Not sure I introduced myself the first time, Exeter fan, first game 1979, but exiled in Sydney since 2017. Used to go home and away for many years, but rely on forums and ifollow now. Miss it all massively. Not keen on Argyle but that has mellowed over the years, also not keen on Tottenham and Cardiff for personal reasons. Soft spot for Vale, Notts and Bristol Rovers

Forgot to wish you it yesterday, but a belated Happy Birthday mucker! :2thumb:

Hopefully you didn't get too shitfaced and set a firework off out your arse or something.

Ps would never have guessed you were born in 1979.......;)

No, think it was Devon Lad.
Definitely not Devon Lad, who still posts here. This was several years ago.

Seem to have gotten mixed up with Grecian O' Grecian too.

It was 'Anonymous' (we had a thread for the switchover from TFF where everyone said who they used to be)

Hello, I am E10 Rifle and I support a plucky ex-non-league team who are just happy to be here. I don’t dislike any team, but am confused as to why everyone hates my tinpot, bankrolled club which is playing artificially above its level at the expense of a proper club like Halifax 2008.

I usually go to one or two games a season when Man U aren’t playing, but they haven’t won anything for ages, so now I say I support the team that won the National League.

I can’t wait to visit the many footballing pantheons of League Two such as Valley Parade, Home Park and The Globe Arena. I hope one day to achieve my ultimate footballing dream of seeing my little club relegate the mighty Oxford United back where they belong.

I also like cricket, ballet and malacostracology.

Went to my first Rovers games in the early eighties not long after our FA Vase TRIUMPH (though missed that) and we'd just moved down to Stroud after my dad lost his job again. Wasn't really a dedicated supporter back then though, just something to do with mates, we were more punk and politics, then worked abroad for nearly twenty years (missing most of the Stroud FC debacle) so only swung by occasionally when on home visits. Was back in the UK for the last few of our conference years after DV took over and started going more regularly and to aways. Now abroad again.

The wrong end of Boulevard Ave lol, spent most of my early years on the ‘Bully’ and west marsh tip (now a housing estate).
Near me then, brought up on Elsenham now living on Gilbey, Elsenham used to be quite nice when I was a kid but it’s a complete shit hole now, Gilbey is just meh.

Hello, my name's G. Lorry Hunter and I'm 79 years old. Born and bred in the lovely cathedral city of Lincoln but Man U have always been my team and not once did I set foot into the Sincil for all of 78 years!

There I was thinking that United will be my one and only club, only for this Crowley fella to walk into the city and transform the local side from a then mediocre struggling lower mid-table non league side into what is now a great League 1 side, with big plans to go up to the Championship next year and then who knows?!?! If Watford and Burnley can do it then so can we I say.

Whats more, Man U have been shite for well over a decade now, and the somewhat difficult decision to support another side was made a whole lot easier I have to say!

tl;dr - I am a massive Lincoln City fan.

Ta ta for now.

Can I join in?

Hey, my name is PuB, my original team was Gillingham since 1994, but it got stolen by a dickhead of a chairman, a convicted fraudster of a manager and some bloke currently being investigated for defrauding the US government by the FBI.

But I always knew my natural home was in Salford, that’s where my heart has always been. Since I first saw those yellow boys fighting it out with plucky non-league notts county in the fa Cup, I fell immediately in love.

I can’t wait to finally visit and see them in the flesh!!

Hi, I'm Pablosammy and my browser keeps bringing me back to the league two section even though Tranmere fluked promotion last season.

I dislike MK Dons, Bolton, Bury, Salford and those seat smashing hooligans who fart a lot.

Hi Guys,

Long-suffering Crewe Alexandra supporter lordofthepies here. I held a season ticket for a about 10 years but I live in South Manchester now and tend to go to more away games than home games. I watch my local team West Didsbury & Chorlton more than I go to Alex games cos it's easier and cheaper.

Likes: Films, long walks and cosy nights by the fire
Dislikes: Smelly feet, lateness and traffic.

Correct.
I wasn't much of a WUM on TFF. No more so than I am here, although I'm not above some mild wummery towards FGR fans.

Swindon supporter here , followed the Robin's since the late sixties , first game I attended was a FA cup game against Scunthorpe', beat them 4 1, they had a young Keegan playing for them.
Match was on Match of the day, and I've a staring role on it ........well I'm in a shot !
Don Roger's is taking a corner and there a bunch of kids close to the fence on the Stratton bank, I'm next to the lad with school cap on....
I've worked for the club , having been the press box steward during the Macari and Ozzie Ardilesi years, some of the best football Swindon has played happened during the mid 80s to the mid 90s, our golden age, lol
I live about 16 miles from the county ground, dont go as much these days, age is catching up , but much prefer going to away games , more atmosphere, more laughs I suppose I do half a dozen home games and about the same away depending on how far my wallet is .
One last thing i want my ashes spread on the pitch!

