Well we know Goddard has gone from Woking. Signed for Swindon I think I read on twitter earlier.

We haven't announced a retained list either, all we know is we've offered several players new deals. Ryan Astles signed his new contract yesterday and Rooney and surprisingly Higgins have said they have been offered new deals as well. Rooney said in the press yesterday he has no intention of leaving so should sign shortly.

Worsnop, Shaw, Mahon & Hughes are contracted for next season anyway.

It sounds as though we've offered contracts to them all including Hobson, Higgins and Hunt. The buzz word is continuity.

We've released 7 players today.

Lenny Pidgeley
Dale Eve
David Pipe
James Jennings
Clovis Kamdjo
Delano Sam-Yorke
Brett Williams

Pipe, Jennings, Kamdjo and Williams should all easily be able to find clubs at this level imo.

As long as we don't sign Jennings - I don't think Cox knows how much he's disliked up here. The rest have never been that impressive against us, but Pipe was always steady as a right-back.

What happened with Brett Williams? Just never really got going? Looked a good signing at the time considering the amount of goals he scored in an average Aldershot side.

Also is Pidgeley the goalkeeper who played 1 game for Chelsea in the last game of the season quite a few years ago?

I think Jennings would have been likely had we not already signed up Newton.

Williams has ability but doesn't show it enough, not the best attitude although tbf hasn't been played through the middle that much.

And yes Pidgeley is the ex Chelsea one.

Never got selected regularly enough and kept being played non centrally, then did get a quick flurry of a couple of goals including a good strike at Dover. Hoiked at half time in the final. He did show some good ball skills, on occasions.

Thats right re Pidgeley, but that was an odd one as we already had Eve and Maxted. Maxted TBF has only just come back from injury, Eve was away on international duty for Bermuda, so basically Pidgeley was signed for 1 game and to lump the ball away when stand in coach at Dover just to annoy leswhites.

That's a bad decision from the manager to play him anywhere but centrally! He's always struck me as a striker who is deadly in the box (as proved by his gut punching last gasp equaliser at our place). I'd take him but I'd also say that with caution as we don't need players with terrible attitudes.

Gosh he must have really been awful in the final then if he's released the next day! Strange to give someone a last chance saloon in such an important game though?

That's the first I've heard his name since that Chelsea game. I'm guessing he's been at other clubs too but he's really fallen far!

I'd also be happy with Williams and Ashley Chambers.

Pipe is a horrible thug and I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.

I think he was in goal for Newport against us in the play off Final?

He was?? God I completely blanked that then. Might be because he was hardly in the game and when he was involved Ormerod did his job for him..

Pidgeley did get his county cup medal with us, I'm sure he'll treasure it. Bishop's Cleeve made him look a bit average as I recall.

If Brett came back i'd be delighted. Williams comes alive in the penalty area. Personally I couldnt care less if he doesn't run around like a headless chicken as long as he scores goals.

Williams will do well wherever he goes. There's a general rule now that if you want to be a good striker, just become an ex-FGR striker.

Brett was great for us because we played him in his correct position. It's no surprise that his couple of dry spells for us came when we had to use him as a wide man. Would have in back in a heartbeat.

I have no idea how Pidgely has stayed in professional football for so long. Terrible every time I've seen him play and probably put in the one of the worst goalkeeping performances from an away keeper at SB a few years back when at Bradford (I think).

Ours released list out today apparently. Typical that it's being overshadowed by the LVG situation.

Not really the clear-out that was expected, although we knew the Cowleys weren't really ones for wholesale changes, aiming to improve what it already in the squad.

Interesting that 3 of the 5 who have been offered new contracts are from the youth system. They're the ones usually given the boot after a year or so.

We knew about Stanley and Muldoon triggering another year and whoever put a clause into Chris Bush contract needs shooting. Several times.

I'd imagine Bush will be shipped out on loan a month or two into the season.

I'm pretty happy with the rest of it though, no real surprises in there. I was worried Hearn might have been kept on after his tweet the other day, but thankfully that's not to be the case.

I thought Hearn had a 2 year deal at the start of last season?
Guess not!
