Ahh, Twickenham. Home of Rugby Union, the greatest game on earth bar none. Thanks for posting, Claret. Good piccy.

I believe this shop is on Whitton Road between Twickenham Station and the stadium... on the left side of the road as you go towards HQ. If I recall it accurately, it's next door to a cafe called the Scrummery, which is a rugby themed cafe run by a lovely lady named Karen who does a damned good breakfast and is occasionally frequented by players from the Harlequins rugby club whose stadium is nearby.

I'm pretty sure I recognise this couple from the shop, having popped in there for various bits n bobs when on my way to and from matches in the past. They really are nice people and seeing them offering a little non-business related hospitality at Christmas doesn't surprise me at all.

Rugby...... I love it. Bring on the Six Nations...!!

It is, Jim. At least historically. But the Headquarters of the Rugby Football Union is in Twickenham and that pretty much makes it the home of the game in England.

Are the muddy fields between two small villages somewhere in Lincolnshire or Notts or Derbyshire (or any shire you care to mention) the home of football...?

When Oxford United take 25'000 fans to Australia, New Zealand or South Africa for a two month tour at a cost of many thousands of pounds you'll have a point, until then you're only posting a straw man argument.

Oxford United. One of the league's junior clubs - didn't even join the league until 1963, and have only spent a total of three seasons in the top flight - A minor, lower league club............ and you attempt to conflate their fan base with a global sport which is third in popularity only to the Olympic Games and Football (in that order). Sorry, but it just doesn't hold water.

Incidentally, I notice that their recent home defeat to Bury (the bottom club in League One) attracted less than six and a half thousand fans. Where are your 35'000 now? Fairweather fans who jumped on a Wembley bandwagon, perhaps..?

I've got more I can throw at you, but I'm holding it back in case you want to keep this going. I've got plenty of ammo. Best let it drop here, eh.?

Nothing of the sort but I object strenuously to offensive comments such as a "Nothing sport" which was clearly intended to be insulting and dismissive. What was the point of that..?
