Looking at the voting I'd say most people want Stevenage to go down, but expect Macclesfield to actually be the one.

I've changed my vote from Orient to Carlisle because I reckon Hellogregory could do with some encouragement.

Oldham seem to be fairly incompetent, with relentless tinkering by a chairman who doesn't altogether know what he's doing.

I hope they don't go. I miss Bury, while Accy are too likeable and Salford too irrelevant for an interesting local rivalry. Could do with Stockport or Halifax back up for a bit of needle...

At the start of the season I was certain we’d finish bottom. But now I don’t think it’s certain,I think our forward players that came in over the summer look capable of keeping us up. It’s a hell of a pressure on them though given the weak pathetic midfield and defence.

It’s still quite likely we’ll go down, but sacking the idiot was a forward step, now if we can get a half decent manager to give this team some proper coaching and direction then we’ll stand a chance.

I think it’s entirely appropriate Mansfield at included in this.

During our last home game - an abysmal 1-0 home win against bottom of the conference Chorley our captain - bishop - had the audacity to have a go at the fans for booing them for the latest round of drivvel they’ve served up claiming that several thousand fans booing them stopped them winning games (when Infact they’re just wank).

So baring I’m mind they can’t play at home because of the fans booing them (lol) they went to Macclesfield - a side who’d been on strike for ages and players that hadn’t trained for 10 days and managed to hold them to a 0-0 draw (really).

Today they went to Swindon and unsurprisingly didn’t score again.

They didn’t win at Macclesfield or Swindon because of fans booing them / they won because their set up with dempster is ridiculous and almost offensive - but they try to blame the fans.

Going to Shrewsbury in the cup next weekend, anything less than a 4-0 defeat will be a bonus

After watching Morecambe today, Id struggle to believe there is a worst side than them.

Morecambe have a competent manager though. He could well sort them out with January coming up.

Plus they are at home to us next, a great opportunity for them to collect 3 points to kick start a revival.

I don’t think we will go down but at the minute im so disillusioned with this shower of shit that I’m already coming round to the idea because at least we might actually win some fucking games down there.

I don't think Jimbo would have kept this side up this season, we are very poor. I said at a preseason friendly that January would be vital once again and even more so now we have a new man in charge. No pressure Derek.

Grimsby also have the relief of an upcoming fixture against us.

If we get an average forward or two or at least a big lump who can hold the ball up we will be ok if we don’t then it will be touch and go between us Stevenage and my tip to finish last Morecambe

Unfortunately I can't see past Morecambe for the drop. We're yet to play the likes of Macc and Stevenage but Morecambe have been treading water for years. The current squad they have just isn't up to this level and their tactics on Saturday were devoid of any clear plan apart from defending very very deep and hoping for the best. Oldham were terrible when I saw them but even they are probably streets ahead of Morecambe.

Ideally I want Stevenage down but I can't see Morecambe avoiding the drop this year. Pretty ironic really, they've always done a great job of avoiding the bottom 2 but the one year it's back to one relegation place and they've found themselves well and truly in the mire.

We're not bad currently. It's if we get a points deduction or a mass exodus of players in January that we'll become proper relegation candidates.

I am not expecting us to go down and I doubt many others are either. Whether that is a result of expectation or performance, I am looking at midtable rather than bottom of the league. Of those I have seen, I would fancy Stevenage or Morecambe to be relegated. Carlisle were very poor when we played them, but I am giving that as we dragged them down to our level on the day. We have some difficult games coming up v FGR, Colchester and Grimsby. I'll know after those games whether I can look at midtable or go back to looking at relegation.

Bump!

Things have a slightly different complexion since I started this thread.

Scunthorpe, on a six game unbeaten run look home and dry, ten points clear of the single relegation stop, closer to getting into the playoffs.

Macclesfield, winless since mid-October are now docked six points and as a result find themselves in 22nd place, three points ahead of Morecambe.

Walsall are unbeaten in four with two wins and a couple of points behind fellow relegatees Scunthorpe in the pulling out of trouble stakes.

Crawley and Salford continue to tread water, not losing so many and with enough of a cushion for it to seem unlikely they'll have to worry about relegation, nevertheless more likely to slide down the table than up it on current form.

Managerless Grimsby still have one or two games in hand on the teams around them but their form shows no sign of improving and now they're right in among the mire. Can't keep saying 'they won't go down with that squad' any more.

Orient and Mansfield decline, steadily, can't win, they're in this. I'd add Mansfield to the poll at this point but can't.

Carlisle, Oldham and Stevenage stutter onwards, close to the bottom but with a combined 3 wins, 10 draws and 2 defeats from the last 15 games. Just enough points being picked up to prevent them becoming a stranded group down the bottom.

Morecambe continue to look like they don't have it in them to avoid relegation, not on merit anyway. They continue to lose while teams above them avoid defeat. It's still pretty close, especially with Stevenage just a point ahead but teams above them also have games in hand. If Macclesfield do get the further four point deduction then on the current points totals they'd be bottom so maybe that's what Morecambe have to cling to.

At this stage Morecambe or Macclesfield look to be the likely candidates, Morecambe haven't turned it around under the new manager and Macclesfield are now on a knife edge as to if they get further deductions for missed games notably tomorrow and after pay day if not paid and then of course administration threats would still be an issue if the take over bid doesn't succeed you would think.

I want to congratulate Limbrick on pulling us away from the relegation zone, we were 20th on Monday and yet now we’re somehow up to 19th, give him the job full time! :bg:

Obviously everyone wants Stevenage to go down. I mean I don't even feel like I have to ask, appointing Graham Westley again just makes us want it more. I suppose a lot of people would like Salford to go down but that doesn't seem very likely.

I think most Barrow fans are torn about who gets relegated - IF we come up it will be nice to have matches against Carlisle and Morecambe - but it would also be nice to be a league above them. What would radio sheep dip do if Barrow were in the EFL and Carlisle were in the National League??? Other than that agreed - Stevenage out (IF Macc somehow survive)

I agree on Stevenage.

Soulless, pointless, terrible away trip.

Probably the most non-descript place in the league (though Newport gives it a good go).

On a side note I’d love barrow to come up, thoroughly enjoyed the trips up there.

It’s so catastrophically bad there it’s actually pretty alright - went for the weekend once.

Barring Yeovil or Bromley winning by 3 or 4 and us losing by the same tomorrow well be top at Christmas with a game in hand. We're in the BT Sports game tomorrow at 5.20 away at Solihull if anyone gets bored after their game.

I'm going to sound like a total dick here, but i haven't got a clue where Barrow actually is. I know its up north and suspect its somewhere around Rochdale?

yep - you sound like a total dick.
South Cumbria - just below the Lake District.
We train at Hopwood Hall in Rochdale though.
think Carlisle and it takes about the same amount of time to get to Barrow
