You set of shithouses, I'm jealous as fuck. Girlfriend decided that she was buying me this as an Xmas present so guess who's gotta wait till December 25th to get his filthy hands onto this?

On the plus side though I'm still playing through GoW and Call Of Cthulhu so should see me occupied till Santa comes.

:bg::bg::bg: I have a Christmas tradition of buying a game near to Christmas day and refrain form playing it until the day. This year it was RDR2, but after watching YT vids of it my resolve crashed and burned. Luckily Hitman 2 will save the day.

I'm hearing that they won't be resetting gamers' characters after Beta and will be rewarding some players with $250RDR and some gold bars for playing Beta and feeding back. Not bad R*, just sort the fucking griefers out and it's happy days.

I don't mind people trying to kill me for no reason, I mean it's the wild west to be fair. It does piss me off when they persist in trying to kill me when I attempt to walk away after respawning making it perfectly clear that I don't want to play with them and want to be left alone to pick herbs and that.

Not played online for a few months. What I really want to see there is a hideout type deal where you can chill out safe from the griefers if you want and store all your stuff. Something similar to GTA online where only you and anyone you authorise can enter. I know the RDR map isn't ideal for that but there are still plenty of buildings and caves that can be utilised in such a way.

Currently about halfway through chapter 2 on my second playthrough and being much more thorough with regards to side missions, random encounters and exploration. I've come across a hell of a lot of content I missed out first time around already just by taking my time and soaking it all in, I can't say it enough, the scope of this game is immense and I never get bored. Right now I'm in the process of completing all the camp upgrades and I'm quite enjoying it so will probably finish all that before proceeding with the main story.

I spent over an hour stalking a moose last night and in the process got bitten by a rattlesnake, chased by a grizzly bear and almost died in a snowstorm but I got the bastard and now his antlers are hanging over the main campsite fire. I also came across the wild white Arabian near Lake Isabella but was unable to calm him and lost his tracks in the snowstorm. Will probably mosey on back up and see if I can get him another time.

I was pretty thorough on my first playthrough, but am on my second now and like you finding stuff I missed last time. First time I found the white Arabian, I got on it but whilst trying to break it got attacked by some wolves and it threw me off and bolted . It takes some breaking too compared to the standard horses. I kept it as my main horse all the way through my first play and only bought the black one from St Denis as back up in case my white one karked it.

I played online for the first time in ages last night and bought the Evans repeater which is quite handy. Agree with what you said about a safe place too.

The upgrades are enjoyable too, I really enjoyed doing the hunting for all the satchels

The longevity of this game is really good. Sometimes I just ride about looking for random shit to do and taking in the scenery

Played my first online session in a while last night.

The in game economy seems to have improved slightly but there are still issues that definitely need addressing. For example I bought a bolt action rifle (I wanted the Springfield but I'm not at the required level to unlock it yet which is fair enough) and modified it to my preferred specifications for about $350 in total and I'm very happy with it, but then I added a cool looking pattern to my hunting knife for no other reason than it looks badass as it adds nothing to the quality of the weapon and this cost me $124. Now this is nuts and it's my fault for not looking properly but the first pattern I looked at was like $30 so I clicked on my preferred engraving without looking thinking it would be the same or a similar price so a bit annoyed with myself on that front.

Also, it's been a few months since I last played online but I'm pretty sure I had a better quality horse. It's spawned me a Tennessee Walker and I'm almost certain I was riding a Standardbred before. Having checked though it seems I can't access the Standardbred until I'm level 21 and I'm currently at 20 so I might just be mistaken. So when I level up my first port of call is going to be a new horse with either a Standardbred or an Appaloosa on the menu. While we're on the subject does anyone else have an issue with horse bonding? I can bond up to max in a session but when I start a new one I'm back to level one. This was an issue when I last played and it seems to me it's something that needs addressing urgently as it's very frustrating to have a horse with shite stamina on such a huge map.

Anyone on PS4 who wants to join a Posse then let me know as The Weird Bunch currently has 3 available spots. We spent the best part of last nights session shooting up Rhodes and massacring the Confederate population which was a lot of fun especially with the explosive shotgun shells.

I’ve not even attempted online yet but I’m happy to give it a blast and join the posse.

Anybody found a American paint in the wild on single player yet? It’s not spawning where it’s suppose to be in Ambrino- annoying.

Yeah cool just send me your PSN ID and I'll add you when I'm next on.

I haven't taken any horses from the wild and the only one I attempted to got away. Kind of silly really as I could get a much better horse for free in the main story if I was to spend a while looking. That said I did get my current horse which is a decent one in a random encounter with a fella that got kicked and killed by it so I just took it and saddled it up.

I think I'm having that problem with the bonding too. Until the other night I'd not played online for ages but when I returned my horse was dogshit at galloping and kept being mardy all the time. I'm sure it was faster and more chipper last time I played and I'm sure it was level 4 before and is now level 1.

I've almost finished all the camp crafting items. Just need a perfect cougar pelt and two perfect ox pelts for Arthur's wagon and a perfect panther pelt and a perfect badger pelt to complete all the satchels.

I came upon a perfect badger by accident while out riding and jumped the gun a bit and shot it with my springfield rifle which rendered its pelt worthless. I'm yet to go out actively hunting one and apparently they're a bastard to find so that could come back to haunt me.

Ox's are proving a real nightmare too. From what I can gather they can only be found on farms and ranches so I've been frequenting the Downes Ranch but everytime I find an Ox it isn't in perfect condition so I have to silence to farmer for nothing. He's probably getting fed up of me now. I might try Emerald Ranch or one of the other bigger farms at night but I reckon I'll still end up in a shootout with a bounty on my head if I do so I'm not really keen.

