it's not normal - but we offered him a 3 year deal where as Wrexham i believe offered him 1 or 2 years and he wanted the longer contract security and a playing style that suited him more

I don't think we offered him anything tbh. He just regularly popped up in papers with come and get me plea's after Blackpool wanted rid.

No way we'd have offered him a three year deal, not with his injury record. Your gamble seems to be paying off so far though.

Massive respect to Barrow's manager for what they are achieving this year (still think it's too soon for Chipmunx to be celebrating, personally) but it will be quite funny to see Barrow and their two dozen fans in League 2. Also, a frozen Tuesday night away in the winter (which it always is in Barrow) is the absolute worst.

Bear in mind that Boro's home and away numbers are greatly influenced by Spurs matches though. Spurs in action on a Sunday usually sees a massive boost in Boro's support.

I'm also led to believe that Luton away games tend to influence Boro's home gates as well. Ain't that so That Fat Centre Half ? ;)

If we don’t strengthen this month we definitely will finish bottom. The team is currently the worst in the football league. Stevenage will maybe claim they are but at least they are creating chances, we are creating fuck all and if anything we are getting worse by the week.

Some of our players looked ok at the start of the season, not great but good enough to avoid the drop. But over the first months of the season Pressley made them worse and they’ve just carried on getting worse since then.

We need 3 or 4 quality signings to give ourselves a chance. Will we get them? Probably not. I’ve kind of resigned myself to relegation. It’s gut wrenching, but we have to live with it. It was always going to come eventually under these owners, so it should come as no surprise.
Maybe it'll go down to the last game of the season and Luke McCormick (On loan from Swindon) will score the goal to save you from the drop.

Wish these Carlisle fans would fucking bore off now. It’s getting tedious as fuck reading this exaggerated shit every week. You’re not going down, for fuck sake. Give it a rest. At least three worse teams than you for a start.

That's their thing though.

It's like saying GTFCFish should stop doing his Tim Vine impression. Or Vanni should stop wumming.

They're just shitting themselves in case they end up a league below us next season...

They are negative as fuck every year. I believe there has to be a samaritans helpline number on every page on their own forum.

If, and that's a big if, both Morecambe and Boro win their games tonight, then they'd only be 3 and 4 points behind Carlisle. And Macc, the other side in the mix, are only there cos of that 6 point deduction.

Personally I think Carlisle are not the worst team in the league and they should be safe, but not being the poorest side really means shit now doesn't it? I kept banging on last year on Yeovil staying up cos for me they weren't the poorest side and look where they are now.

We (Camb) were in Carlisle's position and most neutrals were saying we were not as poor as the other struggling sides so we should be ok in the end. That still didn't stop me from shitting my pants though.

ps - plus we're still in January and 4 months in football is a long time. For a start, Boro are not really that bad as their position suggests IMO. And the transfer window is still open last time I looked.

Yeovil were absolutely dire both times we played them! Literally either game could of been 6 or 7-0. (both ended 3-0) and we were shit last season!

We've played Carlisle twice now and scored 8 goals in total Vs them. I still think Morecambe and Stevenage are alot worst though.

Carlisle looked relatively ok in spells but error prone at our place, if the lad who wears gloves, socks down and junior girls shorts actually didn't throw himself on the floor every five minutes they'd be better off!

Stevenage looked solid both times but lacked any attacking quality... 2 wins (1 against Morecambe I think) says it all really.

Morecambe scored a stunner at our place then Cranston was a prat got himself sent off and we cruised home 3-1 so will judge better tonight!

If Stevenage got a goal scorer in they'd probably escape but they generally cost big bucks especially at this time of year, probably need luck in the loan market like they got with the lad from QPR last season (Chair?)

In the Stevenage club on Saturday there also seemed quite a few with a big interest in Arsenal who were playing Palace on Sky

Exactly the point I was trying to make. Yourself and many others will say that, and as it turned out in the end, you were right as the table doesn't lie. Myself, I thought that over the two league games, they were not the poorest side we came up against last year.

This worst side I've seen argument is all subjective, and just because somebody thinks x is better than y doesn't make it so. And it sure doesn't mean X are staying up cos footy doesn't work that way.

FWIW, this season Carlisle were really disappointing for a side that was playing at home when we went up there. Otoh, Morecambe weren't that poor when we had them here recently, and I felt they probably didn't deserve to lose the match.

The worst side is definitely Stevenage. At least Morecambe had some form of strategy against us that we ended up blowing away inside 20 minutes.

Stevenage can't score, they switch off at vital moments and they have a washed up manager who has allowed the game to pass him by with three sackings since he was last there. Stevenage think they can pull a trick like Barnet and Martin Allen, but Westley was truly blessed with a talented squad in his second spell there. He just can't build a team or motivate a side with no talent to get results and that's why, bar a Macc financial implosion, Stevenage will be relegated this year.

In short, I'd be concerned if I were a Carlisle fan, and I'm not wumming Chris (at least this time;)). You can never tell at this stage of the season with Morecambe being Morecambe and IMO an under performing Boro in the mix.

Of course I don't want to see them go cos they're a proper club with friendly fans, but there's nothing happening at BP to suggest things are looking up. Rather the opposite in fact.

And that FA cup run is another worry I feel. It would be nice to see a fellow L2 side dump out a Chp side but I fear it's distracting them from league matters.

After last season's "Bra-Gate" scandal it would be somewhat apt if Stevenage were the ONE club this year to go "tits-up" in L2.

Stevenage have shut us out twice this season, both times they looked well organised and hard to beat. Weirdly, Swindon looked a worse side in the second half at our place then Stevenage did in any of the 4 halves against us.

Couldn’t give a fuck mate. If we go down it’s a disaster, whether you stay down or go up doesn’t make the slightest of difference to how much of a disaster it is.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see mansfield get dragged into this as well.

We’re going at a point a game and have the worst home record in the league

How there’s 5 teams worse than us is beyond me.

We’ve been utter turd for months - I’m astounded we’re 12 points clear of the drop.

Don't know what would bother me more about being relegated. Playing in front of crowds of a couple of hundred in the same division as the likes of Chorley, Eastleigh and Hartlepool or HG being right.

Morecambe close the gap with a big win while Stevenage pick up a vital point and Macclesfield's case to have their six points reinstated seems strong. Scunthorpe and Walsall have put their relegation fears well behind them, Mansfield are surely too good to go down, we've lost the defender who turned our defensive performances around and our last two league games have seen heavy defeats.

You’ve not seen us play, more fight in the french army, can’t defend, start with macca in midfield so basically play with 10 men, have forwards that can’t score.

It’s all amazing this season

I have seen you play, you came to Brunton Park and bossed us off the pitch.
