Not sure if this was posted when released about a week ago.

Perch had a dodgey first half of season but was solid at the business end and considering we desperately need a new CB game time will probably be hard to come by so better off leaving. Quinn is worth keeping around despite his age, can definitely still play an important part.

Wallace could be a good signing for someone, the type to sit in midfield in a defensive role willing to head a brick if necessary. I expect Clough to try and shift JJ O’Toole now. Both Wallace and Law basically been told we will leave it open but try and find more regular game time.

Club definitely want to sign Will Swan, he barely played and when he did it was from the bench and still scored 10. Comfortably good enough to score 20 if played enough, maybe Notts County will be interested aswell.

A decent looking list of retained players to use as a starting point, though I'd imagine a few of them will go on to be sold. Mo Eisa and Warren O'Hora the top picks of those.

Still nothing from our club...almost two weeks after the season ended...we normally issue the retained list within 48 hours of the last ball being kicked.

That looks pretty good for League 2.

Under contract:
GK - Tiernan Brooks
CB - Aden Baldwin
CB - Lucien Mahovo
CB - Geraldo Bajrami
CB - Richard Brindley
LWB - Adam Chicksen
RWB - Tobi Adebayo-Rowling
CM - John Bostock
CM - Matt Palmer
AM - Sam Austin
AM - Luther Munakandafa
ST - Junior Morias
ST - Cedwyn Scott
ST - Macaulay Langstaff

Offered new contract:
GK - Sam Slocombe
CB - Kyle Cameron
CB - Connell Rawlinson
RWB - Aaron Nemane
CM - Jim O'Brien
AM - Ruben Rodrigues

Loan player offered permanent contract:
AM - Jodi Jones

Released:
CM - Frank Vincent
CM - Ed Francis
ST - Kairo Mitchell

Only real surprise is Slocombe who I thought we might let go, but suspect his offer probably isn't to continue as guaranteed first choice goalkeeper. Looks like our plan is to pretty much keep the squad together but with room for five or six quality signings, which makes sense.

Delighted we've offered a deal to Jones, anyone who was at this level when Coventry were here knows how good he is when he's fit. Having got through five months here on loan playing high intensity stuff without an injury, hopefully he's over what's ruined his career so far.

Just announced ours.

Released:
Stuart O'Keefe
Olly Lee
Lewis Page
Ben Reeves
Jordan Green
Bailey Akehurst
Scott Kashket

Can probably count on one hand the amount of appearances these 7 had in the first team since Christmas. Feel a bit for Kashket, he was one of the few in the first half of the season who looked capable at time.

End of loan:
Hakeeb Adelakun
Aiden O'Brien
Connor Masterson - signed for next season
Tristan Abrahams

Connor has obviously already signed up, I would be surprised if O'Brien didn't join him. Adelakun was a massive disappointment, and Abrahams was a last minute signing to add numbers to a thin squad.

Contracts offered to:
David Tutonda
Alex MacDonald

Bit worried if Disco Dave is likely to be our first choice left back next season, but Alex Mac is welcome to stay as long as he likes.

Contracted:
Glenn Morris - GK
Jake Turner - GK
Robbie McKenzie - RB, CB, LB, DM
Will Wright - RB, CB
Cheye Alexander - RB, LB
Ike Orji - RB (youth)
Max Ehmer - CB
Shaun Williams - CDM
Dom Jefferies - CM
Ethan Coleman - CDM, CM
Tim Dieng - CM
Josh Chambers - CM (youth)
George Lapslie - AM
Jayden Clarke - RW (youth)
Tom Nichols - CAM, ST
Lewis Walker - ST (probably to be loaned out)
Oli Hawkins - ST, CB
Joe Gbode - ST (youth)

Few gaps in the squad but it's a solid base. Doubt you'd get a better pair of keepers than the two we have, we need a central defender and a left back, couple of wingers and a forward and the first 11 is set.

We're still waiting for our full list but we've just announced Charlie Austin has signed a 1 year contract extension. If Flynn can get him scoring he could be a huge asset next season.

Someone posted on our forum that, apart from clubs involved in the play-offs, the deadline for publishing the released list is 20th May...ie: tomorrow...not sure how many clubs still have to produce theirs, other than ourselves of course.

Just get McKirdy back to play upfront with him!

To be fair we only have three out of contract (plus Jordan Mutch & Anthony Grant both out of contract signings on short term deals). Two of whom are saleable with options for a year.

