How didn’t we win that! And how did we nearly contrive to lose it! Take it but two dropped points.
We didn't win cos negative boring aspin picked the wrong team and in till he is sacked which I've been saying since the Grimsby defeat should be done we won't be any better than around 14th in league 2. All he had to do today was start with 2 out and out strikers in Miller and pope and we would have won by having pope upfront by himself with Whitfield just off gives the opposition a lift knowing there not playing against pace and if they stop pope we won't score. I don't personally think we deserved win I thought a draw was a fair result. Notts county following was very poor as Well even if we were as bad as they are at the moment we would still take more than 400.

Yes, ok is good, we’re better than last year, and that’s fine for me.
Not for the morons on twitter,Facebook and ovf but the people who want aspin gone need to look at the bigger problems at our club, anyway the game.
Thought we played well, could’ve won, definitely didn’t deserve to lose, and it was entertaining!
How often do you say that?
Both teams club clocked that hitting the channels produced mistakes which gave opportunities, why we don’t do it more often amazes me.
Whitfield was superb today(why take him off?) miller is a pony and kewell is an absolute weapon.
We were in the boxes near to him, after the final whistle he was giving our groundsman a load of abuse, for what I don’t know, he certainly took a bit of stick from those around me for it.
Notts won’t go down, they don’t look as bad as us last year, but my word they aren’t great.
I thought Whitfield was shocking and I want aspin sacked doesn't make me a moron. I go every home game and 10 away and I go with people who haven't missed a game in 20 years and they all want aspin sacked. If it wasn't for fans like them this club wouldn't even exist.

It's not horrendous it's my opinion I go every home game and at least 10 away and I'm bored watching aspin negative crap football so I want the bald twat sacked the sooner the better. No creativity in our team no goals from midfield and only 1 striker who can score upfront this is around squad so sack him now. Less than 4000 home fans proves people are bored watching his negative crap Halifax Gateshead fans all said the same as Well plus your a fucking prick.

Disagree we were far from negative today and Whitfield was the main one causing issues.

I was worried with the line up but it worked out as a 3-5-2 and thought we pressed well. Second half was the alamo and better luck and finishing we probably win 4 or 5.

In recent weeks we’ve been negative but I thought it was spot on today.

See Harry Kewell has been at it again.. getting slaughtered and mocked by the local press and fans. He’s worse than Artell for delusion!

Kewell is a moron, he won’t last until the end of January.

On Vale, I think they’re one of the poorest teams we’ve played in this season of shame. It’s a long time since I’ve seen a team have that much of the game but so little like they’re going to turn it into attempts at goal.

We haven’t sorted the striking options out, in the main we are miles ahead of last season but a work in progress and currently looking about where we expected. Far better than the weakest teams but not at the level to challenge. It’s been another summer of overhaul to rid us of the shit we had and create a foundation to build on.

Still missing our best player though who’s finally due back next week and totally changes our dynamic.

Not sure why you are having a dig at an away following when your home support is so poor this season. I expect so much more from a club like Port Vale

To be fair we are doing well to get what we are after the last two seasons! The worst in our history last time out. Did seem low today although we have strangely had a spell of 8 games at home in 11 in all competitions in the space of six weeks which is nuts. Big one next weekend though and hopefully a rare 5 figure crowd. £££££££ for January... well Smurfs next Tesla.

Thought we were the better of the teams today but lacked a real clinical goalscorer. We'll play worse and lose. This season is consolidation for us. A couple of decent midfielders and a striker or two in the summer and I think we'll push on.

As you say, kewell is a dimwit and should count his lucky stars that he has landed this job. Poor decision by your chairman IMHO and like you I think he'll be out before the season is over.

Well look at last week! 1 shot on target and won 1-0! Funny old game, similar against Oldham the week before. Glad Pope is scoring again though, wonder if we will rest him against Sunderland to try and recover from the injury preventing him training? Don’t know what’s happening with Kanu again though! Dodds comes on ahead of him today yet his cameo against Exeter was encouraging and he was no worse against Lincoln than anyone else.

