Ridehalgh is a ridiculous one but no different to last summer when we kept on 4/5 times as many who weren’t good enough and shipped half of those off in January. He’ll be deemed as back up but once the new first choice inevitably misses games we have the same not good enough crocked back up as this season.
Gillead was a given considering how Hughes starts him as someone who runs around but offers nothing else. Both these two should be no where near the first 11 next season which begs the question why we bother keeping them on.

What's Eisa been like? I reckon he's nailed on to sign for us, Hurst has signed him twice before I think.

Been here for two years and played under 20 games. Hamstrings made out of cheese strings. Nowhere near good enough for us or yourselves. Feel sorry for the lad but what can ya do. Think he'll be conference bound.

Ridehalgh lasted 8 years at Tranmere. I think its because he is a nice but dim bloke who doesnt cause any bother. If he was an arsehole he wouldn't last a year anywhere.
His stupidity did lead to one of the most memorable games as a Tranmere supporter though so he has that in his favour.

Hopefully you're right regarding the Conference, I've just got a bad feeling Hurst will go for him. He won't get much wiggle room for settling/adapting if he's crap with him being ex-Scunny. Nailed on to be a scapegoat if he signs!

How come you think Hurst will sign him? Is it a location thing?

If he has seen him perform at all this season then he won't touch him. He had one good game and that's it. There was probably a decent player in there until the injuries. As I said in a previous post, I feel sorry for him. Don't think he had many injuries until Derek Adams got hold of him.

Do you think there's no chance you're going in for Vernam? I'd have him back here. Absolute quality when he's on it.

Vernam has been 100% a done deal the last two windows according to pretty much every single ITK Town source going so fuck knows what's happened. People reckon Lincoln have pulled the plug on it both times as they haven't landed their player. Apparently Vernam wants to be at BP. Exactly the same chat is coming round again so I wouldn't be surprised to see him come. The consensus seems to be that his time at Lincoln is done and he lives in the GY area so it does all add up.

I think Hurst signed Eisa for both Shrewsbury and Scunny, but on top of that he loves a good character and especially if he thinks he can heal their injury woes and get a tune out of them when things haven't gone to plan which very much fits into the narrative here. I hope you're right though as it sounds like we need better.

we've released Joel Senior.

I'm honestly very surprised at that, he's been excellent in recent weeks and played a big part in our play-off win. Surely he'll be a good signing for someone in L2, if not even L1

I’m surprised that people are surprised.

He was our 3rd choice right back behind Fin Back and Jack Ellis, in League 2.

He did well in the playoff games but had the other 2 been fit he wouldn’t have even been on the bench.

I expected him to be released, even though I think he is a half decent player.

And our retained list is now out so that’s the whole league done.

Hinchliffe triggered a one year extension and we’ve offered Byrne a deal after he proved a solid fill in when Horsfall was injured. Everybody else out of contract/on loan is leaving.

Unlike some clubs we don’t put our unwanted in contract players publicly on an available for transfer/loan list but there will be at least a handful if not more that will depart before the window shuts.

For me I’m moving out:

Ethan Ross
Ben Barclay
Joe Lewis
Callum Camps
Connor Evans
Ollie Crankshaw
Scott Quigley

Antoni Sarcevic has potentially saved himself with his play-off performances after pretty terrible season but he’s on big wages and if anybody was interested I wouldn’t be adverse to moving him on.