Currently spending a productive morning at work reading up on how to get me a perfect panther pelt.

My PSN is ConkConkConk and Panthers are the worst predators, sneaky bastards.

I’m just glad grizzlies ain’t relentless like they are in the old game up at Tall Trees, you had to go through that area full gallop or you were fucked!

Badgers are fuckers to find, especially 3* ones. I've found a few in the expanse of land around the oil derrick in The Heartlands at night.

Badgers are fuckers to find, especially 3* ones. I've found a few in the expanse of land around the oil derrick in The Heartlands at night.

Bagged one in the woodland west of Rhodes after camping out for three days. Since getting it I've come across loads on my travels.

The panther is proving a real twat though. I've been camping in the woods south of Braithwaite Manor and been attacked twice but both times the pelt was poor quality. I set up some predator bait and half a dozen bastard wild boars came out and ruined my trap. I then decided to head to the swamps north of Saint-Denis as apparently that is the only other place you can catch a panther. I was wading through the sludge when I came upon a hanging corpse so naturally stopped to investigate when all of a sudden three lunatics came out of the swamp from all angles and chopped me up with melee weapons stealing $80+ in the process, I was fucking fuming and I'm sacking the panther hunt off for a bit now.

Online I've purchased the lowest class Arabian for $250. It's not as good as the black or white one but it's a hell of lot better than my old horse and considerably better than the Appaloosa and Standardbred for just under double the price.

Was moseying through Lemoyne alone last night and came across a randomer. She seemed harmless and after sizing each other up I decided to trot on and leave it but then her partner in crime came bounding out the woods and got on the back of her horse while she blasted me in the back with her revolver. Once I respawned I rode the c*** down with my pump action shotgun and they didn't know what hit them, then I bolted for cover and made my horse flee before crouching behind a fallen tree trunk. Sure enough they came looking for more and tried outflanking me but they didn't count on my modified bolt action rifle with express rounds and I got a couple of perfect headshots in. When they respawned again they wisely left the session. Wankers.

I found the panther in the location you found them. I dropped some predator bait and waited. After a few minutes I came to the conclusion that no fucker was interested in it then suddenly a fox approached the bait. I didn't know whether or not if an animal eats the bait it eats all of it and as I didn't have anymore with me I shot the fox. I was just about to give it up as a bad job when suddenly a panther came out and started munching on the fox's corpse. Bonus! It didn't appear from nowhere ripping my throat out.

Decided to give the woods south of Braithwaite Manor another go before moving onto my cougar hunt. I simply applied some cover scent lotion and started creeping through the brush. It wasn't long before I spotted one but before I had time to study it it spotted me and charged so I took it out with my Springfield and went to skin it finding out much to my delight it was a perfect pelt.

So I've now got all the satchels bar the legend of the east for which I need a perfect cougar pelt. I also need two perfect cougar pelts for Arthur's wagon. My plan is to head to the woods north of Owanjila and camp out until I've got what I came for. I imagine it's going to be quite frustrating at times with them being almost identical animals to the panther but I'm determined to complete all the upgrades before carrying on with the story and I'm so close now.

All camp upgrades and satchels now complete. No reward or trophy for completing all camp upgrades which was a slight disappointment, still enjoyed completing them though and the camp looks great. The satchels are a different story, the legend of the east satchel is amazing and if you haven't crafted all the satchels yet then I strongly recommend you do because it's practically bottomless.

The cougar hunt was a real bastard, not helped by needing three perfect pelts, but I found a great spawn point north of Owanjila near the trapper. Had to camp over a dozen or so game days to get three of the fuckers though and grizzly bears also spawn there so they proved troublesome but I got them all in the end. I also bagged the legendary Buck whilst out there and the trinket you can get crafted at the fence upgrades pelt quality on your kills so that would have come in handy before the cougar hunt as I damaged quite a few of the sneaky little bastards before I managed to get three perfect ones.

I went on to compete the three treasure maps I'd started. The Jack Hall Gang, Poisonous Trail and High Stakes which bagged me $4500 worth of gold bars plus a couple of pieces of jewellery and cash.

I reckon I'll complete all the stranger missions I've started now before carrying on with the story. I think I'll also get down to hunting all the legendary animals I've come across as that's something I didn't bother with in my first playthrough.

Rode through Van Horn trading post earlier and accidentally trampled a drunk in the street. Whole town possed up and came after me.

Not played much more story mode since my last post.

Online has now come out of beta. I’ve always liked it and haven’t had many gripes but they’ve taken all the general feedback on board it seems. They’ve introduced penalties for persistent griefers and an early stage passive mode that looks to be working, just had a sesh with no grief at all which is a first. They’ve also introduced poker which is great, looking forward to having a go at that. The in game economy has also been tweaked a bit and although still not ideal it is clearly better now.

I’ve been doing the online daily challenges which are great for XP and gold if you can’t be arsed playing races, showdown series, online story etc..

It’s going to be nice to be able to have chilled sessions just hunting and fishing and that without having to worry about some wanker bushwhacking you. The amount of times I’ve been on my way to the butcher with a perfect bear, elk or bison hide and been ambushed thus losing my goods is unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate these people, if that’s how they enjoy playing the game then that’s cool (I’ve been guilty myself more than once) but it’s nice to know that you now don’t have to worry about it if you don’t want to. I spent the best part of an hour hunting an egret for one of the daily challenges the other day and when I finally got one I was killed by another player before I got the chance to skin it and collect my reward, was fucking fuming.
