterling leaving will have a serious negative impact in terms of Liverpool's team as it stands, it's more the symbolism and potential trigger effect, how long before Coutinho ups and leaves? Let's face it though, Liverpool look out of the running at the moment, I think a lot of the bile aimed at Sterling is misplaced, as well as the praise.

For a long time Liverpool could attract players on their name alone, I think that time has gone now as the Champions League bubble grows.