Hoping Villa letting Clarke play next week is a sign we might keep him until the end of the season though as he is different gravy at this level and be a huge loss if recalled. Might need a full back if that’s the case.

I've just read Harry kewells quotes in full. He claimed that Notts deserved to win and 'controlled' the first half. Really???

Notts had two shots on target and scored two, I don't think brown had another save to make. If that's controlling the game then I really worry about what he is actually perceiving that he is seeing!

It smacks of a manager who knows he's a bit of a charlatan and knows that eventually it will catch up with him, hence talking his team up.

I'm usually pretty fair with assessment but with a bit more quality in the penalty area we could have won by 3 or 4 today.

Kewell is just defending his players. An away point against an improved Vale after three defeats in a week is progress. He deserves a transfer window to get some of his own players in, the squad he's got is too big and massively imbalanced. No one is getting us upwardly mobile without a mobile target man, another robust centre midfielder and some right back cover.
We need to ship out six or seven ASAP.

Your away followings have always been poor to Vale Park in fairness as I said even when you had the chance to win promotion you had around 1000... we’d have sold out the away end in similar circumstances. (As we did at Wycombe and Rochdale).

Out away record was awful last season as was our team but took over double in comparison.

That’s great but what about your home attendances ? It’s great taking good numbers and filling the coffers of your league rivals but what about home supporters? The lifeblood of all lower league clubs? A tad more important. Huge drop off at Vale

100 down on last years average so far but will probably even out after Crewe and the Xmas fixtures plus the iFollow effect which will impact most averages across the leagues. Played 8 home ties in six weeks so understandably not that high as most can’t afford it, and with three home games in a row next week is the biggest pull.

Our attendances are what they are, when doing well around 6000-6500 when struggling 4-5000.

Notts were poor, we were better and should have won comfortably and Harry Kewell is a knob.
Interesting to hear he had a go at the Vale groundsman, Steve Speed as when he lost with Crawley he blamed the pitch for being too dry. He and Andy Proctor need help by the looks of it.

Before the match I thought Notts were probably in a false position but afterwards think they might join Chesterfield next year.
Boldewijn gets injured they are down.

We will cut the grass just to suit Harry. Hope he will return the favour at Meadow Lane... called home advantage. Christ John Rudge has the fire brigade flood the pitch before Spurs in 87!

Kewell is a clown, noticed he has brought his tactics from Crawley too with the time wasting from the first few minutes... although it did provide some entertainment when Aspo ran down the tough line to get the ball! Probably faster than he moved during his playing career in fairness!

Boldewijn gets injured they are down.

Said that at the game, defensively they were hilarious. Oddly the worst player on the field managed to score their second! But they just had nothing outside of Boldewijn who was quality. They kept pumping the ball down that channel for him which summed up how reliant they were on him.

They were similar to Chesterfield last season in terms of the performance. The keeper just played out some real random balls out and nearly paid for it. They need a major overhaul in January so will probably spend their way out of trouble but most people thought Chesterfield would do well and had a good squad on paper.

With their defence so poor im surprised Duffy isn’t playing and can only assume Jones was injured? They’d surely both vastly improve that back line.

Oh oh it’s another one. You do realise you can’t really judge an opposing side on just 90 mins*

You’d think so but Jones’ drop off from last season appears vast and bewildering , most of the very effective back four have fallen back in form dramatically. This is our major problem, Brisley Duffy Toots and Jones were so solid last season. Same players, and this season is a totally different story sadly.

Again it’s just 90 mins you are viewing, so as always ridiculous to make such strong big statements based on one game. Come on folks we know this, we’re better than this

To be fair the season facts back up your defence being a complete mess... but the view is based on that which is all we have at the moment. We have also to play the two teams below you so they may be worse on the day of course.

Exactly my point before the game lol, the stats don’t like in terms of number of wins, points (both lack of) and total goals conceded. What you witnessed based on the seasons facts we all knew before kick off shouldn’t leave anyone surprised?

What did you expect a rock solid defence ? Great shape, minimal chances? After we’ve just conceded 8 in last 3 and plenty more before that.

Thankfully it sounds like Vale were very wasteful hence we got an unexpected point
