Not sure 1 bad night says a problem. Obviously it's not a great impression but wouldn't say he has an alcohol problem.
1 bad night shouldn't happen at a full time club though. You shouldn't even think about going out a 1/4 of the way through the season to drink loads and cause trouble. That is a problem for me. Like Master D said though, he's not the only one.

I really liked Adam Smith, he looked like a world beater everytime he came on as a sub - quick feet, pace, direct, good shot. Wonder what happened? Maybe it was location issues, but I never heard anything about it, he was just let go.

Good player but he didn't feature at all after he totally left his man to score a free header from a corner/ free kick on 80 minutes in the Cheltenham home game. The game was level at that point and the boys had worked their socks off to keep it that way intil he went missing! Getting a second yellow v Dover I think in the last few minutes was another bit of stupidity that springs to mind.

He's not played much for us since having his hand trodden on at Alty ( nasty infection ensued) but as you say lots of positives in his game. Hopefully he will stay and we'll see the best of him next season. He always gets a decent cross into the box no matter how unlikely the situation

no - we released him although he's done well this season - I think he's just not 6'6" like Cox likes.
he could do a job at Southport, Guiseley, Chester or Wrexham

Certainly a step up from Tom Craddock whom had a terrible season. He's not been mentioned at all by the club, i sincerely hope he's not contracted for next season. I could see him pairing well with Adam Boyes feeding him.

I'm sure they said it was the commute. I'm not sure why we ever sign player who live East of the Pennines, it always ends the same way (see Speight and Waterfall). Although tbh it's not a drive I'd want to make regularly either.

Waterfall didn't want to leave though did he? He was contracted to us and Lincoln wanted to buy him and we thought we could get better so we let him go, correct me if I'm wrong?

According to the Daily Post:

Waterfall insisted it was for family reasons and not footballing ones for making the move to join the Dragons's rivals, stating the two and three-quarter hour drive in to Wrexham every day from his home in Sheffield was beginning to take its toll.

Most fans will point at Manny Smith, but I completely understand it. He's looked very dopey at most home games I've seen this season and is far from the player he was the season before! Pushed far too easily off the ball too.

Thought he was class last season, one of the best cb's in this league. Surprised to hear about the drop off this year.

I wouldn't mind us taking a look tbh, especially if we can't hang on to Clough.

I must have missed that then! I always assumed we just let him leave because someone wanted to buy him and we would have been silly to not take it.

I have no idea what happened to him this season. Completely different player. He wasn't a rock, he missed tackles, lost aerial battles consistently, didn't bust a gut to get back into position and although he's not blessed with great passing ability anyway he looked very tentative on the ball a lot of the time and dopey like I said. Might have been what happened to him at Notts County, one good season, then drops off.

Surprised you have released Oli Norburn. Hope we go in for him. Faint hope though it may be.

Blimey, Cox should really start signing some players. There's only just under THREE MONTHS until the season starts.

Not sure what your point is, because I addressed that in the second half of the sentence. Though I guess you didn't get that far because mum shouted you downstairs for tea.

He'd be better in the league, and with a solid and vocal partner in defence. He looked great last year in a team set up to defend first and foremost. In a more open system this year he was exposed a few times. He also had to fill in at RB a few times early on, a position that isn't natural for him. He's a classy player though. Really hope he gets a move back to the league.

Thank you, I was indeed DSL! I think my old username was SteveWAFC or something (I'm very creative with usernames..). But yeah I used to participate in the predictions page and write match reports whenever I could.
Thought I recognized the name. What took you so long to make the move over here? Haha.

How likely is it you will offer Tomlinson a deal?

Apparently his girlfriend is from Barrow, making the whole thing that bit more likely. Wasn't impressed at first, but he adapted to the supporting role and also got a few goals too. Probably a useful one to have, assuming we need four strikers in the squad.

I forgot the name of the forum and switched laptops where the old link was favourited haha! I also tried to stay off social sites for last season because I didn't want to start doubting Gary Mills like everyone quickly turned on Wilkin even though everyone turned out to be right *awkward face*

Not finished necessarily, but he'll probably not want to leave the area. Maybe one last role of the dice with a well-off Conf North side.

Me too, may be due to wayward back passes to keepers?
Seriously though he is quality but couldn't maintain a high work rate which is strange at 23/24 years of age.