There is a doubt over Chukwuemeka. Signed on loan with an "obligation" to buy but nobody has said if the obligation kicks in after so many appearances or not.

That’s quite a big clear out by the Saddlers. Would have thought Wrecsam could do better than Monthe.

Released ours.

We've released Francillette which is odd/mad. Young, tall & gangly centre back but he may go back to France.

I was surprised to see we are in negotiations with Oteh. I thought he had another year on his contract.

Lawd knows what's going to happen with Craig & Hessanthaler (never to play for the club again) . I had Hessanthaler and Francomb round the wrong way. I thought Hess had his contract cancelled and Francomb was still contacted. Mea culpa.

Chukwuemeka has gone back to Villa. A real panic loan signing that didn't work out for us or the player. It must have been an obligation to buy after a set number of games.

This lot got us in deep relegation trouble but with a bit of money and some shrewd signings we could make mid table.

no doubt the Cook to Barrow (for the 5th time) rumours will resurface if he is released. Not sure if he'd get in the team ahead of the other rumoured ones (Danny Johnston and Kurt Willoughby) (joke)

Cook will absolutely not be released. It will spark WW3 at Valley Parade if he was.

I don't expect him to stay though. He'll choose the best offer financially and I can't blame him given his age. Will leave with best wishes.

I'm hoping he would stay with us. Been our top scorer three seasons in a row and we should be putting a contract to him that reflects that. As you say, if he does go, then he goes with our best wishes.

Blimey, that is a lot more retained than I had been expecting, although three of them are literally kids...it includes a few who I still don't think will ever play for us again and some who must have had some sort of extension clause in their contract.

It’s a piss poor squad on paper let’s be honest. We’ve basically released 5 or 6 of our best players, and of the 19 under contract, 3 are youth, 4 were deemed surplus to requirements in January and shipped out on loan and the rest (other then Stevens and McCann) were part of a side that’s won 1 game since mid December. Would only realistically want to keep 5 of them but we could end up lumbered with a few.

It also means that from our title winning squad from 21/22 we’ll now have lost/let go McGee, Thomas, Moore-Taylor, Cargill, Sweeney, Wilson, Cadden, Adams, Hendry and Stevenson all on free transfers. 9 regular starters and one very capable back up keeper, all top performers and all gone for nothing. Could also soon add Godwin-Malife to that as I’ve heard he’s unlikely to sign and is wanted by Portsmouth. Not sure if we got something for Matt or March but even if we did we definitely spent more on the likes of Doohan and Bakayoko. Absolutely disastrous transfer policy in the last year or so.

He’s definitely a good player at this level, quick, strong, left footed CB or LB, can play in a 2 or 3 and also gets forward pretty well.

Clearly better then Jamie Robson or Sean Robertson imo, but unluckily for us they are under contract and he isn’t.

It was his attitude that was the issue with us, or at least the fans. But at this level before his injury he was fantastic on the pitch.

Very good mates with someone that was at Luton too, and the constant posting on Instagram about that friendship angered certain sections of the fanbase especially when we weren't doing so well.

‘Bit surprised ours hasn’t been announced yet.

My predictions:

Liam Ridehalgh - LB - leave

Yann Songo’o - CM - leave

Andy Cook - ST - think we’ll offer 1 year deal and he’ll get a longer deal elsewhere

Alex Gilliead - utility - Offer deal

Oscar Threlkeld - RB - leave

Kian Scales - AM - 1 year deal

Abo Eisa - RW - leave

Charlie Wood - ST - leave

Heath Richardson - GK - leave

Colin Doyle - GK - offer deal for FT GK coach

Adam Clayton - CM - offer 1 year deal

With 6 loanees returning to their parent clubs, it’s gonna be a big recruitment drive in the summer.

Dread to think how much money we’ve spunked on players like Eisa and Threlkeld - they’ve barely played in 2 years.

Hope only Cook is made an offer. The rest aren't good enough and have proven so over the course of the season. LB and CM need massive upgrades

Word here Chris is we could be taking Mat Stevens from you, not sure how reliable that word is though.

Wouldn't surprise me tbh. We seem to be happy to let anyone leave, although I'm hoping he stays as when he's fully fit and played in the right system he can score a lot of goals. Was out for a long time with an acl last season and didn't seem to really get going at Walsall but reckon with a full pre season he'll be a lot sharper next season.
