Think we're still at 29 players, so I'm also certain that it will come down more in the next few weeks.
Also think Andy Drury will stay and get another chance next season, but vast improvement required. Possible £130,000-£150,000pa salary not being well spent.
as I said eariler in the season, drury looked past it to me and definitely not a player worth spending the amount you are on him, the rest seems pretty much like dead wood in your squad so it's no surprise they've been let go.

Think the suspended players will go to(eventually) but it's all who still gets in now for me, you lot will always talk yourselves up(every year in the conference you did) and I see no difference now, definitely an interesting summer for you lot.

Must admit it was news to me that Fitzsimons was suspended as well, thought it was just Whalley and Miller. Hope after that's worked out all 3 are gone, besides what you think of being arrested or whatever, they aren't good enough.

As for the other released/transfer listed players, glad they are gone/going as can't see any of them getting a league club really. Also shows what a pretty big failure our recruitment was last summer, more quality, less 24 year old non leaguers signed off the back of their first half decent season in their career.

How was Berrett for you lot, didn't seem to play too many games?
Was fairly shite for us, and I was surprised Yeovil took him on.

In and out of the team, never made a place his own. Not surprised he's been released.

Do we? I was very consistent this season saying that we should've been aiming for a top 7 play off position, which considering only Portsmouth have more income coming through their door in terms of supporters, I don't think that's a particularly unrealistic target. In terms of financial muscle, coming off the back of a FL season rather than a Conference one, we should be in a stronger position to sign more high profile players.

Very happy to be posting this in the league 2 Forum.

Martin Allen extends his contract - the biggest signing of the summer for us.

As for our retained list:

Released: Lee Cook (high wages & faded big time) & Jack Saville.

“We will be taking up the options to extend the contracts of Andy Yiadom, Bondz N’Gala, Curtis Weston, Luke Gambin, Luisma Villa and Elliott Johnson.

“New contracts will be offered to Michael Gash, Sam Togwell and David Stephens.

“Further discussions will take place next week with Jon Nurse, Charlie MacDonald and Sam Cowler.''

“John Akinde and Mauro Vilhete have two more years on their contracts while Graham Stack, Sam Muggleton and Keanu Marsh-Brown all have one more year.”

Blimey PBBee you must of beat me by seconds.

Happy to have continuity of manager.
Only concern is whether Stephens and Togwell decide to sign. Pleased for Gash considering how close he has come to league football in the past.

It's a good start but one we will need to back up with some strong signings

Not surprised by the two we've released. Cook was in with a shout of being our player of the year for the first half of the season, but really tailed off in 2015. Can't undervalue though how important he was to our promotion. Jack should be able to hold down a place in the Conference and I'm not sure he would have made the step up.

Relieved to see Luisma on the retained list. I thought we'd taken up the option last season and might be let go this year.

Togwell has to be priority of those not contracted and although Stephens wasn't his usual self last year, he can be outstanding when on form so I'll be happy if he signs up again.

Anyone want to make us an offer for KMB?

Wasnt the Luke James fee rumoured to be around £1 Million? They will surely have to take a huge loss on a player that hasnt performed at league 1 level.

I think it was between 500-750k rising to £1mill depending on performances, so I wouldn't have thought it got near the 1mill mark.

His head was turned too soon after a decent 3/4 of a season.

Despite having been shite for us we still offered him a contract in the summer while releasing Liam Noble, Chris Chantler, Lee Miller and several other players who were better than Berrett. Berrett was good about three years ago and Abbott and Kav both worshipped him like he was Lionel Messi because of that.

He's alright if you want a 10-goal-a-season midfielder and don't need him to actually tackle or pass or do any of the important things midfielders do. He did well when the team were doing well, and we were playing 4-3-3, he was never a proper central midfielder though and turned shit when we struggled and expected him to do more than just score from free-kicks. Can't tackle for toffee, just gets booked every single time he tries to tackle someone, had our worst disciplinary record for almost every season we had him.

Ben Harding is shite. Signed for us by Waddock which says all you need to know,

We had him for 2 seasons and I couldnt really tell you what he did. Fans didnt take to him well, but we seemed to be better with him in the side, no idea how.

Think I might have to stick a fiver on Yeovil for relegation considering how horribly this tactic for signing players could go for them. Of course, they could unearth one or two gems and have a decent season but it seems more likely that they just sign a load of shit and drop again.

To break with tradition this year AFC Wimbledon have announce that they are retaining all of the current squad from last season. But they are offloading a large number of fans who are not up to scratch.

That made me laugh. :lol::lol:

Having released the majority of their team Yeovil are now having fans vote on who they should sign out of trial matches. It's been put on our forum for people to vote on, if anyone here fancies a go at picking Yeovil's next player then here's the link. http://www.ytfc.net/news/article/match-reports-from-trial-games-at-huish-park-2449270.aspx

Last time we tried something like this was the 'twansfer' and Skiverton signed a player heavily influenced by what our fans thought. The player turned out to be utter garbage for us so we let him go.

It was Kieran Agard.

Word of caution to not sign Mo Shariff. We had him on loan from QPR for about 10 games, he looked half decent in the first game against Barnet I believe it was and then went missing for the last 9 or however many we had left of the season. Too lightweight as well from what I remember.

EDIT: Also see Terry Butcher is having fun with the Newport squad, looking forward to seeing how that works out.

Ross Worner, Jack Smith, Alfie Potter, Mark Phillips and Sammy Moore all leaving. Sad to see Sammy Moore leave, our last player remaining from non-league.
