I don't think their squad would look that much out of place battling against relegation in the PL in general, but this season has had some outrageously awful teams.

In changing very little I hope you mean changed back, because we've played a high line all season which evidently changes things a lot for this group of players. Why Ranieri persevered with it until his sacking I'll never know. That one thing alone completely nullifies the strengths of the team.
Contrary to the agenda that has the players 'downing tools' and not playing for the manager, I think the opposite thing has occured. The problem was they were doing exactly as they were told despite the obvious fact it didn't work. We now sit deep, meaning Huth and Morgan arent exposed for their snail pace and with everyone dropping a little deeper it gives Vardy more space to work with at the other end. Its pretty basic but it makes a massive difference. Who do you want to have to cover the ground in a running game, Vardy or Huth and Morgan?
If its Vardy you defend better and score more goals, make it the other two and you concede loads and find it difficult to score.

Yes, this is my perception. I hate the old adage about "players downing tools." It's as stupid and reductive as the idea that managers are wholly responsible for a club's problems. Ranieri's a pretty erratic manager so, as much as the players deserve some stick for underperforming, I don't know why people find it so very difficult to believe that his methods were perhaps rather confused and that he, personally, bore quite a lot of responsibility for their predicament. Leicester are a decent Prem side in my book. They shouldn't have at any point found themselves battling relegation but would almost certainly have gone down under Ranners. Not much place for sentiment at the top level these days, I'm afraid (unusually Sunderland must be the only club not in imminent danger not to wield the axe).

Righto. So, what would they need to do for you to accept you were wrong? For example, despite their shite campaign up until 5-6 weeks ago, what if they were to continue their recovery (yesterday's result aside) and finish top half by the end of this season? They're only 1 point behind 10th at the moment, so I wouldn't rule it out. Would you accept that means their squad is good enough to expect a middtable or even a top half finish rather than such a claim be "rubbish"? Or would you conveniently write that off as overachieving?

Leicester are one of the worst footballing sides I've watched recently, without Mahrez they would have no-one to create a thing i'd say they would be relegation fodder for next season if not this.