I was at that cup match and it was 3-1 Swindon as I remember. Keegan played right wing, but didn't get much into the game as it was played on a quagmire of a field. Horrendous. We were most disappointed with the draw out of the hat. To get Swindon A in the 5th Round was a let down for a struggling 4th division side who had previously beaten top flight side Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Memorable for me was it is the only time I've been on a football special train. I'd come over from university and joined the train in Scunny. Swindon bound, we made a short stop in Birmingham, where we chatted with a bunch of Villa supporters on the platform. Police escorted walk from the station to the ground and back. Non-stop to Scunny as I remember, overnight and then back to university.

We play each other in the opening match next week. Will be interesting to see how we cope. I'm hopeful, but not particularly optimistic.

We were famous for that pitch, just had to spit to turn it into a quagmire! The only time it was decent was the first few games st the start of the season.
Ahhhh the football specials, oldest carriages, no heating , stopping in the middle of nowhere, and 9 times out of 10, late arriving for the game!
There is extended high lights of the game on YouTube.
Glanford park is a bit of a bogey ground for us, I'm hoping to get a draw but will not be to dissapointed if we lose.

My name is Chris and I support FGR.

I don't have a sense of humour and think all WUMS should be banned for life. I will become mod of this forum soon and ban Pablosammy, rerenmart and that Exeter fan who's name I can't remember. And Vanni.

I have been exiled from my position in the North stand at Field Mill since 2004 when the plod gave that stand to the away fans.

Lived in Mansfield since getting married 40 years ago and am only about a mile and half from ground.

My first game at the Mill was in 1960, but didn’t start attending regularly until 1965, when me and my mates started to attend without adult supervision.

Only missed about a dozen home games since then with vast majority of these due to attending family weddings.

Since taking early retirement not missed an away league game in last nine years.

Crawley fan since 2003, although I saw my first game in 1968 (Brighton v Orient)
I live in York and get to most of our more northern away games
Like Casey, I'm not a huge fan of some AFCW fans but don't particularly dislike any teams.

Hi, I'm Shoddy. I support Carver

Where have all the Carlisle fans gone though? HG was even a bit scarce earlier on. Big Dave seems to have claimed the title of third most famous Carlisle fan despite following Curzon Ashton these days. We seem to be shedding fans on here faster than we're shedding fans in the ground.

cufc17 Carver Alan Partridge where are you?

Dislike L***s United

I've just lost a lot of interest in our club to be honest thanks to them heading nowhere and it has been pre season.

Plus I've been finding better things to do with my time than waste my money on watching that shite. There's nothing to get excited about anymore, the last 2 seasons have been pretty turd overall and the future for the club looks bleak.

They need some money to turn it around and it's not coming from anywhere.

Signing a striker on loan from Scunthorpe who was at Yeovil last season just says it all.

Oh and hi I'm Carver everyone.

Hi I'm Chris,

Cheltenham fan from a far now due to relocation, I get to as many games as work and kids allow. First game watched live was back in 1992 as an 8 year old lad with my Great Aunt (who continued to go with me until becoming blind (did so for a while after with me commentating)), former youth team player. Went on to play semi pro, now retired (I'm younger and no where near as fit (or good) as Luke Varney).

I am not a big fan of Gloucester City but they have been no-where near us in trms of leagues for may years so I'm not that bothered now, Also dislike Burnely (even though our manager was at burnley for years) due to a slight affinity to Blackburn as their kit was the first one i owned (a gift from an uncle)

Not a lot else to say really

In reality I was born in Swindon and like my father and his father before supported the town. This wasn't easy as I went to school in Oxford for a couple of years (how i'm so clever, innit).

Moved up to Scotland, where I went to some Swindon away games in the North of England but mainly watched Heart of Midlothian most weekends as I moved from East Lothian into Edinburgh. Here I experienced a number of superb Edinburgh derby matches as well as a Cup win against Gretna (the semi final 4-0 win over Hibs was infinitely more enjoyable)

Then moved to Luxembourg where we adopted Avenir Beggen as our team of choice. Beggen have a rich history in Europe including a heavy defeat at Ipswich Town back in the early 2000s. When I started watching them they were in the top division, they are now in division 3! (I feel like a bit of a bad luck charm a bit)

Finally moved 'home' into the third Capital City I have lived in, to Laaaaandan. Usually try and go to 1 or 2 games a month, mainly just to catch up with my old man.

Don't hate any team or supporters and will happily chat football to anyone over a pint or 2.
